Have been going there for years now, and there is a reason we keep going back! The food, the people and the concept are all amazing. When people ask me for a fun place to go in Amsterdam, I always put Thai Thai Poppetje on top of their list

I’ve been here several times and it never disappoints! The atmosphere is amazing and makes you feel like being in the streets of Bangkok! The Khao soi is my go to 😍 better than in Thailand!

Unbelievably delicious, almost nothing but lovely people!

Not impressed with Thai Thai Poppertje. The kitchen seems to be a fusion of American, Italian, and Thai cuisines. Unfortunately, not a successful one in my opinion. The fried chicken is KFC fried chicken, not traditional wok-fried, and the noodles resembled spaghetti more than egg noodles. While we’re always open to trying new flavors, this combination didn’t appeal to us. The place seems very popular, and we were reminded almost immediately after being seated that we only had the table for 1h30m and the table was rather dirty. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food, I wouldn’t recommend going here. If you up for an experiment, maybe.

The food was really tasty. Certainly there are (even) better Thai restaurants in Amsterdam, but the quality and taste were definitely high. But the policy of bringing the bill as early as 10 minutes to eight (table until eight o'clock) 😓 pfff And we had just had drinks 1 minute before … what a letdown this is?!

This is my go-to Thai spot in Amsterdam and hands down the best Thai food and atmosphere I've found in the Netherlands! The food is authentic and full of flavor! On top of that, the service is impeccable, seriously, the staff is incredibly warm and attentive!

OMG! I love this place so much! Not only the food is SO good - I love a combo of pork belly, naem balls and khao soi with duck - the vibe is chill and cool, a perfect place to have a date or hangout with friends. It's Bangkok in de Baarsjes! Their service is *chef's kiss* super attentive, fast-response, and friendly staff. 10/10 would be back!

Can’t imagine this restaurant got so much hype… I don’t understand, the taste is below average, the menu is sad, the entire package is not Thai, the crowd is with super low % Asian people, that says a lot.

Didn’t even get to go but called to book and the lady was just rude. Silly to see Dutch people using Thai culture to open a restaurant but holding onto Dutch hospitality…

Crispy pork belly was properly done — crunchy outside,kinda juicy inside, rich without becoming oily. Easy 7.8/10. The som tam was clearly adjusted for European taste buds: lighter funk, toned-down fish sauce, less aggressive heat. Missing that sharp fermented punch authentic Thai spots hit you with, but still fresh, balanced, and actually enjoyable as a side to the pork. Solid overall.

Excellent margaritas. Limited menu but very well-prepared.

Very tasty Thai food! Papaya salad and curry, just like in Thailand. The choice of main courses is limited.

This really has nothing to do with Thai food. A menu that makes no sense at all (4 salads and 2 signature dishes) and what you eventually get served tastes like anything but Thai. Absurd prices too for a plate of noodles, an overly sweet sauce that is supposed to be curry, and a whopping 4 whole pieces of chicken in it. We will never be seen here again.

The best mango margarita I’ve had in my life. Very kind service and delicious food as well. Non pretentious. Will be back!

They're not very accommodating to singles. The reservation system showed a spot available at 6:15 PM. So I booked, but when I went ahead, I got a table at 8:15 PM; apparently, that's better for them. I haven't booked yet, which is a shame.

A nice place to enjoy a meal. There's one drawback: it can get noisy when it's crowded, making it difficult to have a conversation. The delicious food also leaves little time for conversation.

Fried junk with the only redeeming feature being a good Thai dipping sauce. Hardly any vegetables. Way too expensive for what you get.

Went here on a Friday evening after hearing many good things about it. The atmosphere is fun, even though the annex they have in the back of the restaurant is quite cold to sit in in Winter. Service was friendly but sadly the food was disappointing. Both of their signature dishes turmeric red curry and the udon dish lack flavour depth, almost no veggies. Definitely a no for me!

It's like standing on the street in Thailand and having a grandma push a delicious plate of noodles into your hands. Unfortunately, not at Thai prices, but that's totally unfeasible in the current Amsterdam economy. I celebrated my birthday here, and it was incredibly fun. A highlight were the snacks that my family and I practically inhaled. In short, highly recommended.

My favourite Thai place in Amsterdam for years. If you’re an expat and disappointed by the quality of Thai food in the city, look no further. You can’t go past the loempia, the Khao soi is a classic especially for winter, their laab is tangy goodness and the revolving specials are out of this world. If you’ve not been, it’s a vibe

This shouldn't be called a Thai restaurant. Absolutely not authentic Thai food for a lot of money. A completely ruined red curry with some kind of sweet lychee/mango sauce mixed in. The fish cakes were extremely mediocre. An orange light above the table makes it impossible to see what you're eating. Service was friendly, but there wasn't a single Thai person in sight, not even in the kitchen. We'll never be back!

Came on Friday night, atmosphere was fun and upbeat, place was full but luckily the waiters managed to squeeze me in as a walk in for an hour or so! Really enjoyed the rice paper deep fried pork rolls, the beef rib curry was also very tasty, although I'm not sure the raw peppers really added much to the dish. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Will be back to try the famous Khao soi!

The food was excellent: the pad khao soi, red curry bitterballen, and pandan cake were all delicious! I also appreciated the Chang buckets. The only point for improvement was that it could have been more clearly indicated that there was a reservation for our table after us.

This was incredibly delicious. I really felt like I was back in Thailand. I've never had such delicious Thai food anywhere in the Netherlands. The fish cakes, papaya salad, and khao soi were all top marks! Generous portions and reasonable prices. The staff were also friendly.

We had a delicious meal with authentic Thai flavors! The ambiance is cozy and inviting. It's small but charming, resulting in excellent and friendly service. It was so busy that some guests even went outside to sit. So, reservations (with a deposit) are recommended!

We ordered tofu and pig belly snacks . Tofu was ok, not very flavorful. Pig belly was completely (completely!!) bland. I think , I hope , they forgot to use spices . I was kinda shocked to be honest how bland it was, not even salt, no nothing. Crust was very crispy but completely bland. They served it with big dip sauce ( I think soya / fish sauce mix) which helped a bit but nothing beats a properly seasoned belly crust … shame. We decided to stop at snacks and not order the mains.

Cozy place. I expected a lot from the food. The appetizers were very good, as were the lemonades. The main courses were disappointing, except for the lapkai.

It's better not to eat it. Roasted pork neck: There are fat and lean meat, the lean meat is like the dried pork in soup, and the fat meat is not bad. Curry chicken noodles: It consists of soup noodles and fried noodles, with good taste and layers. Mango sticky rice: The mango is sweet and the overall taste is good, but it's a pity that the sticky rice is not cooked thoroughly and it falls apart. Two cups of butterfly pea flower drinks. What's more disappointing is the change: my bill is €45.5, I gave a bill of €100, and I got a change of €45. I said: That's wrong, he immediately gave me a return of €9.5, he should have deducted 20% as a tip. I just receive the reply from the shop. It blames me (the customer) rather than look at the service they provided. So you can imagine what kind of the service they will provide.

This place serves Northern Thai dishes you don’t usually find in regular Thai restaurants. The khao soi was delicious, rich in flavor and super comforting (though I do wish there was a bit more broth in the bowl). The atmosphere is amazing, it really feels like stepping into Thailand

Had a nice meal with two people last night. The starters we had were good but the main course was disappointing. The portions were quite small and there was almost no chicken in it. That's why I think the price quality / quantity is out of proportion. Still, I'll come back for a second chance: friendly staff and nice location. So on to the next one with good hopes.

What a wonderful discovery! Thai Thai Poppetje is located just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, but exudes so much coziness and flair that you immediately want to linger. The interior is colorful and atmospheric, and the terrace is a nice, relaxed place to chat or just enjoy yourself. The service is top notch – barmaid Lindsay deserves extra praise. She is attentive, friendly and makes truly fantastic cocktails. Her Thai Basil Smash is an absolute must: fresh, spicy and just right in balance. A drink that makes you happy! I actually only came for a drink, but stayed longer than planned. Sometimes you have places where you immediately feel at ease – this was one of them. I will definitely come back here!

Delicious food!! Had fish cookies and curry bitterballen beforehand, and then a curry. All in all I enjoyed it, but all dishes are on the pricey side. The restaurant feels very cozy and cozy. I'll definitely be back!

Bellissimo! Consigliato! Very nicely decorated restaurant with many details and a cozy atmosphere. Much larger than you initially think, but it remains cozy. The staff is super friendly and helpful and helps with allergies. We had a delicious meal and would have liked to stay longer if we hadn't had to catch the train. Highly recommended!

Food was okay, service definitely could be better though… Long story short: I ordered some spring rolls amongst other things, the menu said it has minced meat. After taking a few bites I asked the waiter that type of meat is in it since I don’t eat pork and he says it’s a mixture of chicken and pork… He takes the spring rolls away after I said that I don’t eat pork, doesn’t offer an apology, doesn’t offer anything instead and also didn’t remove it from the receipt…. Yes I should have asked before ordering the spring rolls what’s in it but come on just put the ingredients on the menu. —— In response to the reply of the restaurant: Thanks for the hostile comment and professionalism, it really shows that you are open for feedback and know how to communicate with customers. I don’t expect free food or anything, what I do expect is that when something like this happens the waiter at least addresses the incident and doesn’t act like nothing happened. If you find it hard to show empathy, don’t work in the horeca. Also don’t make it a “me problem” only when this simply could have been avoided by naming the ingredients on the menu.

The khao soi was lukewarm, the fried egg refrigerator cold and the soup was too sweet. Very tasty, creamy and spicy. I thought it was too expensive for a bowl (€25)

Food recipes are indeed delicious.however my shrimp noodle was served cold with very little amount of noodle and 4 shrimps. Food was served very late. I was told that owner was not there tonight and indeed i felt it. If the food was not this delicious i would rate lower

The best restaurant in Amsterdam. Run by a diligent and loving Thai/Amsterdam family, where grandma still makes and devises large parts of the menu herself. Beautifully decorated place with incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Plus phenomenal food, Thai beer and delicious cocktails.

Food and service is so good here! Everyone’s super friendly and the food is authentic (I’m Thai, I should know) 😗 Get the khao soi and a Thai milk tea, you will not be disappointed! All the employees are lovely. The food was really delicious. The shop provides a lot of milk tea, very worth the price.

Service was very friendly, but the food was very disappointing, rated in Parool as the best Thai, completely unjustified, otherwise ice cold in the conservatory where we sat which does not improve the atmosphere, will not return here unfortunately, expectations were high by Parool, service takes care of for second star, otherwise 1 star

I got food poisoning from their khao soi, but my friend got the same but without meat and without egg and she was fine... (it might have been the egg, since i noticed it was cold when i was eating) Otherwise it was a really cool spot and cool atmosphere. The staff was really nice and the food came fast

Beautiful place with great thai food and some very tasty cocktails. Friendly service and great vibe. Definitely order the mango margarita and tamarind sour. Khao sue was very nice too. I would definitely recommend it.

Curry for 26 euros is a bit of a disappointment with few vegetables. Too bad they didn't have pad Thai or anything with chicken.

One of our favorites, we keep coming back to this amazing place! When you enter, it's like you get transported to one of the small alleys in Thailand. The vibes, the smells, the delicious food! Khao soi is a signature dish, but the rest of the menu is also unique. It's always hard to choose what to have! The cocktails are great too. And the team working there is amazing! Good vibes, good food, if you try it out, you will be coming back again.

Very hip restaurant. Nice atmosphere with a very diverse and relaxed audience. Service friendly and helpful. The choice on the menu is not large, but we found the signature dish very tasty. We also found it somewhat pricey.

The red curry bitterballs are surprisingly delicious as an appetizer. The menu is not extensive, but that should not spoil the fun. The dish of the month is definitely a good choice. Another recommendation is the Khao Soi, I had the fried chicken and was more than delighted with this dish. The service is super nice and funny. The decor is nice and kitsch; You can sit comfortably in the conservatory, but the terrace on the sidewalk is also nice. We will definitely come back here.

Outstanding food, outstanding service, outstanding atmosphere and vibe. One of my favorite dinners I’ve had an Amsterdam in a while. My friend and I split everything and here’s what we got. We started with the Khao Thod which is a red curry rice ball. They were delicious and came with a sweet spicy brown sauce. And then we ordered a salad and the one we got was the Som Tam Thai. Which was basically a papaya salad. I will say it was good. It was not our favorite thing we had at dinner. It was very refreshing. It’s something I wouldn’t order as my entire entrée. Then we had the signature dish Khao Soi. This was absolutely amazing. The chicken was juicy. The flavors were flowing. The noodles were amazing.

Proper authentic thai flavours in all dishes

I really enjoyed dining at Thai Thai Poppetje. Super friendly staff and the menu is also concise. We ordered Khao Soi and the flavour was perfect, would love to try out more dishes in future. Overall the place has a chilled out vibe. They even gave us fortune cookies at the time of checkout .

We really enjoyed the food! It was on the more spicy side, but delicious. Everything we tried was great! We chose to sit outside because the inside was a bit too smelly from the open kitchen frying, and then the waitress was not visiting us unless we actively call her, we had to step in and call her multiple times. Also the food took long to arrive. But again - food wise it was very good and worth the waiting.
