Il locale non è molto grande ma è carino abbiamo assaggiato una bruschetta e tre primi piatti: culurgiones, spaghetti alla norma e una pasta chiamata margherita, tutte buone e ben condite . Bravi

This place is amazing. I came a little bit late and I thought they would not let me in, but they allowed me in and made me a fantastic dinner. I ordered the pea soup and a ravioli. Both were very delicious and innovative in terms of ingredients and flavors. I ended my meal with some espresso macchiato. Would visit again and recommend it.

A slice of the real Sicily in Amsterdam. The staff offer a truly warm welcome, it is beautifully appointed with nice touches, the service finds the perfect balance between being unobtrusive yet very ready to provide good advice on the menu or in choosing the wine. The menu offers plenty of choice without being bewildering and the food is authentic. The freshly made artisanal pastas are heaven on a plate. The mix of home made authentic food and warm hospitality by Chef Vicio and the front of house staff led by Simone makes this an evening to remember and repeat. Grazie mille a voi!

A delightful experience with excellent food and atmosphere. The pasta dishes were very good and we had trouble deciding as there were so many unique options. This was the first time in a while I had to ask for our bill long after saying we didn’t want anything else. Different customs I guess.

Delicious fresh pasta and very beautiful restaurant!

Food was really nice, service was really mediocre. We had reserved upfront and still needed to wait for more than 10 minutes. When we sat down it took them 30 minutes to bring our drinks. We ordered a wine that needed to breath so asked them to open it already. When main dish was served the wine was still unopened and we had to remind them again that we would like our wine to be served. The acoustics where bad on the first floor, lots of noise.

I was on holiday in Amsterdam last week and stumbled across Vicio Il Mastro Pastaio, and wow, what a find. I honestly wasn’t expecting to have one of the best Italian meals of my life in the Netherlands, but here we are. This place is the real deal. Everything is homemade, from the pasta to the sauces, and you can taste it in every bite. The staff was super friendly and happy to explain the menu (and clearly passionate about the food). If you’re in Amsterdam and craving something comforting, flavorful, and genuinely Italian, Vicio Il Mastro Pastaio is a must. It felt like a little trip to Italy right in the middle of the city. Highly recommend!

Price quality service - perfect

I’m a big fan of Italian food, and I can always find great things to say about it, but to be completely honest, I was a little bit let down. The food is expensive, especially for the size of portion that I received. It was tasty, but I can’t say that it was worth the price. I got the vegetarian ravioli, and they were drenched in a creamy sauce that didn’t really taste like much. The ravioli themselves were ok. I suppose I ordered the wrong dish, but I was hoping that they would do a better job with it. Also, it sometimes felt like we were bothering the service staff when we requested some extra water, but that might be because the place was kinda busy.

Amazing place, we ordered Busiate mediterannea, bruschetta with burrata and tuna and special busiate with truffels, vodka and burrata and everything was just amazing. Especially busiate mediterannea-omg, so yummy, perfectly balanaced mix of shrimps, clams, almonds and eggplants-very special. Limonchello spritz wasn’t at the menu, but they did it for us and that was fabulous as well

Wenn man nicht von einem Ort stammt, finde ich es anmassend von "authentischer Küche" zu sprechen. Mit der Einschränkung, dass ich die Küche von Palermo und Umgebung nur als Tourist kenne, würde ich dieses Lokal als authentisch beschreiben. Ich konnte mich zwischen den Pastagerichte kaum entscheiden: Mit Ragú, mit Fenchel, "a la sarde" oder doch "al nero della sepia", ich glaub ich muss wiederkommen ;-). Selbstverständlich wird dazu passender Wein aus Sizilien serviert. Wir wurden als relativ grosse Gruppe hervorragend bewirtet, auch mit der nötigen Portion Sarkasmus auf forsche Gästekommentare. Alle waren zufrieden. Von Vorspeise bis Dessert hat alles gemundet. Sehr zu empfehlen

Siamo stati in coppia veronese/fiorentina a cena in questo ristorante siciliano. L'ambiente è molto raffinato e tranquillo. Tavoli ben apparecchiati e i ragazzi che lo gestiscono e vi lavorano sono veramente gentili e professionali. La cena è stata ottima, con la vera cucina italiana e siciliana, prodotti freschi e di alta qualità e pasta fatta in casa. Ottimi i vini à la carte. I prezzi per essere nella carissima Amsterdam sono in linea e proporzionati all' alto livello degli ingredienti, dell'ambiente e delle presentazioni. Consigliamo tantissimo per assaporare la cucina siciliana e italiana reali.

Vicio Il Mastro Pastaio is a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam that instantly makes you feel like you're in Sicily. Their pasta is incredibly delicious, and the menu offers plenty of vegetarian options as well. A must-try spot if you’re into real Italian food!

I can't say enough about the food AND service. Both were outstanding! I didn't have a reservation, but if you have more than one, I'd make one. The wine was perfect, the pasta exquisite and the pistacchiomisu was heavenly. Definitely don't skip!!!

A lovely little Sicilian restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. The homemade pasta with fresh truffles was absolutely delicious — rich, fresh, and full of flavor. We also tried the pistachio tiramisu, which was soft, creamy, and just melted in the mouth. The place is small and cozy, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were kind and attentive, making us feel right at home. A real treat for the taste buds — highly recommended!

Ristorante situato in zona Overtoon, non troppo distante dallo Zuid Park e dal Museum Plein, accoglie gli ospiti in locali caratterizzati da eleganza informale e atmosfera romantica. Il menu presenta una lista di tipici piatti siciliani, impeccabilmente cucinati e presentati in modo originale. Consiglio vivamente di provare la celebre Pasta alla Norma e il classico cannolo. Il personale è cordialissimo, sempre disponibile e, per chi ne avesse bisogno, prodigo di consigli. Qualcuno potrebbe trovare i prezzi un po' cari, ma costui ribatterei che sono adeguati alla qualità di servizio e cucina. Tra novembre 2024 e fine febbraio 2025, durante i miei soggiorni ad Amsterdam, sono stato tre volte ospite, una volta in dolce compagnia, e sono sempre rimasto soddisfatto, a tal punto che ho approfittato della possibilità di acquistare un voucher per regalare una cena ad alcune amiche che, a loro volta, sono rimaste anch'esse molto soddisfatte. Siete ancora qui a leggere? Non indugiate più e andate a cenare da Vicio, il mastro pastaio. Potrete ringraziarmi per il consiglio più tardi.

Cozy Italian restaurant with variety of good pastas. The only thing is that the Pasta Tartufo recommended by the waiter, didn’t have tartufo taste at all.

What to say? In a very popular area of Amsterdam one of the best Italian restaurant in the city. I felt like when I used to go to sicily for the summer as a kid. You cannot skip a plate of pasta and it s the main dish of the house, but to be fair any plate is hit! The only downside for me was that there was poor choice of wine by the glass. Definitely recommend to book.

The caponata was perfect! Both in taste and in temperature. The pastas were delicious perfectly cooked al dente. Good vibes and service with Salvatore! Bread was disappointing, only 2 slices of some cheap bread cut in half that was it. Did not try mains, hence the 4 stars too .

Everything is perfect: the food is delicious and very well balanced with ingredients, presentation and quantity, the service is perfect (you don t find easily this kindness, manners and its etiquette, the efficiency together with friendliness) and the atmosphere, in a restaurant that has colors, size, form, style and yes even temperature to make you feel very good taken care of! I was with my husband and fascinated by the place we decided to stop, and I can say we ate an extremely well-made typical Sicilian menu, and with a truly excellent selection of products. Of all things, I really appreciated the caponata, which was very faithful to our Sicilian tradition. I recommend everyone to try. Even the service with attention to every detail.

The food here is incredibly authentic, with excellent service—far better than most Italian restaurants in Amsterdam! If you love seafood, handmade pasta, and great wine, this is the place to be. The prices are well worth the quality. The only disappointment was that they didn’t have the black ink fish rice ball during my visit. I’ll definitely be coming back from time to time!

The good fortune of having friends spread across the world is that they can suggest the best restaurant for each city. In Amsterdam I was lucky enough to enter this restaurant where I ate divinely and where I can say I felt at home. A hospitable environment with attention to every detail. Chef Vicio...a person driven by a passion for everything related to gastronomy. I have already booked the next dinner for February 25th... so as not to miss the opportunity for another fantastic experience!

Had a great experience at Vicio: the food was unlike any italian food i’ve had in Amsterdam: the octopus as a starter was great, followed by the the self made pasta (Busiata). They paired the wines very nicely with the food and the service was amazing as well!

A corner of authentic Sicily in Amsterdam... Friendly, attentive, nice (and strictly Sicilian) staff. Dishes made with the highest quality raw materials, with a complexity and at the same time unique simplicity that made each course perfect. Right contrast of flavours, textures, unique combinations of unique ingredients, in addition to the beautiful plating which included a journey towards the colors and flavors of Sicily. The desserts were no different, on the contrary! Obviously the pistachiomisu strictly with Sicilian pistachio! And please note the zest of the cannoli in the ricottamisu!

The place is nice and the waiters are very attentive. However, the food does not stand out. Since the portions are small and the flavor is not impressive, it becomes an expensive restaurant (poor cost-benefit ratio). It looks authentic Sicilian, but I wouldn't go back. I think it should have about 4.3 stars, 4.8 on google is too much for this place IMHO. Review edit: I am editing this review as I cannot respond to the restaurant's response. I have lived in Sicily, so I know Sicilian food perfectly, and I feel fully qualified to give an opinion on the matter. As constructive criticism, I tell you in detail my appreciation: - Caponata: very delicious, the best dish we ate. Portion OK. - Octopus: very tasty but 2 tiny tentacles came. Although it is not a large dish in general, I usually order it and this is the time it was smaller. - Culurgiones ravioli al ragu - we both ordered this dish as we love ravioli. The ragu was bland and the pasta was not tasty at all. The portion was not too large. - Pistacciomisu - It was ok, it didn't stand out.

We ordered starters and main dishes. Everything we received was cold and bland; only the ravioli was okay. I especially don’t recommend the fish dishes here. We were quite surprised by the quality of the food after seeing all those good reviews. They also mixed up our orders twice, so we had to wait a long time. They brought complementary wine at the end to make it up, but I would have preferred to receive my food on time.

Very nice italian restaurant with lovely plates but I found it unreasonably expensive. I paid 26 Euro for a small plate of pasta. It is a lovely place but this unreasonable pricing is not justified, in my opinion.

CENA - La pasta de tinta de calamar, gambas tiernas, mejillones jugosos; pan casero (Spaghetone Nero, La Mia Grigliata de Pesce, Siciliana) - todos eran deliciosos. POSTRE - Chef también hace los postres. Su elección de 3 sabores de gelatina. El limón, la fresa y la granada eran increíbles! . El helado de pistacho era tan cremoso sin ser pesado en la lengua. ¡Y mi compañero no quiso compartir su Pistachomisú! VIBE - Gran equipo de 3 servidores trabajó en concierto en el comedor de arriba. Ambiente acogedor. Mesas cómodamente espaciadas. Noche de citas, artillero con amigos, cena de chicas, o cena individual - gran lugar para cada ocasión.

It's never easy to find a good Italian cuisine restaurant when you leave the country but we hit the mark with them! The staff were very helpful with us and our young son, taking care to prepare off-menu dishes that were suitable for him. The food was of high quality and the dishes well presented, if we had stayed in Amsterdam for several days we would have returned a second time!

Pasta portion is not too big, it is good size for lunch, but if you’re really hungry- it fits perfectly with starter + pasta + dessert.

Charming place, had a lovely solo dinner and the service was fantastic. I started with the bruschetta with stracciatella and tuna which was delicious. For my main, I had the ravioli, some of the best I’ve ever had! You can taste the freshness of the pasta. To finish I had the pistachio tiramisu, which was wonderful. Wanted to treat myself to a nice dinner in Amsterdam and glad I found this gem.
