Great food. Completely unaware that it is vegetarian. Very tasty, beautifully presented and simply delicious! Recommended!

The Vegan Sushi Bar in Amsterdam offers a delightful dining experience with exceptional hospitality. Despite not having a reservation, the host was incredibly accommodating, ensuring a stress-free visit. The restaurant’s location next to a church hosting a mesmerizing light show was an unexpected bonus, making the evening even more special. The restaurant is small but very cosy. The menu is genius - really well thought. The highlight of the meal was the katsu, which felt heartwarming and reminiscent of a comforting home-cooked dish. The crispy tofu paired perfectly with the rich and flavorful curry sauce, creating a dish that was both satisfying and memorable. Highly recommend this spot for a wholesome and unique vegan experience in the city!

food was very delicious if a bit pricey, we didn’t order any sushi but everything else was nonetheless very delicious! would definitely recommend the bao buns and the fried mushrooms.

Ordered avocado maki to take away - 18 pieces for €15, which isn’t bad price wise. I’ve never had purple rice before but it was very tasty - looked super interesting. Served in 5 minutes - so quick and friendly! Nice portion of wasabi. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed this restaurant. Not cheap but very high quality. A variety of Maki sushi is available, bao bread, miso soup and other side dishes. Service was quite fast. There was not a lot of fresh air coming in, CO2 was too high.

It took quite a walk to get here. I was excited by the menu as I’m a big fan of vegan sushi and am never presented with such a range of options to choose from. Before ordering, I was sitting for a while waiting for someone to take my order - when I realised I can only order with my phone, by scanning a QR code at the table. When ordering, I had not realised that the sushi roll I chose would be fried. I thought the tempura would be inside. If I knew , I would not have ordered the extra side of fried wings..the takoyai balls seemed to be deep fried too. It would have been better if someone took my order and I could have asked about the menu before ordering. The lemon with each dish is not necessary and there was too much mayo sauce all over the sushi and the takoyaki. I would have liked to know what the fish alternatives were made of for the sushi as there were many different alternatives on the menu. It should have been cheaper for a location which wasn’t so central. I wouldn’t visit the place again because it did not give a good feeling after eating and the service was quite impersonal.

Outstanding meal! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The Vegan shrimp topper on the Tempura Crunch blew me away - tasted like shrimp, looked like shrimp, and had the perfect texture and crunch. We will return!

Sushi was good enough, I would prefer if you have the option to get them separately, instead the whole table order of sushi on the same tray. Miso soup was lukewarm, a bit hotter would be nice. The person serving us had a good attitude, but the service was a bit messy and slow. Either way, I would go again.

The hospitality shown to us at this restaurant was exceptional-- the best restaurant experience we had in Amsterdam. There wasn't any seating inside so they rolled out the front awning, put the heaters on and gave us blankets to support us sitting outside in the cold! The menu is fantastic-- it's so nice to eat somewhere fully vegan. All of the food we had was amazing, presented beautifully and definitely sticks in my memory. Great place-- worth going out of your way to visit.

Had 3 different rolls, the BAO bun, gyoza and crunchy chicken. The rolls/sushi is especially great.

The signature rolls and the gyoza were amazing!!! Would totally recommend, if you‘re vegetarian or vegan and miss maki!

Their food is bomb! My wife and I visited this cozy spot, and we had an amazing experience. You know the food is great when you find yourself saying you wished the vegan sushi in New York City (where we live) was this good. Highly recommend!

In this cozy place they have great vegan sushi. The taste didn’t wow me but it was really nice to have options with faux meat/fish rather than just your average cucumber and avocado rolls. Because of the special menu we could try various items. Especially the fried “shrimp” one I like. Vegan mochi ice cream was also tasty. Overall good but probably a bit overpriced. Tea was good tho!

There is no more Ramen in the menu :( Signature roll is kind of small, mushroom was over fried with burnt taste. Macha powder on tiramisu was wet.

Some of the best vegan sushi I've had, and some of the best sushi over all! My favorite was the cheesy tuna roll. All the tools were delicious though, and they were all made with forbidden rice.

Outrageously good vegan sushi. Seriously, seriously good. We came here from the Hague especially to try it and totally worth it. Small restaurant with limited seating inside if it's busy but has space outside too. Well presented, super tasty and quite a varied menu - all washed down with a cold Kirin beer. Will certainly be back! *****

This was my first experience with vegan sushi, and I absolutely loved it! As a Japanese, I was delighted to see that gari and wasabi were served with the sushi rolls. The roll with fried shrimp was a fantastic blend of flavors. I never expected to enjoy the taste of shrimp again after going vegan. I highly recommend trying the dumplings from the side menu! Unlike the frozen ones I usually have at home, the dough was wonderfully soft and the sauce had a delicious, spicy kick.

By far the best vegan sushi I’ve ever eaten. Really reminded me of fish sushi, to be honest. We tried Happy Fish, Fried California Dream, and Flambé salmon - all incredibly delicious. For drinks we tried Peach Perfect iced tea and Matcha lemonade, both of which I’d highly recommend. The service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant. Location was also great by the canal in a not so busy area.

The restaurant is very small and has two tables inside and two tables outside. It requires prior reservation via Google Map. The food, without a mistake, is very delicious and frankly exceeds expectations. They were creative with the variety of sushi and the different flavours. Very delicious and a very special experience.

A very small place, but clean and airy with very friendly and helpful staff. We ordered two plates of vegan sushi (mushroom and salmon), both of which were absolutely Delicious. The seaweed salad was also really good. We would definitely eat here again.

Fantastic. My dad, a long-time sushi lover, genuinely likes these more than the traditional fish ones. They put so much love in these. They are a little expensive, but so worth it once in a while. Please give it a chance. Literally every single person that's been here and I've spoken to has such high praise. And the staff have always been exceptionally sweet in the 3 years I come here.

The shop is very small, which makes it unsuitable for groups. We had to order to take away. However, one order was overlooked. At home the Suhsi was only ok. The price/performance ratio was not good. We were disappointed across the board.

Being plant based, sushi when dining out is often as exciting as rice surrounding a dry slither of carrot or a cucumber, sometimes both if they really want to push the boat out(!) So forgive me for being a bit skeptical and had little expectation…but oh man was I wrong! We ordered the Mighty Mushrooms, Crunchy California Dream and No Chicken Teriyaki. Each of them packed with an array of textures and flavours, I couldn’t decide which was my favourite, they were all unique! The matcha lemonade was a perfect refreshing balance to the meal. Great start to my short trip!

This interior of this place looks it belongs in the red light district topped with cringey millennial neon sign quotes all over. The food was OK, it’s just incredibly boring. The salmon had the right texture but no taste for example. There’s nothing exciting or crazy about it. Price wise it makes no sense, it is sushi minus the expensive ingredients and is still the same price as regular sushi.

Ordered around 18:20, order was supposed to arrive around 19:10. At 19:30 we get a notification that our order was canceled without any other news. Can not reach them by phone, no alternative offered, no sorry, very very disappointing.

It’s veganised *Dutch* sushi, meaning topped with vegan/vegetarian SAUCE and other “decoration”. Some of it was tasty but if you want something closer to proper (= JAPANESE) sushi (but vegetarian/ vegan) you have to go to London or Germany. There’s a reason the NL is not historically (or now) famous for food.

Amazing sushi prepared by very friendly staff made for a top notch experience. This place is, as the name says, 100 per cent vegan and it feels so good to be able to order anything from the menu and not worry about cross-contamination etc. The sushi was tasty and creative, with a lot of texture and made with black rice. Also totally beautiful presentation. A must visit for any vegan going to Amsterdam.

We were nicely welcomed when we came in! We ordered some special rolls, Maki and gyōza. The gyōza were AMAZING and so were the Makis and rolls. Staff was really friendly too. If you're looking for a nice place to get a vegan Sushi, just have a look there!

The food was incredibly good! One of the best vegan sushis I have had. The area is also very nice (quite and beautiful ona nice day) even tho it is very close to Amsterdam Centraal which is a very busy place.

Aufgrund eines Problems kam ich später als geplant, aber dennoch vor der ausgeschilderten Schließzeit. Nichtsdestotrotz konnte ich nicht mehr im Restaurant speisen sondern nur zum Mitnehmen bestellen, was akzeptabel ist. Jedoch war dieses trocken und preislich unangemessen, sowohl qualitativ als auch quantitativ. Es hat schon geschmeckt, aber es war nicht schmackhaft.

the sushi is so great! everything is so incredibly tasty and looks fantastic. The staff is nice and sweet and quick and helps you where necessary. In short, a very nice restaurant where we would like to return! just a bit of a shame about the drinks menu. We had hoped for cocktails, but it turned out to be an iced tea as they had no cocktails, only Japanese plum wine, sake or pilsner. As if they almost advise against drinking alcohol. It is a great restaurant for sushi takeaway, but you still miss some ambiance inside

Best vegan sushi we've had so far

The sushi dishes we ordered were good, the miso soup mediocre. Gioza were nice as well. Prices are ridiculous - more than 20 euro for a dingle roll, upwards of 40 for a full meal. Service was well meaning but not very professional.

First time we try vegan "sushis" and it was an amazing experience! Really good recipes well cooked, perfectly served in a cosy place. Makes me want to come back! Careful with fresh wasabi, it's delicious but really hot :)

Meilleurs sushis que j'ai mangés de ma vie. Les recettes sont vraiment recherchées, très bien équilibrées et les portions sont copieuses. Très bonnes boissons maisons, et plats d'accompagnement vraiment délicieux. Allez-y les yeux fermés.

If you’re a vegan visiting Amsterdam you absolutely have to eat here, amazing food and much more reasonably priced than a lot of the other vegan places

Every signature rolls I tasted had a very distinct delicious taste . As someone who does not fancy soya sub on vegan option, I was blown away by all the options the restaurant offer. Chef Nodoko prepared every dish with special attention to the details and food is ready very fast. Overall a lovely location, out of the busy center of Amsterdam. The very friendly Team is another reason I will visit again .
