The food was delicious and the service was good, but it was incredibly cold in the restaurant. We mentioned it was cold and he went to ask the manager. But the manager simply shrugged and carried on as usual.

Very bad experience I don't recommend

The food was too spicy. I had spaghetti bolognese, but the spaghetti, what is that? It looked like vermicelli strings. It was incredibly thin. I went to Italy a few years ago, and there's no thin spaghetti there. You just get thick spaghetti, the way spaghetti should be. And I had the sauce mild, but it was spicy, I know. Mild doesn't mean it should be spicy. But it was spicy and less tasty. You need to change this, and I'd send the staff to Italy sometime so they can see for themselves what spaghetti is like. But this isn't okay. And the desserts were gone quickly. That's why I'm giving the food a 1, the service a 3, and the atmosphere was good, so that gets a 5. But I do expect improvement.

Pizza sauce way too salty. And the cheese looked like a lump of cheese.

The pasta wasn't cooked properly, the spaghetti was clumped together, and the pasta aglio e olio was very dry. The music was very loud. We were only allowed to tick "no children's ice cream." After inquiring, it turned out they were out of ice cream. We were, however, politely allowed to choose a different dessert. We were with a larger group: the first two had already finished their plates by the time numbers 7 and 8 were served their meals. After our excellent experiences in Malmö and Rotterdam, this was a major disappointment...

We made a reservation on time. However, upon arrival, there was no room. A one-hour wait. They locked the door, and we had to enter through the back door! The staff didn't speak Dutch. A disgrace!

We had reserved a table for 6:30 PM and received a confirmation. Upon arrival, both the main and back doors were closed, and we had to wait 15 minutes for people to come out so we could finally go inside. The restaurant was very dirty and overcrowded. There were very few staff on the floor. When we finally spoke to someone, she told us we couldn't dine there because it was full, even with a reservation. If we really wanted to, we'd have to wait until a table became available... but then there was still a one-hour wait for pizza! Highly recommended.

Delicious pastas, I recommend them, you won't find better ones in the Netherlands

If you want to gamble, you're better off going to a casino. Here, it's always a gamble whether you'll get your food. I ordered food and only got drinks.

When I asked the lady to clean the table, she clearly wasn't interested. She finally showed up, disinterested, with a dirty cloth. Two people had ordered at our table. The pasta arrived immediately, snottily cooked spaghetti. The shrimp salad took a while. Finally, it was ready on the bar, and the lady ostentatiously stood next to it without serving. We ended up getting the salad ourselves. A never-ever-again experience. And I already left a €4 tip!

Always enjoy the quick pizza slices they got downstairs for a quick snack after work! Ussualy they are still hot and tasty when i come by! Appreciate the effort of adding on some extra tomato sauce when I ask for it 🫡 EDIT: They took away the pizza slices bar... not worth my time and money to come in and eat a whole pizza.. sad

I had pasta with extra tuna, and I've been on the toilet for almost three hours now, and I'm dying from stomach cramps. The atmosphere is nice, but next time, think twice before ordering food. I wonder if anyone else ate the tuna last week.

Vapiano falls somewhere between a restaurant and a fast-food restaurant. If you're looking for a long, leisurely dinner, this isn't the place, but it's certainly a great place for a quick pasta or pizza. A major drawback is that the pizza and pasta are served at different times, which doesn't make for a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was otherwise delicious, and ordering via QR code worked well.

The food was actually quite good. However, the service was lacking. It's a real shame that since the coronavirus pandemic, they've been using a QR code for ordering. It used to be much more fun. The restrooms were also very dirty.

It was delicious. We were served by Zinzi, and she provided excellent service. She came back frequently to check if everything was going well and was very helpful when we needed help. We'll definitely be back!

What a terrible experience this was. The tables have designated spots for plants, peppers, oil, etc. It was incredibly filthy. Downstairs, it looked like it was closed. There was an unclear sign on the door saying they had a deal from 9 p.m. on, which is still possible. But then we had to wait 45 minutes for pasta and then we got the wrong one. Grumpy staff who brazenly tell us to just wait a little longer because it's busy. It might be busy; I can't see what's going on in the background (apparently only one cook is present), but as a business, you simply have to take action. Warn people in advance, don't take online orders, or close the place down. This is truly awful!

The tuna and onion pizza is delicious.

Terrible food, it doesn’t taste like Italian at all. I ordered a carbonara that had no flavor whatsoever. I’ve never had a worse one in my life. If you want to eat Italian food, never come here!

Had an incredibly delicious pizza (Americano)! Highly recommended. The wait time was a bit long (about 15 minutes, but not too long), but the service was excellent. The restaurant is very spacious, with plenty of room for all sizes of groups.

The food isn't what it used to be. They've clearly cut back on the amount of vegetables and meat/fish used, unfortunately.

Middle class, not always top, but budget

The food has almost nothing to do with Italian food. The pasta carbonara is just cream with some pasta mixed in; not tasty. The pasta pollo picante isn't restaurant-worthy either, so we won't be back for the food or the atmosphere. However, the food arrived quickly, so for a quick, tasteless bite, you can definitely go here.

When we arrived we were told that for pizza you would wait like 20 minutes and 45 for pasta. So we sat down and ordered only pizza since we did not want to spent a lot of time dinning in. The place was half empty and no one ever explained to us how to order, so we had to figure it out ourselves. We then saw a promo advertised and tried to get that but couldn't on the website so we asked and they told us the promo did not apply at that hour, when the advertisement did not say that anywhere. We then placed the order for drinks, pizza, desert, and an antipasti. The website does not let you order until you pay, which was extremely annoying because we had to keep entering the card data every single time we wanted to add something to the order. The drinks took like 20 minutes to arrive, the dessert 15, the first pizza took 40 minutes, and the antipasti like 50. This was extremely annoying because we saw people sitting down and ordering half an hour AFTER us and getting their pastas within 20 minutes!!!! In summary, the experience with the website was awful. The service was extremely poor, and the waiting time was extremely long. The food however was absolutely delicious, probably the best Italian food I've ever tried in the Netherlands. And the portions are big as well.

I really wouldn’t recommend the BBQ pizza, it has nothing to do with BBQ. The food was disappointing overall, the lasagna was basically just cheese and nothing else. Honestly, my experience was way below expectations. We had to wait an hour for the food to arrived

The atmosphere is excellent, in fact, it's very spacious and bright. It's also a great location right next to the station, but unfortunately (as I've read in several reviews), I also got quite sick after the pasta. And unfortunately, I wasn't the only one. In the comments, I often read, "We'll discuss this internally." Whether this is done with serious evaluations or with a standard template/chatGPT response, I don't know, but it feels impersonal and disinterested. Disappointed. I rarely give one star.

The pizza was tasty but didn't look good. It all took a very long time. The prices were steep.

For someone who experienced Vapiano's rise, this place has become a real crackpot. Toilets cost €2, and they simply look awful. The food was incredibly watery and milky. When I tried to pack it up, I wasn't given a container but a paper box. Do you know how that leaks? I finally asked for a container, which also cost €1. The staff just sat there idly by. I won't be going back.

I'm a fan of Italian food, and Vapiano prepares it beautifully. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were friendly. I'd love to come back.

Good food and very nice service

I've always been a big fan of Vapiano. I'd skipped it for a few years, though. After a few disappointing experiences in Tilburg, I visited this location today. And my love for this chain is completely back! Friendly staff despite the rush hour, and my favorite pasta (scampi spinach) was delicious. I'll definitely be back. Tip: bring back feta and sage! ;P

The food is good, the service is practically nonexistent, the ambiance is modern...not my thing...but who likes it?

I ended up sitting at a table covered in dishes from other customers. There were only three tables in the restaurant. I chose this table because there was no sun. We waited for the waiter to clear the table, but twenty minutes passed and no one cleared anything. I went to the woman at the bar and asked her to clear the table. She said she didn't have time and that I had to move tables. I had to move other people's dirty dishes to another table myself to make room.

We ordered a pesto salmon pasta, which was hard, very oily, and completely flavorless. The staff didn't speak Dutch or English well. Never again for us.

Good value for money and a good location. Only ordering via the QR code is a bit of a hassle.

Wij hdden gereserveerd .Toen we binnenkwamen zagen we veel plekjes "gereserveerd"; daar niemand ons tegemoetkwam zetten we ons aan een" gereserveerde" tafel. Nadat we via de QR code hadden gereserveerd kwam een man naar ons,zonder eerst goeiedag te zeggen en vroeg of wij gereserveerd hadden voor 25 ,waarop ik antwoorde : voor 4. Hij zei op een onvriendelijke manier dat dit een plek was voor 25 en bood geen oplossing aan ....hoe konden wij nu weten dat dit voor 25 mensen was...er stond ook geen bordje. Hoe moeilijk kan het zijn om op een vriendelijke ,aangename manier uw klanten een ander plekje aan te bieden! Nadien zagen we hem staan bij de koks achter het fornuis met zijn jas aan over zijn werkschort .Heel hygiënisch! Dit gaf ons geen veilig gevoel. De portie was wel voldoende en het eten was warm maar thuis hadden we allemaal heel de avond buik krampen.

Perfect place to eat pizza or pasta near the station🍕!! I personally love the QR code system; you can easily order without waiting for a waitress, and you pay immediately. The pizzas vary in appearance and how busy they are each day, but they always taste delicious :) With the pasta dishes, you can choose the shape of pasta you want and whether you want cheese and/or bread. My favorites are the Americana pizza and the pasta del fungi 💓 If you're dining here with a group, it's best to order on one phone so that all the food isn't served separately. The staff can be approachable, but it's always busy, and everyone tries their best 🫶🏼

All I wanted to do was get out of this restaurant as quickly as possible and wash my hands. Upon entering, you're greeted by the awful smell of an unkempt place. The tables are dirty, the floor is filthy. Literally every table is dirty. It's truly awful. I ordered food but couldn't eat it. After being on such a surface in such a place, I wouldn't have eaten anything. Those flowerpots with soil on the table—there are dead breadsticks and soil on the tables. The flowerpots take up half the table, which is already inconvenient, because it's simply not sitting. Anyway, their hygiene is truly unbelievable. I ordered food, paid, and left. I'd rather spend 30 euros than lose my health. You can't buy health.

Good enough for a quick bite or to go if you find a restaurant takes too long. It's noisy, though, and the atmosphere and service are lacking because you have to order yourself with your phone. The only time you see staff is when they bring you your drinks or food, and you don't even see any cutlery. (They put the cutlery in a pile, and then you distribute it yourself.) Tables are often not clean, so you have to ask the staff or do it yourself. The floor is also covered with food because there's probably not enough staff to keep it clean. It gives a bit of an all-you-can-eat feeling. The pasta is fine, but definitely not restaurant-worthy.

Especially if you want to eat gluten-free, Vapiano is still one of the first choices.

My food was taken when i went to the bathroom and i was only gone 2-3mins(this included my drink that still had more than half left) I felt this was quite dismissive as they wanted me to leave Also the bin in the bathroom was too small as there was tissue everywhere as the bin had overflowed Other than that the atmosphere and the set out of the restaurant was lovely and the food came moderately fast

We made a reservation at Vapiano yesterday as a graduation gift for our son. We arrived on time, but received an unfriendly welcome. Despite our reservation, there was no table available. The restaurant was full of piled dishes and dirty tables. The waitress told us upon arrival that it would take over 25 minutes for our food to be served. Our well-planned dinner was ruined. We ended up at the neighbor's Korean BBQ. They were friendly and the food was delicious!

Waited over an hour for food. When I got my food after 60 minutes, it had hair in it! Last time at Vapiano for me.

5 pizza’s besteld. Na een tijdje kwamen er al 4 aan, prima. Even wachten op de laatste. Maar Neehoor, hij kwam niet. Gevraagd aan het personeel, eerste keer Engels gebrabbel. Tweede keer, 10min later, zat ie “in de oven”. Uiteindelijk 45min na plaatsing van de bestelling heengelopen, iemand anders pizza meegekregen. Die 5e pizza van ons zat niet in de oven, was niet doorgevoerd. Na afloop WC bezocht. Vies. Echt vies. Bruine vlekken op de toiletrolhouder, 1 toilet zat onder de wc papier, inclusief vloer. Het meurde. Hygiëne was kortom alles behalve op orde. Ik snap dat het druk kan zijn, maar dit is niet hoe je restaurant hoort te zijn. Alles behalve een aanrader dit.

Unfortunately we were not allowed in. The door was already closed at 20:00. Called several times, answered once and did not help us and hung up. We went to look for our wishes elsewhere. At the eazie next door we were welcome as guests. We are now sitting here enjoying a delicious meal

Faded glory. "Good food, low prices, nice staff, nice interior." I wrote this in a review 6 years ago. Do you know that, faded glory? In the meantime it has become a famous 'Scan here and order' restaurant. Impersonal, slow (even on a quiet Sunday afternoon it takes 24 minutes (!) to serve a watermelon lemonade). The interior is dilapidated, the staff is all English, the prices are no longer low. Too bad. Find something better.

Great food but it's so dirty. Toilets are really a no go. It's 1pm and the tent is half empty.

Placed order for pick up at 19:15, when I arrived at 19:15 they had not started yet. Indicated that I would rather cancel the order, then it was said that it would take another 5 minutes and the children would get a candy, so I decided to wait. After 10 minutes no candy and no food. Finally left, because even after 15 minutes there was nothing and they did not come to the cash register. Afterwards I tried to contact them for a refund, unfortunately they have not responded to several emails since September 2024.

Always risky with our Italian background to eat pasta, but I had a great experience at Vapiano ib Helainki so I dared to guide my Italian wife in here. Ordering with the app is no problem for me and the service was otherwise good. The pasta was fine, cooked just right and with a sauce of mushrooms and cream. For us a very acceptable pasta with excellent fresh ingredients.

Cozy large restaurant. Atmosphere is great. But it's all about the food and that is really a big 10 here!!! Tip take the strawberry cocktail it is really fantastically tasty. Friendly staff. And a beautiful roof terrace.

The service wasn't the best, took to long to get our order . The location is great just right next to the central station.

Food took more than 45 min and didn't arrive at the same time. Spaghetti carbonara was tasteless and stuck together like a lump. No or broken air conditioning, it's sweltering in the restaurant. Glasses were empty so no ice with drinks.

We were told at the door we'd have to wait 15 minutes. 15 minutes turned into 45 and even then two out of three pizza's arrived, other one took more than 1hr and employees were very vague about it. We'd get an update in 2 minutes but that turned into like 20 or well, she never returned. Turns out our 3rd pizza was given to a different table... while the tables have numbers. This would have been no issue if it wouldn't have taken more than an hour! Conclusion: staff is very bad at numbers and this is just disgraceful. Oh and I don't think I'll be coming back.

Just as good as I remember it! I came here the last time I visited Utrecht and it did not disappoint. Convenient location right by the train station, makes for a great pit stop before travel. Will be back next visit too!

Excellent service, and especially delicious food, minimal waiting time and everything is freshly prepared (you can take a look in the kitchen ;). All in all a 5 star worthy review!

Had a great time at Vapiano Utrecht! The food was fresh and tasty, and the vibe was really nice. Special shoutout to Andrei, the manager, he was super kind and made me feel very welcome. Definitely coming back!

We stop here every time we're in Utrecht. You can order and pay directly using an OR code. The food is ready super quickly, and you can sit up on the roof terrace. It's really cozy there. The price and quality are absolutely solid. You can't go wrong here. And if you order extra cheese, you really get EXTRA cheese (see photos).

Last weekend my partner and I had a very bad experience here. I had a pasta carbonara and got stomach flu after eating this dish. Now I read this more often in the reviews. It is important to work on your hygiene. No more Vapiano for us.

Food was good. It was mostly empty during lunch and therefore not very atmospheric. Plus our table was very sticky.

Service is good and atmosphere decent. Food quality exceptionally poor. Thankfully staff are happy to replace poorly cooked food.

This is Italian fast food. Order from your phone and the food is brought to the table. Presentation and service were good. Food quality... Not so much. The pasta was overcooked and mushy. The sauce had little taste. My salad was swimming in dressing. I don't recommend.

Food was fine. The ingredients were nice but no seasoning at all. The pasta was still glued together. The non alcoholic cocktails were amazing tho.

Anything but recommended! Been twice in a short time, once I ordered a penne carbonara and today the pepperoni pizza. The taste of the pizza was as if I had taken it out of the freezer at the Jumbo and the cooking was as if I had taken the same pizza out of the oven after 2 minutes at 200 degrees. The penne carbonara tasted like pasta dough with bacon and there was no taste of black pepper, egg or cheese. The service was friendly and fast, a compliment to them, hence a second star! Disappointed in the past and so I'm afraid this was the last time.

Waitress was nice and helpful, but the food was inedible. Pasta carbonara had far too little meat and was not well seasoned as I expected from Vapiano. Won't be coming back here again I wanted to add that I and the person I dined with contracted the stomach flu from the carbonara since we both ordered it.

Have been coming here frequently and food is always fresh and tasty. Unfortunately the toilet sinks are broken for over 6 months and the app to order food is usually not working properly. Definitely recommend the food but management needs to improve.

The only thing that bring me to Vapiano is the food and I come rarely because the toilets are disgusting, the place is most of the time dirty and the App is a peace of shit doesn't work. Recommendation: Please choose the option takeaway. it's much better than staying to eat here.
