Excellent good, some of the best green curry and fried rice I have ever had. The service could be a bit better, however I think they are understaffed. Food quality is terrific

For fans of the deep genre only: intense flavors in deep oil. But definitely a nice place to experience the street over a glass of wine.

The rice noodles were very good, in my opinion. But the Tom Yam with prawns and mushrooms was just okay. I tried much better Tom Yam in Asia… No tap water served. Good selection of veg/non veg options, many dishes are customisable.

I don't leave reviews often but this place was so good that I feel like I have to let everyone know! The Thai Green Curry was delishious and the service was very warm. Safe for people with allergies like my missus who finished a huge meal (she never finishes her meals).

Creo que mis adolescentes declararon el Pad Thai sin gluten el mejor que han probado. Probé 2 currys diferentes y me encantaron los dos! Lugar íntimo con un personal amable y eran muy serviciales a las sensibilidades al gluten. Cuando llegamos a casa en Chicago después de un largo, largo día de vuelos y conexiones estresantes - querríamos poder pedir comida para llevar desde Phutakun tailandés!

My wife and I had dinner at Thai Phutakun yesterday evening, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! The food was absolutely delicious and tasted truly authentic—just like in Thailand. Every dish was full of fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The service was fast, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. If you’re looking for genuine Thai cuisine in a warm and friendly setting, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!

Love love love this place! So good we went twice and honestly I would have gone here every night we were in Amsterdam. The food was served quickly, to an amazing standard with the great flavours! As a vegetarian with high protein goals, they offer tofu, seitan or a meat alternative. They kindly doubled up the meat alternative for me at very little extra cost. Red curry is my go to and it did not disappoint. I didn’t try any other Thai’s in Amsterdam because this one was so good! They also bring more rice if you need it at no extra charge. Brilliant service, food and flavours! Please branch out to the UK 🙏🏻😅

We ate at Thai Phutakan last year once, and twice during our visit this time, and it was a great experience overall. As someone who is coeliac, I was thrilled to find gluten-free spring rolls, and they were absolutely amazing! We also tried the chicken satay skewers, which were delicious. Each time we ordered different mains, and they were all fantastic. However, I did have one issue during our visit; one of the times, the mushrooms in my dish were completely raw, which I didn’t enjoy. A small tip for the restaurant would be to serve heated plates, as the plates were cold and the food didn’t stay warm for long. Your food is too good for that! While the prices are reasonable, I found the cost of two large bottles of water for €12 to be a bit pricey. Despite these minor issues, we will definitely be back on our next trip!

I have been to this restaurant so many times. The food is always amazing, the prices are incredible, the atmosphere is excellent. I only have good things to say! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Every time I go back to Amsterdam I don’t leave without eating here!

Always love coming back here: The food is great, portions are perfect, the prices are absolutely alright concidering the location, and the staff is super friendly. Ambience is a bit rusty, but thats a bit part of the charm for me. Definitely would recommend!

One of my favorite places in Amsterdam. Staff is nice and helpful. The Thai grandma that makes the food is adorable. Now the food is really good. Our favorite dishes are, Tom kha kai soup, fried rice is very good, pad Thai is tasty, 55- the prawns in coconut milk are very nice but my absolute favorite is 28- the chicken with cashew nuts in sweet and spicy sauce

Tom Yum koeng is very small with 2 stale shrimp 8 euros for a few bites of soup without taste and not spicy.

Absolutely incredible Gluten Free Food, the only dishes not GF Friendly are the fish dishes. Not very spicy so take something with you if you like Thai Heat. The lady that served us was great however the Gent was a little abrupt. All in all, A top quality experience.

“All my Thai dreams came true.” Absolutely blown away, each dish was beautifully fragrant and the fried rice was dangerously moreish. The Thai ice tea is a must try if you are visiting Amsterdam! Never had anything as good as this.

There is huge choice of dairy- and gluten-free meals. E.g. meat with green or red curry. Also vegan and gluten - free starters options, like spring rolls.

This restaurant does not outwardly advertise that they are gluten-free but the vast majority of items on their (extensive!) menu can be made gluten-free - a note which is hidden discretely in their menu. We asked the waitress on arrival, and she confirmed that every dish except for the fish dishes and 2 other dishes could be made gluten free, and she made sure to point out the exemptions to us. The food was delicious and delivered to our table by the Thai chef. As a coeliac, I felt safe eating here and would definitely visit again!

This Thai restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam. A menu with a wide choice and excellent quality. The small kitchen reminded us of the restaurants in Thailand. The massaman curry is especially recommended.

I discovered this place a week ago and I am obsessed! I go here as often as I can. The food is really good (and you get to have a looot of perfectly cooked steamed rice) and at a fair price (especially for the centre of Amsterdam). I have to add that I tried a dish with peanuts and I normally hate them but cooked like they were, made me totally change my mind! The atmosphere is nice and the people pretty welcoming. Definitely recommend!

We were looking for the Dutch "rijstafel" experience: a dozen small tasty dishes served with two kinds of rice. Superb!

Came in one person and ordered a Tom yam Kong for 8 euros. I think they ran out of water to make the soup, I’d rather you charge me 20 euros for a decent portion, than insult me with a 3 sip soup. If you don’t have enough water to make a decent portion of soup then I can lend you some tap water. The Coke Zero served here was normal.

We accidentally found the place roaming in the touristic area. Surprisingly enough, the place was empty, but since we were looking for some asian cuisine, we took the shot. Very good food (we had Phad Ki Mao and Thom Yam Thalee), nice and warm staff and the prices just about fair, considering the area we were in.

I recently visited this restaurant and was immediately disappointed by their refusal to serve tap water. Instead, they insisted on selling a 6-euro bottled water, a clear sign of greed. This decision not only disregards customer preferences but also shows a lack of environmental consciousness. The insistence on recycling glass bottles over simply using tap water left me frustrated and overshadowed my entire dining experience. The food itself became secondary to this issue, and I left feeling unsatisfied. I cannot recommend this establishment to others, as they seem to prioritise profit over customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility.

The food here is way below average for anyone who knows what good Thai food is. The green curry was really lame, like something made out of an Albert Heijn kit. The texture was pale and unappealing. I feel like they dumbed down the food for the Dutch palette. The papaya salad was slightly better but not smacking in taste as it could be. The staff are nice.

Cute little Thai restaurant in the centre of Amsterdam if you're in for a good and not that expensive meal. The Pad Thai was tasty. For the Tod Man Pla we missed the traditional cucumber sauce. But the prices were fair! Be sure to reservate!

The reviews were so good. The ambience was simple without any fancy. The food in such restaurants is usually very good. I can only recommend the red Thai curry with chicken.

Omg. The food. Incredible ! I'm coeliac so have to eat gluten free, which is why we chose to come here having seen it on the find me gf app. Nothing, and I mean nothing was too much trouble. I had the mixed starter from the main menu meat selection, chicken satay, Thai fishcakes and prawn roll. I could have cried at how incredible it was to eat like a normal person ! It was really tasty. I then had the pad Thai, and my cousin had a beef dish with Bell peppers and chilli with rice. Delicious! My cousin said his was spicy but he likes spice so this was good for him but may put off others. My pad Thai was lovely, lots of prawns and fresh coriander. We both said we wished we had gone earlier into our trip as we'd have returned every night ! When we arrived they were pretty much full, but they split a 4 table that had a 2 sat at it and sat us down. The tables are close to one another and it is a really small restaurant; however, they do offer takeaway as we saw multiple orders being taken to delivery riders. Would highly recommend going, regardless of whether you have a gluten allergy or not. We will return on our next visit to Amsterdam!

Warm welcome in this small restaurant, copious dishes, the very attentive waitress helped us with the choice of dishes (faced with a very long menu, I think it is due to the fact that we were in a tourist trap area I think that if the map was shorter it would be simpler, too much information we get lost).

Vanavond via uber eats besteld. Bestelling was er binnen een half uur en nog perfect op temperatuur! De gestoomde rijst was top. Het soepje was liefdeloos. De Massaman was zo waterig en liefdeloos als de soep. Gebrek aan doorzettingsvermogen.

Unpretentious, inexpensive family-run thai restaurant, easily the kind of place you can pop in regularly for your thai 'fix' without squeezing your wallet. Best one in the neighbourhood.

Very tasty meal for the third time in a row. . Smooth operation. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too! Reasonably priced. I highly recommend it and have already recommended Phutakun to several people.

We stumbled upon this little shop in Amsterdam. Definitely a hidden gem and we will be back! Food was delicious and don’t forget to order the Thai tea. The food brings me back to Thailand. Thai tea was authentic. Green curry was good amount of spicy. Red curry was the most spicy one of all. I do think they lowered the spicy compared to Thailand, but still a very good level of spiciness. The chefs are Thai. Price is really reasonable.

As an asian couple in Europe, nothing excites us more than seeing a restaurant offers authentic thai cuisine. And an added value where their dishes is served either with jasmine rice or noodles. Their curry dishes are to die for as well as their squid menu. I cant still forget that the rice isnt always enough to finish the dish so you might want to order another cup of rice. Lovely food and great staff!

Good food, bad service. Staff was defensive and not open to points of feedback. Basic level of service was lacking. Would try other Thai places as there are plenty around.

The food tasted good, however there were hairs in the food and the staff was defensive about it (even tried to argue shrimps sometimes have little black hairs). Good food but bad service. Would not recommend to eat here with all the great options nearby but ofcourse decide for yourself what risks you are willing to take.

I had dinner at Phutakun last week with 2 colleagues , we discovered it by chance and were lucky to find a table on the quiet terrace. The restaurant is located in a side street without traffic, so it was nice to sit there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the food, 2 of us had vegetarian dishes and they were delicious, our other colleague had duck and he loved it too. We really recommend !

The service was quite authentic, some dishes came with small metal bowls that sit on candles that keep them warm. The atmosphere is nice, the lighting and decorations give good vibes. The taste is very good, I highly recommend it.
