The place is nice and the service was very good, but the wait for our burger and chicken was completely unreasonable. Plus, we were the only people in the restaurant. The bread on my chicken was a little burnt and hard around the edges. They don't have the best drink on the menu because they say it's hot and it would melt! It's exactly the kind of drink you'd have on a hot day.

Great outdoor service friendly staff, reasonable priced, id say this is outside the tourist trap zone of Amsterdam.

Ordered fried chicken bites with tauge is horrible. Coating it self is very thick like a frozen chicken from supermarket and the price of it is not acceptable . KFC has better fried chicken. 😪

Slow service and no split bills

Amazing bar, great place to sit outside and also inside. Very nice chill bar where people are able to sit together and really talk. Amazing atmosphere it feels completely natural and unforced, with great value drinks and food. Great location and really a nice spot to go with all your friends.

Lars is a real buddy, a good beer for sure. Expensive sometimes, but Lars, you're a star. I love Lars.

went in here and we ordered two irish coffees that were heavily doused in alcohol, like 3/4 shots in one cup?? we wanted to get food here but the service was terrible as no one even came to get our order while they attended ever other table, mainly the table that had loads of people. very unpleasant and we went up to pay and left and they never asked if everything was okay or took our food order. plus all the restaurants in that area have similar if not the same menu bar one or two things..?

My bill showed 28 euros, and the ATM machine showed 28, but 38 euros were withdrawn from my bank account. 10 euros more than thieves.

I have been here few times and always liked the place and the food. But yesterday I ordered a burger which was tasting a bit strange. I thought it was just some sauces. Well, at night it turned out that I got a food poisoning, so probably something in it wasn't fresh. Nachos were good though.

This restaurant was fantastic. The service was excellent. I recommend trying the ribeye. The espresso martinis were great.

We’ve been there because of a friendly post on instagram. Place is nice, food is fine, waiters are nice too but… the service is random. > arrival, more than 10min without menu cards, and had to call them to order > I choose a course to learn minutes after it’s not on the menu anymore > I choose something else, I ask to remove lettuce for a specific reason, the course arrives full of lettuce > after we finished eating, we stayed more than 15min with empty plates under the nose. The waitresses going around the room, seeing us but not taking any action > last but not least, please clean your plastic menus, they are absolutely soiled (all of them). We almost could guess what people before us ordered…

One of my favorite bars in Amsterdam! I've been going there since I moved to the city, and every time I bring a friend, they love it. Also, I have organized bigger events there as well, and it was always great - delicious cocktails, fun snacks and nice vibes!

Everything is amazing except the one Karen of a security guy bro. If you know the guy ure allowed to smoke infront of the place if not he keeps bothering you for the rest of your night. This guy bothered us like four times in the time of three hours the first one we weren’t allowed to smoke where the terrace is basically where everyone is smoking only he talked to us for some reason. Second was that we weren’t allowed to sit at the tables outside for some reason??? They’re there for a reason the place was open like??? And the third time we were standing outside basically having a little chat and he asked us to move further from the bar. Such a weird guy honestly a vibe killer. This bar deserve a much better security guy then this whatever he thinks he is guy Amen.

Terrible service. Waited 10 min had to ask if we could order and then drinks never showed up. Witnessed another customer asking if they could order as well. Servers were all talking and visiting in the corner. Finally left after 20 min and drinks never arrived.

We probably stumbled upon an evening where the organization of this establishment wasn't quite right. Just before Christmas, we stayed at a hotel in Amsterdam's De Pijp district, and based on the good reviews and photos on Google, we decided to dine at Venster 33. It's a trendy spot, nicely decorated, and completely contemporary. It was busy that evening; the place was packed with twenty- and thirty-somethings who seemed to have come mainly for drinks, as almost no tables were set for a meal. Some were also playing cards or something similar; the atmosphere was more like that of a cozy neighborhood pub than a restaurant. After being shown to our table, it took fifteen minutes for a staff member to come and take our drink order. He disappeared as quickly as he had arrived, and we had to call him back for the menu. He seemed surprised, but our goal was definitely a bite to eat, not drinks. My partner ordered the Korean Chicken as a starter, followed by the pork belly bao (touted as the house specialty), and I opted for the burrata, followed by the catch of the day, which turned out to be Red Gurnard, a fine fish with many uses. Then the long wait began... Given the crowd, the staff were clearly overwhelmed. Finally, after at least half an hour, the starter arrived. The reviews include beautiful photos of these dishes, so they certainly know how to do it here. But what we received was barely presented and resembled a snack more than a proper starter. Unfortunately, due to the crowd, it wasn't possible to get anyone to come to our table and comment on it. "Well, maybe a nice main course would make the meal worthwhile after all," we thought. Our patience was also tested for the second course. When I managed to speak to a member of the staff, he told me the chef was having a bad night. Just as we were seriously considering asking for the bill and leaving, the main course finally arrived. The red gurnard was slightly overcooked and served on a bed of potato wedges and bell pepper. Unfortunately, the flavor of the fish was somewhat lost in the onslaught of spicy vegetables and spices. The chef's specialty, the pork belly buns, was subpar. We thought two pork belly slices had been pan-fried, and the baos looked more like they'd been left in the oven for a while than steamed. They were tough and dry. We decided to forgo dessert. The bill was over 75 euros per person, not normally a high price, but for what we received, it was truly excessive. Given the score and other reviews, we assume we were unlucky, but that's all I can say.

In a country where most has no taste, this is where everything tasted excellent.

Disappointing. Service was mixed. Someone came quickly to take our drink order, but then it took another 20 minutes to flag someone down to get food menus. Perhaps the issue was that there were three different people that came to our table and maybe they didn't communicate. We ordered bread as an appetizer and two mains. The bread never came. The mains were not that great. The scallops risotto was tasty, but there was the equivalent of one scallop broken up throughout the dish. The cauliflower main was cold to luke-warm at best.

Very good food and great atmosphere - mostly seemed a locals hangout in December. Exceptionally good Korean fried chicken - get sauce on side so you can better control how much you want. The smash burger was very tasty and the fish of the day, Red Mullet was very fresh and very good. The Venster 33 beer on draft was perfectly balanced. Even though it was crowded, the service was excellent.

6th of December evening. Rude bouncer guy at the door. I was waiting there for a minute outside of the bar by one of the tables, to enter inside once my friends come. There was no one sitting in any of the tables nor i was blocking the entrance. He came and told me to leave by saying ‘they need to keep that area blank’. So i have to wait for my friends in another street? Doesn’t make any sense. I wont be coming here again for sure. Neither my friends.

We stopped here for a quick bite on our way back to the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, the drinks were excellent, and the food was delicious.

As always (because I'm a regular here), my companions and I received a warm welcome. The lunch was delicious, and the fries are fantastic. The service is pleasant, and we'll definitely be back.

Had to wait 45 minutes for some bitterballen, and the waitress acted like it was the most normal thing in the world—no apologies, nothing. That's not hospitality!

Super quick and proactive service and great food and drinks

We had a lovely evening. Do keep in mind when making a reservation whether you want to sit at a high table. We don't find that pleasant, and fortunately it was resolved well, but it would be nice if this were clear immediately upon making the reservation.

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic evening here tonight! It was busy, but our drinks still came very quickly. Our server, Louisa, was super sweet, and our server, Alex, was a nice guy too. A 10/10 place, I'll be back soon. (It was a bit warm, though.) #puttheminthesun

The atmosphere was as advertised; the service was "ok" - not too fast, not too slow. The food was hit or miss. I had the scallop risotto and it was crunchy (never good for risotto!) and there was less than a full scallop mixed in with the risotto - disappointing, to say the least. The bao buns we yummy - highly recommend. Overall, this is a locals hangout, with room for a few tourists. There are other places I'd rather go before I go back here...

Of the four main courses, only three were good. Not recommended as a restaurant. It's a nice place for a drink, though. The outdoor terrace is lovely.

Unbelievably rude and arrogant owner and staff, well beyond the customary Dutch lack of manners / courtesy / social graces. Literally appalling. Plus unbearably noisy and crowded terrace, squeezing every inch of space to make $$$. Menu is printed only in Dutch (makes sense in a tourist trap like Amsterdam), and offers rather few, overpriced, choices. Do avoid if you respect yourself at least a tiny bit.

It is one of our favorite affordable place to hangout with friends. The outside has heaters that makes easier to stay outside. The prices are affordable and the taste of the dishes are good.

We only had drinks, which were delicious, well-balanced, and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly but not very attentive, so we had to wait a bit before ordering and paying.

The place is nice and the food and drink menu is fine too, but it's a bit pretentious in its atmosphere and that detracts a bit.

We came here on a recommendation, but we weren't satisfied. You can find this smash burger in many places, but not many places charge the exorbitant €22. It's not worth it. I can't comment on the Bitterballen beyond its standard.

Had a reservation so no waiting time. Very busy with lots of noisy youngsters. Staff is more joking around with each other than paying attention to the customers. Were at our table twice with the wrong order. Had to ask twice to take the order for the main course. Only 4 main courses. Redfish was well cooked and tasty. Underneath cold vegetables with cold potato salad is a strange combination which made the fish get cold quickly. Lava dessert was good. Food was not that expensive, hence probably the youngsters.

Well, we had made a reservation but didn't get to eat. We were welcomed by a young lady who was so uninterested and indifferent that we left again. She was very busy with friends who were sitting on the terrace. So, we ended up around the corner where they greeted us with cheerfulness and warmth.

I don't recommend anyone to eat here, it's clearly about 1 thing and that is not good food in a nice setting. The food was way below average and the wine really not good. Heard from people next to us that the inspection service has closed this kitchen because of hygiene. Well, nice:)

very good nachos! be aware, the jalapeño is spicy and there’s lots of it. one of the waitresses ignored us, forgot about us, didn’t confirm our order and just left mid-order but i mean the other one was really nice.

On Saturday April 12, 2025 (I was there around 11:00 or 11:15 am) I had lunch early (I just thought it was a shame that Cas Jansen wasn't there.) The lunch was delicious burrata. That's why I now give 3 stars, hopefully one day 4 or 5, only for the food I now give 4

The waiter spoke very quietly despite the ambient noise, and he made no effort to make himself understood even though he understood that we were tourists. Otherwise the setting is nice and the neighborhood too. We ate well.

As a seasoned espresso martini drinker, I had high hopes for this. But ground coffee powder over the crema layer? With every sip I got bitter, grainy bits in my mouth, a real shame. Especially if the grind is too coarse, it will not work as a garnish at all. A little cocoa or cinnamon would have been much better. Taste and experience should go hand in hand, this actually detracted from the drink...

Made a reservation for a drink with a group of 20. Contact via email was quick and clear. Service on the evening was also quick and good. We had a great time.

Impolite staff and watery cocktails-simply don’t go

Bad experience, unfriendly and rude staff. We were sitting on the bar next to the order preparation area. We've got a whole coffee spilled on one of our jackets. They offered a very generic apology and nothing more. On top of that they don't know how to prepare a negroni. Instead of campari they are using aperol.

Worst bar ever!!! Very dirty bar and impolite staff! First they brought us wrong drinks but without admitting that they were wrong. To be more specific we ordered negronis and they poured Aperol, maybe believing that we won’t understand the difference (I really don’t know). Secondly, they spilled a drink on my back. Of course that happened accidentally but the personnel didn’t do anything until we asked for a towel, which was VERY dirty. Just avoid this place, there so many other options around.

Everything was perfect apart from the drinks and the service. Luckily, we had no food. The best part was to sit outside for a smoke. I highly don't recommend 😀

Great spot to have a chilled drink and bite to eat. They have gluten free bread so can change things in the menu to be gluten free. We had the burgers and they were well made and a good portion size.

Local muito agradável. Bons snacks e boa cerveja. Atendimento 5 estrelas. Ambiente jovem e informal. Recomendo rolinhos de queijo (Spring Roll Cheese Sticks).

Had an absolutely great evening visiting Venster 33! The food was excellent, we took the carpaccio and burrata for starters and pulled chicken buns for mains. Everything was delicious 😋

Dishes can be disappointingly small. We actually sent back a sandwich with Tuna Salad, because it was only 1 single thin slice of bread with tuna salad for € 14,00. That is ridiculous!!! They do seem to make odd choices, because what would an extra slice of bread cost them? Also the coffee comes with a brownie that is almost laughably small. I think it would be better to not give a complementary cookie at all, then to serve this…

Cozy atmosphere. Nice dimmed light in the evening. For gluten-free options: only the steak and the smash burger with gluten-free bun. The fries were divine.

Disappointing experience with a 'smash burger' I had high expectations when I ordered a smash burger, but unfortunately the experience fell far short. The burger was anything but 'smashed' - it looked like they had simply served a standard burger. This feels like deception, especially if you respond to a popular trend on the menu. Why put something on your card if you can't make it happen? In addition, my friend's sandwich was burnt, which only added to the disappointment. It seems like more attention is paid to following trends than to the quality of the food. A shame, because the concept had potential. Hopefully they take this feedback to heart, because a little extra care and attention can make a big difference
