Venster 33 in Oude Pijp

6th of December evening. Rude bouncer guy at the door. I was waiting there for a minute outside of the bar by one of the tables, to enter inside once my friends come. There was no one sitting in any of the tables nor i was blocking the entrance. He came and told me to leave by saying ‘they need to keep that area blank’. So i have to wait for my friends in another street? Doesn’t make any sense. I wont be coming here again for sure. Neither my friends.

We stopped here for a quick bite on our way back to the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, the drinks were excellent, and the food was delicious.

As always (because I'm a regular here), my companions and I received a warm welcome. The lunch was delicious, and the fries are fantastic. The service is pleasant, and we'll definitely be back.

Had to wait 45 minutes for some bitterballen, and the waitress acted like it was the most normal thing in the world—no apologies, nothing. That's not hospitality!

Super quick and proactive service and great food and drinks

We had a lovely evening. When making a reservation, please consider whether you'd like to sit at a high table. We don't like that, and thankfully, it was resolved well, but it would be nice if this was made clear right away when you made the reservation.

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic evening here tonight! It was busy, but our drinks still came very quickly. Our server, Louisa, was super sweet, and our server, Alex, was a nice guy too. A 10/10 place, I'll be back soon. (It was a bit warm, though.) #puttheminthesun

We stopped by around lunchtime. The menu was limitted, but everything we tried was cooked really well. Also, the place had a nice vibe.

Had a wonderful time with a group of friends, fantastic service!! Huge venue, suitable for almost any group size. Because it's such a great place, it gets busy, so if you want to be sure of a spot, make sure to reserve!

Went for drinks. It was fine. Kitchen was a bit loud at times, but not constantly.

The atmosphere was as advertised; the service was "ok" - not too fast, not too slow. The food was hit or miss. I had the scallop risotto and it was crunchy (never good for risotto!) and there was less than a full scallop mixed in with the risotto - disappointing, to say the least. The bao buns we yummy - highly recommend. Overall, this is a locals hangout, with room for a few tourists. There are other places I'd rather go before I go back here...

It’s one of the cool affordable restaurants in De Pijp! We had smash burger and taco. Both very delicious.

Cozy, busy, and atmospheric spot! The burger was great, the scallop risotto was delicious, but the scallops weren't recognizable as such... and of course, it's in a nice neighborhood in Adam!

A lovely menu with plenty of options, both classic and international. Friendly staff and a very cozy setting, both indoors and outdoors.

Of the four main courses, only three were good. Not recommended as a restaurant. It's a nice place for a drink, though. The outdoor terrace is lovely.

I had drinks with my girlfriends last night, and everything was absolutely fantastic. The vibe, the delicious wine, and especially Huub, the fantastic server! #giveHuubextratip

Unbelievably rude and arrogant owner and staff, well beyond the customary Dutch lack of manners / courtesy / social graces. Literally appalling. Plus unbearably noisy and crowded terrace, squeezing every inch of space to make $$$. Menu is printed only in Dutch (makes sense in a tourist trap like Amsterdam), and offers rather few, overpriced, choices. Do avoid if you respect yourself at least a tiny bit.

I have been here few times and always liked the place and the food. But yesterday I ordered a burger which was tasting a bit strange. I thought it was just some sauces. Well, at night it turned out that I got a food poisoning, so probably something in it wasn't fresh. Nachos were good though.

It is one of our favorite affordable place to hangout with friends. The outside has heaters that makes easier to stay outside. The prices are affordable and the taste of the dishes are good.

We only had drinks, which were delicious, well-balanced, and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly but not very attentive, so we had to wait a bit before ordering and paying.

We came here on a recommendation, but we weren't satisfied. You can find this smash burger in many places, but not many places charge the exorbitant €22. It's not worth it. I can't comment on the Bitterballen beyond its standard.

The place is nice and the food and drink menu is fine too, but it's a bit pretentious in its atmosphere and that detracts a bit.

Had a reservation so no waiting time. Very busy with lots of noisy youngsters. Staff is more joking around with each other than paying attention to the customers. Were at our table twice with the wrong order. Had to ask twice to take the order for the main course. Only 4 main courses. Redfish was well cooked and tasty. Underneath cold vegetables with cold potato salad is a strange combination which made the fish get cold quickly. Lava dessert was good. Food was not that expensive, hence probably the youngsters.

Well, we had made a reservation but didn't get to eat. We were welcomed by a young lady who was so uninterested and indifferent that we left again. She was very busy with friends who were sitting on the terrace. So, we ended up around the corner where they greeted us with cheerfulness and warmth.

I don't recommend anyone to eat here, it's clearly about 1 thing and that is not good food in a nice setting. The food was way below average and the wine really not good. Heard from people next to us that the inspection service has closed this kitchen because of hygiene. Well, nice:)

very good nachos! be aware, the jalapeño is spicy and there’s lots of it. one of the waitresses ignored us, forgot about us, didn’t confirm our order and just left mid-order but i mean the other one was really nice.

On Saturday April 12, 2025 (I was there around 11:00 or 11:15 am) I had lunch early (I just thought it was a shame that Cas Jansen wasn't there.) The lunch was delicious burrata. That's why I now give 3 stars, hopefully one day 4 or 5, only for the food I now give 4

The waiter spoke very quietly despite the ambient noise, and he made no effort to make himself understood even though he understood that we were tourists. Otherwise the setting is nice and the neighborhood too. We ate well.

As a seasoned espresso martini drinker, I had high hopes for this. But ground coffee powder over the crema layer? With every sip I got bitter, grainy bits in my mouth, a real shame. Especially if the grind is too coarse, it will not work as a garnish at all. A little cocoa or cinnamon would have been much better. Taste and experience should go hand in hand, this actually detracted from the drink...

Made a reservation for a drink with a group of 20. Contact via email was quick and clear. Service on the evening was also quick and good. We had a great time.

I have been coming here for years and the service is always friendly, the service good and the food delicious. A nice place where you know it is always good!

Delicious food and nice place to sit!

Bad experience, unfriendly and rude staff. We were sitting on the bar next to the order preparation area. We've got a whole coffee spilled on one of our jackets. They offered a very generic apology and nothing more. On top of that they don't know how to prepare a negroni. Instead of campari they are using aperol.

Impolite staff and watery cocktails-simply don’t go

Worst bar ever!!! Very dirty bar and impolite staff! First they brought us wrong drinks but without admitting that they were wrong. To be more specific we ordered negronis and they poured Aperol, maybe believing that we won’t understand the difference (I really don’t know). Secondly, they spilled a drink on my back. Of course that happened accidentally but the personnel didn’t do anything until we asked for a towel, which was VERY dirty. Just avoid this place, there so many other options around.

Everything was perfect apart from the drinks and the service. Luckily, we had no food. The best part was to sit outside for a smoke. I highly don't recommend 😀

Great spot to have a chilled drink and bite to eat. They have gluten free bread so can change things in the menu to be gluten free. We had the burgers and they were well made and a good portion size.

Local muito agradável. Bons snacks e boa cerveja. Atendimento 5 estrelas. Ambiente jovem e informal. Recomendo rolinhos de queijo (Spring Roll Cheese Sticks).

Had an absolutely great evening visiting Venster 33! The food was excellent, we took the carpaccio and burrata for starters and pulled chicken buns for mains. Everything was delicious 😋

Dishes can be disappointingly small. We actually sent back a sandwich with Tuna Salad, because it was only 1 single thin slice of bread with tuna salad for € 14,00. That is ridiculous!!! They do seem to make odd choices, because what would an extra slice of bread cost them? Also the coffee comes with a brownie that is almost laughably small. I think it would be better to not give a complementary cookie at all, then to serve this…

Cozy atmosphere. Nice dimmed light in the evening. For gluten-free options: only the steak and the smash burger with gluten-free bun. The fries were divine.

Cozy and crowded places especially on weekends. Stuff was kind and cheerful. I recommend you to try ijwit beer :)

Disappointing experience with a 'smash burger' I had high expectations when I ordered a smash burger, but unfortunately the experience fell far short. The burger was anything but 'smashed' - it looked like they had simply served a standard burger. This feels like deception, especially if you respond to a popular trend on the menu. Why put something on your card if you can't make it happen? In addition, my friend's sandwich was burnt, which only added to the disappointment. It seems like more attention is paid to following trends than to the quality of the food. A shame, because the concept had potential. Hopefully they take this feedback to heart, because a little extra care and attention can make a big difference

After getting a drink spilled all over my pants there was a small apology but I needed to ask for a towel (and got some paper napkins after two minutes of waiting) and tell them to wipe the floor (because they didnt make any attempt to dry it) and when they did that they wiped the table with the same cloth which is just disgusting. After telling them that this is not okay, they wiped the table again (not without being annoyed about it) and except for not getting charged for the drink there was no accommodation whatsoever. Not even something like “anything we can do for you?” or another apology when we left. Also we got the bittergarnituur, which was overpriced and not even good. So definitely never again 👎

Unfortunately, while being served, a drink was spilled all over my friend's pants. no real excuse, just one totally overwhelmed Server. A few makeshift napkins were handed out, no questions asked if there was anything they could do. After my friend told the staff that the floor was completely wet, it was dried briefly with a towel and after the floor was finished the table was wiped with the Same Towel (!). We asked for the table to be cleaned, wich was done with a feeling of annoyance. The spilled drink was not charged when paying, everything else was. No sincere apologies, no questions asked or anything other than free wet pants. Absolutely unprofessional and rude. Starters were deep fried and drinks weren't too outstanding either.

I don't often eat at cafes that also have a limited menu, but I was attracted by the outdoor seating (and indoor was as good as empty anyway). I had a vitello tonnato to start and a bun with pulled chicken as main course. Both delicious, and served by very friendly personnel!

Fatal They cheated me and my colleague and charged us €7.50 for each of the bottles of water we ordered, when everyone knows that here in Amsterdam water is free. They didn't even give us an explanation. We paid €15 for two waters!! We won't be back.

Good portion size the Korean chicken is a must try

Very nice local place to eat in Amsterdam! Good atmosphere and amazing food. We had several things to share, but especially loved the nachos, the fries with truffle, and the chicken with Korean sauce. I will definitely go back!
