I had the best time as a solo diner here. My server Bo (or Beau 🫣) was amazing. She extended great patience and gave me some really helpful recommendations. The food was amazing, the bread was warm and the crunch of the crust was such a delight! The only thing was, I was offered the bread whilst I waited only to realise I had been charged for it at the end, but since it was really good it was okay. The Ribeye was melt in your mouth and the dressing on the Caesar salad was to die for. Overall I had such a relaxing, friendly experience. Thank you for making my birthday dinner so lovely. :)

A group of five ordered different types of meat, all of which were excellent quality and delicious. The service was good, polite, and cheerful.

The wagyu was fantastic, I recommend the burrata which is surprising and delicious, we thank Luca for his service and advice.

We ate here yesterday and it was truly delicious. Everything was perfect, from the appetizers to the dessert. The service was friendly and good, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy. We will definitely be back!

Service was great and staff super friendly - although they constantly upsell you, which was annoying after finding out that bread and butter is almost 7 euro, and water 6.5. Selection of meats and beverages is great, but the good experience stopped there. The 600gr dry aged steak was 50% bone, undercooked and with no salt in sight. Fries were quite obviously not made in house, which is to be expected from a steakhouse, and the peppers were also undercooked. Overall do not recommend, save your cash and go somewhere else.

This is truly amazing food...not for vegans. The pork belly starter is out of this world. We also had a fantastic Christmas dinner...two years in a row now.

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly.

The food is good there. Delicious meat, prepared just the way you like it (medium/rare). The appetizers and desserts are also delicious. It's a cozy, atmospheric place with a lovely terrace.

🚨 The price-quality ratio is completely out of whack. Appetizers (sukade) cost 20 euros, which is no more than 2-3 teaspoons of meat. Then I ordered 850 grams of meat. At Vlees en Co, that means 1/3 inedible fat + 1/3 bone, then 1/3 meat and a huge mountain of fries. You even have to pay for water. Ultimately, I'm 170 euros lighter and leave ravenously hungry. Moreover, this restaurant is run by teenagers who have little understanding of hospitality or how to interact with guests. Go to Pelusa (across the street) or Bacalar (a 5-minute walk), but save your time, money, and effort going to this monstrosity of a restaurant. 🚨

We were celebrating a birthday, there were four of us. Three ordered meat and one ordered fish. Everyone who ordered meat felt sick after the meal.

Good quality food, nice location, quiet atmosphere, though crowded. The waiter repeatedly promised a starter of bread with some meat, but never received a response. We only asked for a drink once. Furthermore, the service took a very long time.

The place is nice and tidy but the service is bad they refused to seat us in the outdoor seating in a bad way and very bad treatment. We left and did not order

We shared a delicious variety of meats, paired with a lovely glass of wine. And the service was also pleasant and friendly.

Total score: 12 Food: 3 Service: 5 Ambience: 4 Summary: The asparagus was too fibrous and difficult to chew. The other beef and tomato salads were quite good. The steak was especially well-prepared, fresh and without any tendons. The only downside was that not every server was equally good. Overall, though, it's a good restaurant and highly recommended.

I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of respect these employees show towards their neighbors. We've contacted the restaurant several times to ask if the music could be turned down. Yet, the problem persists: after closing time, they continue to make noise and even play music outside, sometimes for an hour. This has been going on for quite some time, and we're experiencing a lot of inconvenience at home. Our one-year-old son often can't fall asleep because of the noise. It's extremely disruptive and disrespectful. I honestly hope winter arrives soon, so the outdoor area can no longer be used and we can finally have some peace and quiet again. Don't get me wrong: I know there's noise from guests dining or smoking outside; that's just part of the experience. But a little tolerance and respect from the staff towards our neighbors would be truly appreciated.

What a wonderful experience! I highly recommend it. The decor is beautiful, and the cozy atmosphere makes it perfect. And the meat? Velvet on your tongue! Every bite was a delight. The sandwich was also delicious. We'll definitely be back for more!

The Iberico spare ribs were perfect. Exceeded expectation, which was pretty high. Tender, flavorful, generous portion. Yum! The mini Caesar salad was also a delightful surprise. The quail eggs and finely shaved Parmesan really made for a wonderful bite. Lovely at sunset. Tucked away. Aaahhh…

We visited a restaurant called "Vlees & Co" (which basically means "Meat & Company" in English) in Amsterdam Noord. I'd noticed it about a year ago in one of the newer neighborhoods up there, and even from the outside it had struck me as a really lovely, well-decorated spot with a gorgeous terrace right on the water. It's a steakhouse, so yesterday we finally decided to go with some friends. Normally you can't reserve a table on the terrace, which had me a bit worried because it was a really warm day and we were hoping to sit outside by the water. But luckily, when we arrived, we got a spot on the terrace right away for our group of seven. The terrace is absolutely wonderful, and the interior is beautifully decorated as well. Great choice of materials, very charming. But that terrace on the water really steals the show. We ordered a Chateaubriand, some Sirloin F1 Wagyu AUS, and a bavette, plus a couple of kids' meals with chicken nuggets. We also had a nice bottle of red wine. The meat was top-notch, really excellent quality. As for sauces, we tried their chimichurri and something they call the "Butter of the Gods," which is basically bone marrow served right in the bone so you can spread it like butter, delicious. Everything was served with fries on the side, and the meat came on little grills to keep it warm while you share. The bavette was small. It should have weigh about 200 grams, to me it looked a bit on the small side if you're really hungry, but the person who had it didn't complain. We split the Chateaubriand and Wagyu between three adults and a child, and that also looked not too much to eat for hungry people, but in the end we filled up with fries, fried mushrooms, and some desserts. Speaking of desserts, we had the Vlees&Co x Patrick Wu signature desset: a brownie with chocolate, caramel banana tamarind, and bacon (amazing!), a cheesecake, and the yuzu passion fruit cake that was super fresh and tangy. All in all, the food was delicious, the place was beautiful, and the service was good, not five-star luxury service, but definitely nothing to complain about. I'll probably be back next time I’m in the mood for some really good steak!

We had a delicious meal tonight at a lovely location in Amsterdam, with very friendly service. Definitely recommended if you, as the name suggests, love meat.

We eat here every year for my son's birthday (yesterday included) and sometimes in between. And the food, especially the meat, is always top-notch! It's also worth mentioning that my daughter is vegetarian (no meat, but fish) and loves the salmon or Camembert :-). So that makes for a wonderful dinner every time. The service is fantastic, friendly, and attentive, even when it comes to the little things. So, if someone orders a Coke, we always have to discuss which one. While it's often just served (Pepsi or Coca-Cola, or something else—a minor detail for some, but for Coca-Cola lovers... :-) ). Highly recommended!

A "hidden gem". Very tasty food in a hidden spot. Really recommended. With starters like steak tartare and carpaccio a good start. Excellent bavette, delicious tenderloin and in my case an incredibly tasty grilled Camembert. Delicious side dishes like green asparagus, fried mushrooms, fries with cheese. The colleagues with the salmon steak were also very satisfied. Definitely back again.

Meat is art and Vlees & Co Amsterdam certainly knows what art is. The spare ribs came off the bone easily, the bavette and rib eye were deliciously tender, the signature dessert consisted of special flavors that were surprisingly delicious together. In short, a treat! The ambiance is quiet, which makes for a nice dinner. The service was relaxed, sometimes a bit too relaxed, but if you approach them they are happy to help you. For the spare ribs, a grill plate with coals is good to keep the meat warm, but for other pieces of meat there is a chance that it will overcook. Fortunately, that was not the case with us and it gave a nice presentation.

This was honestly the best steak I have ever had which says something coming from Australia. This was so good that we HAD to thank chef Noah personally who was nothing but amazing and so kind. I also recommend having the veal sauce with the steak. Not only was the steak cooked perfectly, our server Santana was also incredible and attentive. Although it’s a little out of Amsterdam city, I 100% recommend you making the trip.

Food and service unacceptable slow (1,5 hour). Was not allowed to sit outside although terrace was half empty. Lot of operational problems with this place. We overheard all kind of problems from other guests while in this restaurant (wrong food/cold fries etc). End at the end we went sick (meat not fresh). We payed €120, it was all a waste.

Our experience at this restaurant was not very pleasant. The girl who served us was very surly and not nice. She responded very briefly to everything and showed no interest. We asked for a fanta and the waitress responded with “I have sisi”, not very polite! The food was tasty, but we had a piece of meat that was completely overcooked. Another sweet server resolved this well with us. The rest of the staff was very nice except for that one grumpy girl.

Hidden place with good meat , can sit by the water outside as well! The way the meat is presented makes it more original, starters were nice as well. Only thing is the place is quite far away from everything so it’s not convenient to get there .

Ambience beautiful, staff nice and good. However, I have never been served meat that bad. There is still much to be gained in terms of quality and preparation. I don't understand the slogan "best steak house in..." This was the first and last time

Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The ribeye consisted mainly of a large piece of fat and what little meat was left on it was tough and almost impossible to chew. The meat was served on a small grill, but the coal under the grill had completely burned up leaving only ash. The pepper sauce didn't taste like anything and didn't make the dish any better. Overall a disappointing experience. We won't be coming back here again.

The atmosphere is fine, good service, beautiful decor, but the food is substandard. The slider burgers were cold inside and tasteless. They were supposed to be 2 different burgers, with different flavors but both had no taste. Ordered the chimichurrie sauce with the main course, which should not even be called chimichurrie. Very special, different taste. The main course was also a tasteless piece of meat. The aim of this restaurant is to become the best meat restaurant in the Netherlands, which they will not succeed in this way. First let's try to become the best restaurant on the NDSM site and then look further. That is quite a challenge.

I went two times, only wish I'd found the place earlier (maybe my bank is happy I didnt)... it is well worth splashing out on though ! First night I had a starter and main, second time just a main. Atmosphere only loses out as I went early and it was quiet (Wed & Thur at 1700)... but i like eating early and alone !!... try it, I'm certain you won't be disappointed.

I personally wouldn't come back here again. When we received the menu, it was immediately stated that 3 (the best dishes) of the main course were no longer available, this on a Sunday evening at 8 o'clock... we had ordered bread in advance, there are no mini plates served with bread so the entire table was covered in crumbs, but it was not cleaned all evening...

The carpaccio is great and the tenderloin is delicious with the sauce. Friendly and helpful staff. You can also sit by the water, so that is a plus.

Had dinner here with a group of 22 people on a Saturday evening. Super staff who thought along and had everything under control. Delicious food. Ribeye melted in your tongue. We had a very nice evening and would definitely do it again.

Nothing to complain about. The food is great! Meat cooked to perfection, side dishes are delicious, service is excellent, the ambiance is great and the price quality ratio is good. We have already made a reservation!

The staff did their best to make something of it. Unfortunately, the order went wrong, so we had to wait longer. Initially received something different than ordered. Management did come to apologize, which was to her credit. The power went out with a big bang, but it was resolved again. We didn't make much of it because we had the time anyway. Beef tenderloin was of very poor quality in terms of meat and meat structure. I've actually had better ones in my carnivore life. Ice cream is always delicious, but stop with those almost obligatory crumbs. A "Crumble" like that ruins the ice cream... come up with something new. The main negative for me: everything is prepared without salt, even the herb butter. Looks like a retirement home. Conclusion: Very poor, salt-free food for way too much money. Looks like the owner is aiming for a flat in Monaco. My sincere advice: In terms of location, you do not have a prime location. More of a place for a Chinese takeaway. I came to you especially because of my Google search: Best meat restaurant in Amsterdam... That was not the case. So come up with something really unique in terms of meat, preparation and/or presentation and buy a salt shaker for the kitchen... otherwise you won't last long in this place.

Nice and cozy atmosphere, good service. The food was very good, but in terms of price-quality ratio it could have been better... I had the wagyuh special... but it didn't taste like a 45 euro+ piece of meat... my wife's tenderloin for half the price tasted a lot better... Will I go back there again?? Yes!!

Location and service not much to complain about, just good everywhere. Only the disappointment of the amount of meat was very big. 1150 grams of sirloin and a 400 gram bone is just not okay. If it is then pointed out that this ratio is incorrect, there is a lame excuse stating that the meat is shrinking. Very unfortunate, but hopefully they can respond better to this.

Most amazing meat ever eaten! Wagyu is highly recommended, it is brought to the table on hot coals so it stays nice and warm. Desserts are amazing 10/10

Disappointed in the quality of the food and poor service. I had high expectations for the food but unfortunately... The sirloin steak was dry and there was little flavor to the meat. Quality meat with a skilled chef can also make a juicy well done steak. What mainly let down the experience in this restaurant was the service of the staff. They pay no attention to the guests and only sit behind the bar talking to each other and then forget your order. It took 1 hour for the main course to be served, while there were only 2 tables occupied in the entire restaurant, including my table. It's all very unfortunate.

A really nice romantic atmosphere/ambiance, nice view over the outdoor terrace and water. Never seen this side of Amsterdam North before and really liked it. Very friendly, pleasant waiter/hostess and of course the food and drinks are fantastic. I had 1 primitivo and Malbec with the meat...top. Japanese Wagyu.... worth repeating!

Really delicious food. The menu is not very extensive but more than enough to make a good choice. The wine list goes well with the meat served and the staff is very friendly. This restaurant is comparable to Loetje, which is next to it, but with a greater focus on meat. Fantastic experience.

Nice tent, hip and casual. Meat was extremely tasty. Starters a bit tasteless and the salmon tartare very little, the crouton was bigger than the salmon :/. Management did their very best and there is nothing to complain about.

Took my buddy out for dinner at this location on a weekday evening, had a very nice experience in this restaurant. The view is beautiful over the water, the food is really good and the service is also great. I will definitely come back here in the future!

We went to this magnificent restaurant a little outside the centre, but it was worth it both for the food and the wonderful service.

The big new pearl of Amsterdam North and way better than what you can find on NDSM. Better food, quieter atmosphere because you can talk to each other normally (sound-dampening walls and ceilings), and not crammed with x amount of tables. Service is very friendly, attentive and correct.

The website assumes a nice location on the water, which sucks, but inside the store you sit behind a partition in half darkness, so you don't get anything of the view. Small menu and what you ordered happens to be out of stock. Undercooked Brussels sprouts as a vegetable, even after a second attempt, with a chef who loves his creations. I was there with a guest who is a trained chef and has worked at the best French restaurants. He was also not pleased with the decoration, presentation and what was offered. Too expensive for what is offered and certainly not hospitable. Amsterdam certainly has better restaurants. In short, a lot has to happen if they want to see me there.

Took an Uber at 8:45 PM from Houthavens to this restaurant…. Kitchen would be open until 9:30 PM according to Google. Unfortunately, big mouth, big bye, shame about taxi costs. Maybe the food here is tasty, but we'll never know... For us big ZERO!

My friends and I decided to go on a trip to Amsterdam. I wanted to have dinner somewhere nice, definitely steaks. I found this place and made a quick and easy reservation. I was impressed with the staff who were super friendly and kind. The food and drinks were unique. On our next visit to Amsterdam we will definitely stop by again.

Time to update my review 3 years after the first visit. This has always been my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam, but now they have really taken a step up again. The meat has always been very good, but everything around it is also just right. What a gem in an unknown part of Amsterdam!

Food: We ordered two steaks, the ribeye and the picanha and both were really nicely made steaks. Service: Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. Good all around. Atmosphere: a bit quiet but it looks like it was going to get more lively as we left This is a great find for someone who's on this side Amsterdam

Price-quality ratio could really be better! a steak for 32.50 that is clearly smaller than a cheaper variant. Fries are standard catering level, some self-cut/fresh would not be out of place in such a caliber tent, which is what they want to convey through the prices. Then the mayo is probably also chip sauce from a plastic bottle! Not a single piece of vegetable, even if it is visible... Dessert is recommended, could be a bit bigger but tastes good! Service reasonable, they are not asked for drinks again, guests are huddled in a corner of the 1/3 full restaurant.

Delicious food and very pleasant staff, if you like meat you should definitely eat here once. Edit: 26-07-2024 ate with colleagues and unfortunately 2 pieces of tenderloin were cold inside "I think I waited too long until the main course arrived at the table, so the meat had cooled down" I also thought the fries were not warm enough. I thought it was a shame because I regularly visit meat and co, but yesterday I had a bad experience.

Had a delicious meal at Vlees en Co. Even for me as a vegetarian there were tasty options! We sat with our baby on the terrace in a quiet place. Well-trained service> big plus! You don't see that often these days, so it's highly recommended.
