We had a wonderful meal in a lovely atmosphere. The two of us shared a few dishes. Delicious!

The food was fantastic! We actually ordered too many snacks to even have a main course each. We finally did and agreed to take the leftovers home. It was all possible.

We ordered tofu and pig belly snacks . Tofu was ok, not very flavorful. Pig belly was completely (completely!!) bland. I think , I hope , they forgot to use spices . I was kinda shocked to be honest how bland it was, not even salt, no nothing. Crust was very crispy but completely bland. They served it with big dip sauce ( I think soya / fish sauce mix) which helped a bit but nothing beats a properly seasoned belly crust … shame. We decided to stop at snacks and not order the mains.

Cozy place. I expected a lot from the food. The appetizers were very good, as were the lemonades. The main courses were disappointing, except for the lapkai.

It's better not to eat it. Roasted pork neck: There are fat and lean meat, the lean meat is like the dried pork in soup, and the fat meat is not bad. Curry chicken noodles: It consists of soup noodles and fried noodles, with good taste and layers. Mango sticky rice: The mango is sweet and the overall taste is good, but it's a pity that the sticky rice is not cooked thoroughly and it falls apart. Two cups of butterfly pea flower drinks. What's more disappointing is the change: my bill is €45.5, I gave a bill of €100, and I got a change of €45. I said: That's wrong, he immediately gave me a return of €9.5, he should have deducted 20% as a tip. I just receive the reply from the shop. It blames me (the customer) rather than look at the service they provided. So you can imagine what kind of the service they will provide.

This place serves Northern Thai dishes you don’t usually find in regular Thai restaurants. The khao soi was delicious, rich in flavor and super comforting (though I do wish there was a bit more broth in the bowl). The atmosphere is amazing, it really feels like stepping into Thailand

Had a nice meal with two people last night. The starters we had were good but the main course was disappointing. The portions were quite small and there was almost no chicken in it. That's why I think the price quality / quantity is out of proportion. Still, I'll come back for a second chance: friendly staff and nice location. So on to the next one with good hopes.

What a wonderful discovery! Thai Thai Poppetje is located just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, but exudes so much coziness and flair that you immediately want to linger. The interior is colorful and atmospheric, and the terrace is a nice, relaxed place to chat or just enjoy yourself. The service is top notch – barmaid Lindsay deserves extra praise. She is attentive, friendly and makes truly fantastic cocktails. Her Thai Basil Smash is an absolute must: fresh, spicy and just right in balance. A drink that makes you happy! I actually only came for a drink, but stayed longer than planned. Sometimes you have places where you immediately feel at ease – this was one of them. I will definitely come back here!

Food was okay, service definitely could be better though… Long story short: I ordered some spring rolls amongst other things, the menu said it has minced meat. After taking a few bites I asked the waiter that type of meat is in it since I don’t eat pork and he says it’s a mixture of chicken and pork… He takes the spring rolls away after I said that I don’t eat pork, doesn’t offer an apology, doesn’t offer anything instead and also didn’t remove it from the receipt…. Yes I should have asked before ordering the spring rolls what’s in it but come on just put the ingredients on the menu. —— In response to the reply of the restaurant: Thanks for the hostile comment and professionalism, it really shows that you are open for feedback and know how to communicate with customers. I don’t expect free food or anything, what I do expect is that when something like this happens the waiter at least addresses the incident and doesn’t act like nothing happened. If you find it hard to show empathy, don’t work in the horeca. Also don’t make it a “me problem” only when this simply could have been avoided by naming the ingredients on the menu.

The khao soi was lukewarm, the fried egg refrigerator cold and the soup was too sweet. Very tasty, creamy and spicy. I thought it was too expensive for a bowl (€25)

Food recipes are indeed delicious.however my shrimp noodle was served cold with very little amount of noodle and 4 shrimps. Food was served very late. I was told that owner was not there tonight and indeed i felt it. If the food was not this delicious i would rate lower

The best restaurant in Amsterdam. Run by a diligent and loving Thai/Amsterdam family, where grandma still makes and devises large parts of the menu herself. Beautifully decorated place with incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Plus phenomenal food, Thai beer and delicious cocktails.

I got food poisoning from their khao soi, but my friend got the same but without meat and without egg and she was fine... (it might have been the egg, since i noticed it was cold when i was eating) Otherwise it was a really cool spot and cool atmosphere. The staff was really nice and the food came fast

Beautiful place with great thai food and some very tasty cocktails. Friendly service and great vibe. Definitely order the mango margarita and tamarind sour. Khao sue was very nice too. I would definitely recommend it.

Curry for 26 euros is a bit of a disappointment with few vegetables. Too bad they didn't have pad Thai or anything with chicken.

One of our favorites, we keep coming back to this amazing place! When you enter, it's like you get transported to one of the small alleys in Thailand. The vibes, the smells, the delicious food! Khao soi is a signature dish, but the rest of the menu is also unique. It's always hard to choose what to have! The cocktails are great too. And the team working there is amazing! Good vibes, good food, if you try it out, you will be coming back again.

Very hip restaurant. Nice atmosphere with a very diverse and relaxed audience. Service friendly and helpful. The choice on the menu is not large, but we found the signature dish very tasty. We also found it somewhat pricey.

The red curry bitterballs are surprisingly delicious as an appetizer. The menu is not extensive, but that should not spoil the fun. The dish of the month is definitely a good choice. Another recommendation is the Khao Soi, I had the fried chicken and was more than delighted with this dish. The service is super nice and funny. The decor is nice and kitsch; You can sit comfortably in the conservatory, but the terrace on the sidewalk is also nice. We will definitely come back here.

Outstanding food, outstanding service, outstanding atmosphere and vibe. One of my favorite dinners I’ve had an Amsterdam in a while. My friend and I split everything and here’s what we got. We started with the Khao Thod which is a red curry rice ball. They were delicious and came with a sweet spicy brown sauce. And then we ordered a salad and the one we got was the Som Tam Thai. Which was basically a papaya salad. I will say it was good. It was not our favorite thing we had at dinner. It was very refreshing. It’s something I wouldn’t order as my entire entrée. Then we had the signature dish Khao Soi. This was absolutely amazing. The chicken was juicy. The flavors were flowing. The noodles were amazing.

I really enjoyed dining at Thai Thai Poppetje. Super friendly staff and the menu is also concise. We ordered Khao Soi and the flavour was perfect, would love to try out more dishes in future. Overall the place has a chilled out vibe. They even gave us fortune cookies at the time of checkout .

We really enjoyed the food! It was on the more spicy side, but delicious. Everything we tried was great! We chose to sit outside because the inside was a bit too smelly from the open kitchen frying, and then the waitress was not visiting us unless we actively call her, we had to step in and call her multiple times. Also the food took long to arrive. But again - food wise it was very good and worth the waiting.

Met vrienden lekker gegeten. Het eten is allemaal vers en smaakvol bereid, maar net iets te spicy voor ons. Erg vriendelijke bediening. De harde muziek is wat minder en maakt converseren vermoeiend. Mocht helaas maar een heel klein tikje zachter. Daarom extra puntje eraf. Als je van Spicy thais eten en muziek tijdens het eten houdt, een prima adres.

Unfortunately we were quite dissapointed with the food at this restaurant. We had Naem thod, as a starter, next to our two sodas, this crispy appetizer did make a great start. Then we had Khao soi (signature dish) , and pad krapao nuea sap, served with a small rice bowl. These were extremely small dishes coming at €22! There was barely any flavor left in these dishes, it was quite bland. It was definitely not what was expected from thai food compared to other thai restaurants and experience from thailand. The interior itself looked great, and service was good, otherwise this would be only one star.

Went to Thai thai poppetje again last week, the food is and remains really good! So ordered new dishes on the menu! Wow, it was great again! Fan of Thai Thai Poppetje since the very beginning. Since the opening, the food has been consistently of good quality, super friendly people work there and it really is a little piece of Bangkok in Amsterdam. Chaotic deliciousness, well priced, 10/10 would recommend.

Super tasty food and very nice people. Some things stay on the menu because they are just great and other things they rotate. Fish cakes, pork belly or other tasty things on the menu. Not your standard green or red curry, something different and lots of fresh ingredients. Atmosphere is relaxed and again the service is top notch.

Expectations were high, but unfortunately Thai Thai Poppetje could not live up to them. After a favorable review in the Parool, we recently visited the restaurant (read: best Thai restaurant in Amsterdam and authentic Thai food). We have traveled through Thailand so we know a bit about what authentic tastes like and we craved that experience. The restaurant was unable to meet this requirement. This is Thai food tailored to the taste buds of the Dutch (according to the restaurant). Now my husband is Dutch himself and he prefers Thai as the Thai make it (but he can handle it hot). Anyway, 2/3 of the starters were good. The Thai fish cakes were one of the best. The pork neck was well seasoned with a nice spicy sauce. The only thing that was disappointing was the crispy pork belly. Bland in taste and did not necessarily remind me of Thai cuisine. I don't think the pork was seasoned and the sauce was also disappointing. However, the main courses were really disappointing. We ordered the famous northern Thai khao soi, our favorite in Thailand. This khao soi didn't look anything like that. The chicken was deep fried (deliciously crispy) but should actually be slow cooked on the bone. The broth itself resembled a thick creamy red curry rather than the delicious strong broth from the north bombol with turmeric (i.e. yellow and not red). But we thought the worst was the amount of sugar. The dish was so sickly sweet that after a few bites I was full and started to feel nauseous. We shared this with the owner and got a spicy sauce with it. That really lifted the soup a few steps (I would say the sauce is offered as standard). But the soup was still too rich...what would help is a better broth with less creamy coconut milk and less sugar. The noodle special was just as sweet as the khao soi, so even after a few bites it was just too much. But that's our taste. The restaurant attracts the gentrified west and is indeed predominantly white, but I still get the feeling that white Dutch people are also increasingly appreciating authenticity. The owner found it annoying that the experience was disappointing, so we got a dessert on the house, which was very tasty. I would have liked to write a better review myself, because other than that it is a nice tent, quick service, pleasant atmosphere. But....the food was too adapted

If you never has food made with love : 1) you are missing out 2) you need to eat HERE! I have travelled and I have tasted quite a lot of foods. In Netherlands specifically two years I could not get over the bland experience of food with no spice no taste and no love. Here my taste got resurrected. Every bite, every single dish , everything is made with the best , freshest ingredients and the owners do not settle for anything less. Whoever reads this review should support and at least give a try to this restaurant. I promise you , you won't ever regret your decision going to this place! Huge plus the fallout Nuka cola reference by the bar. 🥰

Very cozy and nice tent, beautiful decor. Friendly service. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Starters were all a bit dry, weird aftertaste, like it wasn't that fresh. We reported it to the waiter and we received a replacement dish. Better seasoned, but unfortunately tough again... A real shame, because it looked nice! But maybe we also had too high expectations!

I'm Thai. This place isn't authentic even though it has the word "Thai" twice. Everything is too sweet. Good Thai food is complex and has a good balance of many flavors. I like that it has rare items like kanomjin and khaosoi. I tasted my friend's and their khaosoi and laab didn't taste like they're supposed to. However for me I asked to make my dish "Thai" and it tasted acceptable.

Het was een langgekoesterde wens om hier eens te eten na de lyrische review in Het Parool. En Thai Thai Poppetje stelt niet teleur. Leuke streetfood-vibe met een kleine kaart, waar dan weer niet de geijkte viskoekjes en pad thai opstaan. Leuk! We hebben lekker gegeten. De bitterballen met curryrijst zijn vooral origineel, het sausje snappen we er niet helemaal bij. De massaman curry met brood is een dikke winnaar; zo veel diepe smaken! Echt smullen. De toetjes zijn royaal van formaat, leuk met pandanrijst erin. Prima om te delen, dat hadden we net even eerder moeten weten. Nu zijn twee toetjes wel erg veel

I traveled 40 mins to try because of the great reviews. Unfortunately, I was kind of disappointed. Price inflated quite a bit compared with the menu shown. A som-tam salad is 16 euro, which is kind of crazy. The sticky rice portion is very very very small, and I was not full anyway. The service is great, but we were asked 4 time whether everything is ok in about half an hour.😅 I do not like the red light in the room, it is hard see the original color of the food.

the food is incredibly delicious, best thai i’ve ever had but the prices are a bit overpriced and the place itself is always booked, so hard to find a table even few days before. and the decorations are really basic compared to the prices it looks hippie

Nice little restaurant in Amsterdam West. Food was tasty and well seasoned. Not too sharp/spicy, but good that it is not too overpowering. Staff was really friendly and regularly asked if everything was OK. Atmosphere is also very good. Very nice and authentically decorated.

I have been to this place before, and enjoyed it very much. This time food was delicious but service was poor. We had a reservation at 20:15, but had to wait 30 minutes in the middle Of the restaurant, with our rain coats on. We seated down, ordered quite some items, and all of a sudden the kitchen was closed, without informing. We wanted to have deserts but they didn’t have anything anymore. Please inform upfront next time that the kitchen is going to close, while you seated us 30 min late.

Ontzettend leuk vrolijk restaurant met goed eten en uitstekende bediening. Compacte kaart, maar Ontzettend smakelijk. Goede natuurwijnen op de kaart.

Waarom toch drie sterren? Dat is in de prijs. Het eten goed en lekker maar ook niet bijzonder. De prijs daar en tegen is in verhouding te hoog. Voorgerechtje, hoofdgerecht koffie na met in totaal 4 biertje was €91,50. Voor zo’n simpele maaltijd echt te duur.

Aanrader alert!!! ⚠️ op zoek naar heerlijk eten? Wees dan hier! Een knuffel voor je maag, een explosie aan smaken en geur, originele drankjes. Wat kan een simpele ziel als ik zich verder nog wensen..? Vooraf deelden mijn vriend en ik de viskoekjes. Een goede start, ze waren een beetje crispy en hadden een goede kick. Ook geserveerd met een heerlijk sausje! Als hoofdgerecht had ik de pad thai, een classic, goed uitgevoerd. Mijn vriend nam ‘dish of the month’ pork belly in curry met rijst. Grappig hoe de buik van dat varken zo heerlijk is beland in een badje van geurige curry en vervolgens weer in de buik van mijn vriend (ook een beetje in die van mij). De service was ook best goed, de serveerster lette er echt op of we nog genoeg te drinken hadden. Van gratis kraanwater word ik altijd blij, dat vind ik een goed teken van service! Een paar kleine minpuntjes waren het feit dat we €10 pp moesten aanbetalen en dat we een beetje onhandig bij de plek zaten waar het eten uit de keuken kwam. Desalniettemin een geweldige plek waar ik zeker terugkom om een heerlijke warme, kruidige Thais maaltje te nuttigen!!!!

Gisteren bij Thai Thai Poppetje gegeten ontvangst was top en eten helemaal lekker nagerecht de sticky rice geprobeerd die was ook super lekker, ga kijken of ik de sticky rice ook zo lekker kan maken anders ga ik wel naar Thai Thai Poppetje daar wil ik elke dag wel eten = )

Wat een pareltje! Leuke sfeer, heerlijk eten (ook al vond ik het soms wat te pittig als Hollander), en mega leuke bediening! Hier komen wij zeker nog eens terug!

Ontzettend gezellige zaak! Personeel is heel attent en behulpzaam. Ze hebben heerlijke cocktails en snacks die je kan delen maar ook genoeg keuze voor hoofdgerechten. Zeer tevreden!
