Sadly another tourist trap with inexplicably good reviews. The platters look impressive but fail to deliver on taste and freshness eg the lobster sticks tightly to the shell. Ok if you really want a tourist experience but don't bother if you are looking for quality, fresh or tasty seafood.

We booked at the wrong location and had a short time before another activity booking so couldn't make it to the actual booking. Aby at the front of house looked after us so well and was a boss when the fire alarm went off between appetiser and mains. Food was superb.

Eaten there often, always super satisfied!!! Even the simple dishes are TOP.

I tried to make a reservation, but it took quite a while to get a table, so I arrived early. There was a table for four in the corner. ##Remember to make a reservation## ☺️Three of us ordered 12 oysters, but one didn't seem fresh enough. 😫 The oysters were just average this time. 😅 🍤The shrimp pasta was decent and tasty. 🦀🦞🦐🐙🦈The seafood meal for two was excellent. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Super fresh. The grilled fish was smooth and tender. The mussels were small on the outside but plump and thick inside, so I added an extra order. 🍾The white wine-cooked mussels. 👍🏻 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 A quick summary. I made a point of ordering again. I ordered similarly to last time, but I didn't order the oysters. They were still delicious, but the shrimp weren't as fresh and smaller. Overall, they were still delicious. 😘 But I hope the store can control the quality of their supply to ensure consistent freshness, and avoid inconsistent performance. 😬😬😙😙🧐🧐

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the service staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and it was a wonderful lunch time.

The seafood was really really fresh. For starters I had vongole with white wine sauce. It was perfect balance of flavor super nice. Main course I ordered special catch of the day which is grilled seabass. It came with tomatoes, olives, olive oil, capers and lemon. This dish was very simple, yet so delicious. However, the restaurant is very busy so do not expect an attentive service, however the waiters and waitresses are very friendly. Overall it is a definitely yes restaurant to visit when you are in Amsterdam

Delicious and affordable, highly recommended. Of course, it can't be compared with 79. It's too far behind, but it's OK to eat in Europe. There is a restaurant opposite that claims to be the best fries.

We absolutely loved this place. We had lunch one day at the Damrak location and we were so impressed, the next day we went for dinner at Spui. The places looked absolutely beautiful inside, the service was up to very high standards and the food, absolutely incredible. I had mussels both times, they were so delicious I simply couldn't have something else. The sea bass was very good as well and we also loved the scallops. The turbot fish didn't really impress us, but it was good nevertheless. What amazed me was the service provided by our waiter, Adrian, at Spui. Next to us, there was a table of 6 very difficult (and rude) people. One of them was drunk and loud, they kept filling their glasses with beverages brought from outside the restaurant and none of them spoke English, but expected to be addressed in their language. Adrian managed to deal with them in an incredibly gracious and elegant matter, while making sure we were still enjoying our dining experience. I have no idea how he managed to do it, but they all got food and drinks and seemed to be happy with Adrian's recommendations. I was highly impressed by everything these restaurants provided in terms of food, atmosphere and service and I would gladly come back here. I'd have the mussels again :)

A delicious seafood restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. Elegant, stylish, and delicious. The service is top-notch. We only had the shellfish, but we ate until we were starving; it was delicious. Don't leave without trying the butter shrimp. I ordered the grilled shellfish, and I was absolutely stuffed. The oysters were excellent. The price/performance ratio is excellent. Definitely make a reservation.

Great explanation of the fresh fish on display before we reached our table. Really prompt service despite it being very busy. Food was all delicious. It was the best meal we had during our long weekend in Amsterdam.

If you know how to eat seafood, the price-performance ratio and freshness of this restaurant are quite low compared to places like Taiwan and Japan that are good at seafood. I feel that the reviews are made up by tourists with European filters. The plating skills are indeed very good for everyone to check in. If you want to eat here, I strongly recommend making a reservation. There are so many people. First of all, the soft silk has no taste. Then the salmon is slightly overcooked. The skin is fried very crispy but not at all tender when the salmon is cooked. I think this price is reasonable. Then the other two kinds of fish have no taste at all and must be dipped in sauce. The shrimp meat tastes okay but the meat is powdery. The only mussels are quite delicious but they are very small. Ah, and the dipping sauce on the side is really good. It is very rich and smooth, and there are some small spices in it to relieve the greasiness. I originally wanted to give two, but the training of the service staff is really one of the best in Europe. I feel that the appearance is also selected. The restaurant decoration is also very comfortable. So I give three.

A different experience, first of all please know that you will not be full with the portions, it is completely based on taste but the food is delicious, I recommend you to have this experience at the sea food bar close to Amsterdam central. Finally, reservation is a must to avoid waiting.

We ate with you for the first time on the Damrak, but definitely not the last. From start to finish, from appetizer to dessert, everything was fantastic, but the seafood truly stood out. And the Albariño topped it off. See you soon 🥂

We had an extremely disappointing experience at The Seafood Bar. While our shrimp starter was decent and arrived promptly, everything else was unacceptable. After our starter, we waited an unusually long time for our mains while three other tables seated after us were served, finished, and left. Our server ignored us completely. We had to flag down someone else just to get an update, and even then, there was no apology or explanation. Locals around us were given tap water while we were only offered paid options, which made the double standard even more obvious. The service was dismissive and disrespectful, and as tourists, we felt like second-class guests. If you value being treated with basic courtesy, skip this place. They clearly don’t care about your experience—just your money.

Actually i cannot say even one bad things. Starting from the service that was kind, fast, professional and ACTUALLY cared about their guest. Going through a design and Atmosphere.Ending on quality that did not dissapoint in every dish that we ordered. If we ever comeback to Amsterdam it for sure MUST HAVE STOP!

The food was cooked to perfection, we had the mix sea food grill and some kibbeling with fries and sweet potato fries with parmesan and crab cakes, as dessert we had the lemon creme brulee, everything delicious. The service was the best we experienced in a long while and the staff was all smiling and very happy to help. What began as a little Sunday indulgence with fresh oysters and a glass of champagne transformed into a moment of quiet, inner contemplation with tender grilled squid and a perfectly balanced espresso martini. A moment of pause, a moment of enjoyment – all for myself. My special thanks go to the exceptional team on site, whose warmth and subtle attention made my stay an experience. It's this interplay of quality, atmosphere, and genuine hospitality that makes the visit unforgettable. A place I will happily return to. It’s hard to find good seafood in Germany, so I came here specially to give it a try. I ordered the Mixed Grill for one and a scallop starter. The scallops weren’t super sweet or fresh on their own, but with the sauce and seasoning, they turned out pretty tasty. The mixed grill came with a small lobster, a shrimp, 5–7 mussels, and three kinds of grilled fish. The shrimp was amazing, and the fish was super fresh—nicely grilled with crispy skin. The portion was quite generous! Totally worth it. The price was around €36–€37, which felt reasonable for what I got. The place itself was beautiful and comfortable, and the service was great too. Just a heads-up: it gets busy, so make a reservation in advance. Highly recommend it!
