'T HOEKJE in Binnenstad

Last Friday, my cycling friend and I were looking for a place in Weesp where we could get a nice cup of coffee with cake. A lovely Weesp resident pointed us to coffee bar 'T Hoekje. On the cozy terrace, we chose a coffee with apple pie and a cappuccino with carrot cake. There was no choice, because 'T Hoekje didn't have any other pastries. To my dismay, I was served a dry piece of carrot cake: when you put your pastry fork into it, the result was a plate full of crumbs. Of course, I should have taken immediate action, but because of the good mood, I just wolfed it down while my friend enjoyed his apple pie. I decided to pay inside so that I could let the wait staff know 'in private' that my carrot cake had been well below par. Instead of a 'Sorry sir, thank you for your comment. Of course, we will take the carrot cake off the bill immediately,' I had to make do with a 'But sir, our carrot cake comes fresh from the bakery.' Then I was nonchalantly presented with a bill for €19.50.

Good food, but you can't get a fried egg after 1:00 PM. You can get rolls and toasted sandwiches, but not fried eggs; I found that strange for breakfast. And you couldn't pay at the table, you had to go to the bar, that was also odd. Oh well.

Received very friendly service and delicious iced coffee!!

Came for one cappuccino and ended up having three, which is a reasonable measure of how good it was. The apple pie was worth ordering alongside it, and the soup of the day is on my list for a return visit based on what I heard from others there. The old school coffee grinders mounted on the walls give the place a character that feels accumulated rather than designed, and the atmosphere is warm without trying too hard. Service was friendly and unhurried. A good spot for a slow coffee stop, and one I would come back to when I am in the area.

Ordered pistachios a few times. Sometimes delicious, but more often much less so. Lots of nuts, shells, but more importantly, the taste. Unfortunately, not fresh.

Nice place to have a quiet coffee, friendly team of girls who are open to a chat. An improvement since the takeover, definitely a place to come back to.

I’ve to rate this place 1 star because of the unpleasant service I received there today. After serving me white chocolate milk instead of normal chocolate milk the waitress had the nerves to rudely insist that I ordered white. Who knows better what I ordered, her or me? What a pity that the place employs this person - otherwise such a beautiful cafe.

I enjoyed passionfruit cake and cappuccino. I was going through the town and entered just before the closing time, but despite all that, the ladies at the counter were very nice! Advise you to sit outside the place is gorgeous

Delicious sandwiches (cheese and truffle toastie on Turkish bread, highly recommended!), cozy atmosphere, and since the new owner took over, the vibe is very relaxed. Lovely staff, in short, highly recommended!

Well, coffee is good as any other place. But what’s make a difference is the service and general atmosphere which was bad. I broke a chair by accident and was asked to pay for it… I don’t call that good customer service or sympathy, but maybe that’s just me. Accident happens, the way you deal with it says a lot about you. 30€ was definitely the most expensive coffee of my life. If you’re clumsy that’s not a place for you.

I was very displeased with the waitress's behavior; it was completely unprofessional. Following an incident with our dog, she charged us for the repair of a chair that was already badly damaged. We spent €28 for two coffees and the chair repair. I certainly won't be returning to this café!

AVOID! I ordered a tuna melt (includes a side salad) and to my surprise, a spider crawled out from inside. I approached the counter, where the lady was very dismissive and simply said, “Oh, yes is walking on the plate not inside your sandwich.” That was it... So, if you're not a fan of spiders, you might want to steer clear of this place! And of course, they still made me pay for the spider-infested tuna melt. Unbelievable!

After a delicious lunch at 'T Hoekje two weeks ago, I picked up sandwiches for all my colleagues last Friday. Highly recommended! Excellent service from a young team that really enjoys their work! You deserve a 10 out of 10!

Nice place, but unfortunately, the service hasn't improved since the takeover. The opening offer wasn't even offered during the promotional period, nor was it properly advertised. During our visit, it was clear they'd rather be closing or focusing on their own friends and family.

We had delicious, high-quality coffee and breakfast. We enjoyed a peaceful breakfast with good service and a pleasant chat with the staff. There's also a children's corner for the kids to play in. Definitely recommended!

It was pleasantly busy. The ladies were hospitable.

So-called ‘opening offer’ -> 2nd coffee free. I even asked when ordering 2 cappuccinos if that offer applied, and yes, it did. But when paying, the girl behind the counter told me it was ‘2nd coffee per person’, so I had to pay the full price for 2 cappuccinos. Checked the sign outside again; there is even an option for ‘coffee to go’, and I didn't see anyone walking around with four cups of coffee…

An old-fashioned coffee and sandwich/lunch spot, but with a modern menu and an owner (I think the owner) who's also kept up with the times, understands the situation, and is enthusiastic! Nice place, good food!

Stopped off in here on our way back home to UK. The cafe was very pleasant and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was the day of a Halloween trail in the town and the cafe was getting involved with fun and games for the kids.

Small terrace on a busy road (on Saturday afternoon). Friendly staff. Plenty of choice of food and drinks. Very fresh orange juice. Freshly baked apple pie was not very tasty or freshly crispy. All in all, I would have lunch there again.

Great location and atmosphere, friendly service. Food is average and way too pricey. Cappuccino was made from “burned” coffee beans, croissants are, to be honest, ordinary Albert Heijn croissants (with the only difference that here you pay 4 euro per croissants) served with tiny jar of jam.

Delicious iced coffee, fresh egg salad, and the Turkish bread with pesto, tomato and mozzarella is generously filled and tasty. Despite the extreme heat, smooth and friendly service.

Not our thing. Dirty space that is too cramped. If it's full, you sit on top of other guests' laps. Been twice, a 3rd time won't happen again. Sandwiches were just so so....

The entrance did not feel very welcome. The ladies were extremely stressed about the QR code and identification, face masks and last but not least, they were freezing inside because they needed ventilation. We completely missed the welcome you should experience. Another customer was barked at because she walked to the toilet without a face mask (literally 2 meters). We know the rules, but I have never experienced this anywhere. The interior is nice, the coffee is fine but the apple pie is iced and ice cold. We left it at that and will simply never come again. After the update: I was still mild with 2 stars, but after the response 1 star is justified.

We were here on a Monday morning in an empty tent with 2 small children at a play corner. This place looks child-friendly and attractive if you have 2 children. Don't be misled by this play corner, because they are not interested in children (who make noise, yes they do ;)). The baby made a babbling sound for 2 minutes. And a telephone was a little too loud for 1 minute (we had already turned it down ourselves) and a waitress immediately walked into the empty shop to ask if everything could be turned down a bit. The noise the baby made, the sound of the phone and our voices. So if you are working alone with your laptop and order 1 coffee a day, then it is a great place. But if you make noise, don't come here. The staff doesn't like that.

The highlight of this city. Delicious food, nice decor, good music and nice staff. I definitely recommend and wish everyone to visit this restaurant

The worst place to come as a customer. Very unfriendly and rude owner. Not communicating in a respectful manner to their guests when sitting outside with a child or a dog. Even almost being kicked out. Avoid this place to not have a bad experience while you could enjoy other places with more friendly people in Weesp.

On your next visit to Weesp I would recommend stopping in for breakfast at 'T Hoekje. We started our day off with coffee and breakfast. The staff were attentive and super friendy. We even had a witches finger for a treat with our coffee. Also loved the fresh squeezed OJ.

If you're visiting Weesp, I highly recommend breakfast at T'Hoekje. The food was delicious and the service and hospitality was wonderful.

Beautiful cafe right in the centre of Weesp with friendly and efficient staff. They serve very delicious sandwiches and the Tuna melt is to die for. Theirs is also the fastest service in Amsterdam that I have experienced, - usually I get take out so I am in and out within minutes.

Very cute cafe and inside decor is lovely. Nice waiters. Only the cappuccino medium costs 4,75 euro which is pricy and it is a ok cappuccino but not great !

De warme belegde Turkse broden zijn een aanrader. De tuna melt is heel goed gedaan net als de Engelse bacon ei. De hint van paprika zorgt voor een treffend accent in een anders vaak saaie eiersalade. Tuna melt valt ook niks slechts over te zeggen, de smaken complementeren elkaar perfect en er wordt met stukken tonijn gewerkt i.p.v. tonijnsalade wat je elders soms tegenkomt.

Vanochtend hier ontbeten met ons gezin en mijn ouders. Alles stond al klaar toen we aan kwamen. Super lekker (moederdag) ontbijt met koffie/thee, verse jus, verschillende broodjes en divers beleg. Heerlijk! Fijne sfeer, vriendelijke bediening. Later nog buiten gezeten met koffie en taart. Ook dat smaakte erg lekker. Een echte aanrader dus!

Had melted tuna besteld maar het broodje was veel te hard. Een blikje tonijn erover en dan een plak kaas. Een saus erover heen wat totaal hier niet bij past. 2 sterren omdat het personeel wel vriendelijk is maar het broodje geen aanrader.

Gemoedelijke huiskamer sfeer, waar je gezellig kunt zitten. De zelfgemaakte carrotcake is hier erg lekker.

Chai Latte teveel melk , niet goed. Broodje Brie lekker, broodje warm vlees met jus geen aanrader. (Ik had het verkeerd besteld, idd mijn fout, ik zat in gedachten met warm vlees en satésaus). Buiten dit alles blijft staan dat ik weleens eerder een broodje vlees met jus heb gegeten die beter smaakte. Had leuk geweest als eigenaar had gezegd; neem anders een ander broodje of wat korting. (Maar is geen ramp) Latte Macchiato redelijk. Wel gezellige locatie.

While visiting Weesp, we stumbled on the coziest little homely cafe. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous food and coffees - can highly recommend this place.

Food was good. We ordered soup and sandwich, both were good along with coffee ☕ owner is also witty with good sense of humor 😃 cozy place indeed.
