Adorable little hole-in-the-wall café serving up amazing coffee in a super cozy space! Trakteren is a bit off the beaten path of the classic touristy route, but this hidden gem is absolutely worth the trek out west — plus, it’s a few blocks away from the delightful Vondelpark, so it’s a convenient spot to fuel up on caffeine before / after a park walk. The baristas are super friendly and talented, and I love the cute animal-themed latte art. The coffee is smooth and slightly nutty, and it’s clear how much they care about curating a perfect cup of joe. The space is very cozy, especially with the dim lighting, and it has way more seating than you’d expect for such a small space

We rolled in on a grey and rainy day in Amsterdam. Lovey little coffee shop with a selection of burgundy bottles to go. Eric took wonderful care of us with our coffee and cookie selection. A quiet place far from the bustle of the tourist scene.

Might be my favorite place to grab a coffee in oud west. The people working there are very friendly and they make sure you will like your order! Also the decaf coffee is super super good, I really enjoyed my iced coffee ☕

In between my appointments I like to drop in here for my regular latte. Always perfectly made, with that full, creamy taste that I really enjoy. It is my regular moment of rest during a busy day. The atmosphere is relaxed, the decor cozy and the owners are genuinely friendly. And what makes it complete? The playlist full of delicious 90’s and 2000’s hits. Nostalgia in your ears, comfort in your head, every time again a pleasure!

Love this coffee shop, recommended to me by Amsterdammer friends who live nearby. I went every day for a couple weeks during the Olympics in 2024. The owners, Erik and Edward, are cool. Great coffee and great atmosphere, buzzing with talk in the mornings then about my boys, USA men’s basketball!

Had a delightful coffee break yesterday. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly owners. The cappuccino was perfectly balanced—creamy yet strong—and the fresh pastries were a delicious treat. Definitely a must-visit for a cozy coffee moment!

Today I went here for the second time. The chocolate (milk), tea and coffee are truly addictive. The service is also great, as is the music! What is not great here?

I come from a time before latte art and fruit-acidic coffee beans... the barista knows his craft with his perfect coffee machine. Service and competence are outstanding! His expertise in latte art is exceptionally good. For Halloween he conjured up a perfect pumpkin in our milk foam!

Not just an amazing coffee, but I had a great conversation about coffee after which they decided to make a coffee on the Aeropress made of a blend of two different coffee beans. It was an exceptionally good coffee (if you like this type of coffee). Fruity, acidy, and a strong coconut flavor. Next time I'm in Amsterdam, I'm going again and hope for another great surprise.

Said to be one of the best coffee shops in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, the ambience isn't quite as great, and the coffee was only average (although they're really good at latte art) There are 4 stars because the cocoa is really great, which gives it an extra star.

Run by coffee and champagne specialists, it is a local coffee place, affordable and cozy, with a vast selection of coffee (beans as well), and great products quality. Not just for a cup of coffee, they sell tea and chocolate. Lovely stained glasses! But if you are into Starbucks it is not a place for you I believe.

Small but very cozy. Unfortunately you don't have many seats outside, which is a shame with the nice weather, but the most important thing is that they have very good coffee, which also looks nice :).

Such a friendly neighborhood gem, to the point where I hesitate to write them a review as I kind of want to keep this place a secret. It looks unassuming from the outside, with none of the hipster expat coffeeshop trimmings that’s ruining so much of Amsterdam. But the coffee is much better than most places that promise you ‘first wave whatever whatever blah blah’ coffee. It has a lot of local customers, people who clearly know each other and the owner which gives it a friendly neighborhood vibe. Also — we only paid 6.70 for a latte and a flat white (yes you read the right, affordable good coffee sans hipster in the middle of Amsterdam). Paradise still exists so go ahead and trakteer jezelf op een koffie bij trakteren. But just promise not to tell anyone else about it!

Nothing special for what is it. Smell of onion not pleasant when u drink coffe and no atmosphere, weird music, very loud talking of waiters. I expected I will have cappuccino in art way and it was just simple coffe.

This small shop attracts you with the smell of coffee. Edward and Eric welcome their guests in a friendly atmosphere. There you can enjoy the best coffee in town with your friends. That special recipe has been made by coffee artists in the same place for twelve years.

Seriously good coffee. Right up there with some of the best I've ever had. Erik and Edward are great Baristas, and Dutch aeropress champs to boot. Must visit if you're in the area. Or even if you are not!

Trakteren is a lovely place to have a seat with a friend and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee (or other nice drinks like a matcha latte!). The staff was very helpful and kind! We ordered a chai latte, a slow coffee and some sweets. All of them were amazing! We were also lucky to be given a taste of another drink which was amazingly delicious. We can’t wait to go again and try out their other drinks.

This place is quite a popular place for coffee in the neighborhood however, I didn’t find the coffee special at all. Besides that I didn’t like the atmosphere that much ( a bit dark and small). I will give it a second shot to try some of the pastries or chocolate.

We bought speciality coffee beans here a couple of times and they were the best!! We tried the same type of beans in other cafes in Amsterdam but it's not the same quality. Trakteren has the best in Amsterdam. We bought their Geisha coffee beans (which is very hard to gind) and the coffee made from these beans is fabulous.

De beste koffie die je in Amsterdam kunt krijgen. De leuke bijkomstigheid is dat er veel informatie gedeeld wordt over de koffie die je drinkt. Het kennisniveau omtrent koffie en thee is enorm. Je komt hier niet alleen voor een bakje koffie maar ook voor een leerzame koffie ervaring.

Tuve una gran leche de soja con leche con un amigo en su encantadora terraza en un día soleado. Tienen un ambiente precioso en la cafetería. Me gustó.
