The Meets in Indische Buurt West

We've been here many times and again tonight. We think this is the best restaurant in Oost. A warm welcome, even if you're not hip or young. 😉 The whole restaurant is already in the Christmas spirit. Very beautiful, and the food is always delicious. Highly recommended.

Very tasty food and very friendly service

North of Amsterdam's Indian quarter, a small vegetarian restaurant with influences from both Italy and Brazil. The place is beautifully colorful and mismatched, with a few small lounge areas nestled between the tables. The service, though a tad hesitant, is charming and attentive. A very feel-good place where everyone seems welcome. On the plates, plant-based dishes: a comforting cream of cime di rapa soup, tempura oyster mushrooms seasoned with a lovely little ginger condiment, delicious Tuscan gnudi in sage butter, a few tacos with romesco sauce and artichokes... Everything is absolutely excellent. In our glasses, Alessandro Viola's Rosso Isi is the perfect accompaniment to this transatlantic menu. We left delighted, and made a note of this little place, which is a little off the beaten track—especially as the area seems very nice: having arrived too early, we stopped for an aperitif at Eatmosfera Oost, on the same street, which also offers a nice selection of natural wines and pizzas that looked impeccable.

Food is simply amazing — one of the best dining experiences in Amsterdam. Cozy atmosphere, incredibly kind owners, and truly great food made with real ingredients, not substitutes. This is what a full dining experience should feel like. Go for the menu, always.

Excellent! We had a wonderful family dinner with our 4-year-old and 6-month-old daughters. The waiter was very attentive and we were served quickly in the evening.

The fried oyster mushrooms were AMAZING! We also had a couple of really good pasta dishes and the chocolate mousse, excellent to satiate chocolate cravings with a touch of salt. The personnel was super nice and polite, despite us showing up late (traffic).

The best restaurant we've visited in Amsterdam so far. We had the sharing tasting menu and were incredibly impressed with every single course. Every dish was simply unbelievably delicious, and the menu itself was a wonderful experience, with great wines to complement the meal, of course. The staff is also really friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

A mix between Italy and Brazil, food made with love.

Although we’ve had a delicious meal, we were a bit disappointed to see that what used to be an all vegan restaurant now serves non-vegan dishes. We like to go to vegan restaurants so we don’t have to worry about any mistakes in the kitchen and also to be in an environment with like-minded people. The menu was also delicious without any animal products, so the addition of these new menu items are a bit of a mystery. Hopefully the restaurant will return to its former vegan glory!

Rarely have you had such a great meal, whether it was vegan or not. Very good taste and fine texture, crispy, creamy. Always just right. The service is very sweet and warm. Not really that fast, but also has something charming about it. The interior is also stylish and cozy. To top it off, there is also nice music. A really nice place!

Absolutely amazing food. Everything is made with so much love. We tried the fried oyster mushrooms (soooo good), the melanzane, gnudi and the risotto, all super delicious! Staff is very friendly! I can't wait to go back to try the Brazilian stew.

Happy cooking! We found this restaurant at the last minute for New Year's Eve on December 31st! We were very happy with the quality of the cuisine even if we didn't really appreciate their way of making “a plate with 4 mini dishes” or the “5 course option” normally served. Impossible to mix the options for the table!!! I don't know if this is the usual way of doing things or it was the exception for New Year's Eve but we didn't really like this way of doing things.

What a treat! The chef’s tasting selection was extraordinary with each element on the plate carefully crafted. Each flavour and texture so perfectly balanced creating a perfect meal together. In a word: superb. I booked The Meets to celebrate my partner’s birthday and NYE, and the staff were more than accommodating of my last minute booking change. We ordered the sharing menu (plus drinks!) and the food exceeded our expectations. A true fine dining experience. The food was innovative, well balanced and all round delicious. There was a good range of dishes, each authentically reflecting a well-thought-out fusion menu. The Brazilian dish, which the staff proclaimed to be its signature, was by far the best. Could not recommend it enough.

I went to dinner in this beautiful restaurant with my girlfriend, the staff was polite and friendly. The menu is plant based, the food is excellent, tasty and not heavy at all. The atmosphere is cozy. Furthermore you don't leave the restaurant hungry as often happens in Amsterdam😊

What a great experience we had! My partner was already hooked as he had eaten here already 2 years ago, so we went to The Meets to celebrate his birthday. We had the shared dining menu which was so delicious, an amazing bottle of Chianti (we even took the bottle home because the tag was so pretty) and enjoyed the relaxed ambiance. Amazing service, the waitress was really sweet and helpful! Bonus point for remembering from when I made the reservation that it was my partner's birthday and so they put a little candle on the desert :) We had overall an amazing time, would recommend to any vegan and non-vegan!

Had dinner here with family for my birthday. Wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Normal sound level of the nice music in the background. And above all, delicious plant-based food! I would recommend it.

Tappa imperdibile se siete ad Amsterdam! Locale accogliente, cucina vegana biologica e stagionale. Io ho optato per il menù degustazione perché non sapevo cosa scegliere dato che mi ispirava tutto, ed effettivamente è stato un viaggio di sapori! Io che sono vegetariana difficilmente trovo cosi tante opzioni quando vado fuori, quindi per me è stato più che appagante! Porzioni abbondanti, varie consistenze, prezzi giustissimi e staff super friendly! Lo consiglio vivamente e non vedo l’ora di tornare ad Amsterdam anche solo per mangiare qui!

Perfect restaurant if you want to eat somewhere with a group of friends or a date. Cozy setting, friendly service. And without you even realizing it, it's vegan too! The only thing I can tell them is to increase the melanzane portion slightly or add standard bread. Furthermore, highly recommended if you are in the area!

Another great evening at my new favorite neighborhood Restaurant. It is the best restaurant in the Indische buurt in my opinion. Even though I am moving to France, I will make sure to come back here.

Adventurous vegan meal, super nice service

I don’t normally review places but I had the most lovely surprise dinner here last week. As didn’t know we were coming I had no idea what to expect, but the food was absolutely incredible, atmosphere was perfect (busy but not too loud, very relaxed and cosy) and it was so nice to go somewhere with such an amazing menu. We got the surprise menu and I hugely enjoyed every dish we had. A big thank you to the helpful and friendly waiting staff, and incredibly talented chefs. We’ll be back here for sure!

Probably my favorite vegan restaurant in Amsterdam! Every time the food is amazing (both dine in and delivery). Great flavors. One thing for sure is that I can't get enough of that chocolate tart.. The menu changes often and offers seasonal dishes and world-inspired cuisine. The service is friendly, the atmosphere cosy and the interior tastefully decorated.

What a pleasant surprise. I know this neighborhood like the back of my hand but I never got a chance to visit The Meets. I’m so happy I did that tonight. It has topped my favorite restaurant in the ‘Indische buurt’ with ease. Very tasty food. I will be back soon!

Amazing food in an amazing atmosphere, every time I come here I'm more impressed.

I came here following a friend's recommendation, they had some very interesting entries to try out!!! The atmosphere is something you'll notice right away it's cozy and smooth, with the low light it's even kinda romantic! The staff is very helpful and they speak English perfectly! The food was very interesting, like I said... They offer something like samples of their main courses so you get to try different stuff by ordering that, it's helpful when you don't know most of what they offer or haven't tried that! If anything, it is a bit pricey so be aware of this!!!

This restaurant is a real gem if you like vegan and healthy! I'm not easily impressed by a restaurant, but if you're a gourmet, you should go to Meets! We opted for the "shared menu", which means you get 6 dishes and a dessert (if I remember correctly). And one dish was even tastier than the other! We really enjoyed it immensely!

Favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. Lovely food, lovely staff. Good music at unobtrusive volume. Acoustically a pleasant place. There is music and conversations in the background, but you can easily focus on your own dinner company.

Amazing vegan food and ambiance. We had the Sharing menu and a mocktail. They serve delicious, wholesome Italian and Brazillian dishes made all vegan and allergy friendly. I especially loved the tomato/eggplant Parmigiana di melanzane, really well-balanced flavors and umami, and the Arancini con funghi, which was simply sublime. All dishes had a beautiful presentation, and some came with some crispy textured toppings as well. The chocolate mousse is also a highlight! I'll definitely be back. Thanks for an awesome dining experience!

Dit is het fijnste en prettigste restaurant waar ik ooit heb gegeten. We kwamen hier voor de 2e keer en ik ga zeker nog een keer komen. The Meets is een op zowel de Italiaanse als de traditionele Braziliaanse keuken gebaseerd veganistisch restaurant. Pizza werd er niet geserveerd. Wel een focaccia van eigen deeg. Zowel de italiaanse als de braziliaanse recepten zijn op een hoog niveau met met liefde uitgewerkt. Dit levert een fraaie kaart vol zeer zorgvuldig samengestelde gerechten. Prachtig qua smaakpallet en qua uitvoering. Met zowel genoeg keuze voor de voorzichtige als voor de avontuurlijke eter. Ook de drankkaart is fijn en de eigenaar weet wat hij bij welk gerecht aanraadt Ik blijk fan van de brazilliaanse gerechten en mijn geliefde van de Italiaanse. Ik nam ook het dessert met miso waar in zoet en umami op een originele manier verwerkt was. Dat was na de eerste verwarring van " wat heb ik nou besteld "na een minuut een zeer aangename verrassing. Mijn lief vond dat echter maar niets en was erg blij met zijn normale dessert. De chef-koks/eigenaars zorgden beide keren voor een vriendelijke gezellige ontspannen sfeer voor de gasten van hun restaurant. Je bent echt een avondje uit. Je krijgt de tijd om van je diner te genieten en met je partner samen te zijn. Of het nu heel druk is zoals de eerste keer of wat rustiger zoals de tweede keer. Een aanrader

Never had such delicious vegetarian food before!

Fui a las reuniones con mi novio en abril de 2023 y fue una experiencia increíble. No era solo una comida; era una sinfonía para los sentidos. Desde el primer bocado, me transportaron en un viaje culinario donde las verduras más frescas y vibrantes tomaron el centro del escenario. Cada plato era una obra maestra de composición, con ingredientes ingeniosamente combinados para crear explosiones de sabor. Los vegetales mismos eran las estrellas, rebosantes de dulzura natural y terrosidad. No fueron eclipsados por salsas pesadas o preparaciones grasientas, sino que se resaltaron y complementaron con condimentos y acompañamientos que bailaron en el paladar. Me encantó el sarro de remolacha y los arancini! todo estaba tan delicioso. El cumple es para cualquiera que aprecia la comida innovadora, deliciosa y local. Han redefinido la cocina vegetariana, demostrando que las comidas basadas en plantas pueden ser tan emocionantes y satisfactorias como cualquier otra cosa en el menú. Si estás buscando una experiencia gastronómica que seduzca a tus papilas gustativas y te deje con ganas de más, no busques más y venga al The Meets. Al final tuvimos una charla agradable con Federico y fue simplemente increíble descubrir más sobre su devoción y dedicación! ¡Qué buen lugar!
