The concept is pretty cool, even if the place is relatively small. Just be sure to save your drink for a second shot. However, the staff isn't very friendly, like the waitress at the first bar or the blond waiter who acts like a star and was particularly disrespectful—we experienced this firsthand. In short, we don't recommend it for this reason; there are much nicer places to go in Amsterdam.

Worth a visit, but too touristy for my taste; it's hard to get a smile out of the staff, and once you're served, they don't say a word... However, it's still a great place to visit.

The Icebar concept is original on paper, but the actual experience was disappointing. Beware in the Icebar area: Essential information that isn't provided before entering: you have to keep your glass frozen for your second shot. As a result, I lost a shot I had already paid for. Faced with this problem, many of the staff were unpleasant, especially the blond-haired waiter. We definitely won't be returning, even though we came with good intentions… In short, a very short experience, even if it was original. I definitely don't recommend this establishment.

We were there yesterday. I have to say I expected more. The room is very small and there isn't much to see. Our bartender was very friendly and generous with the shots. After that, you definitely felt the alcohol in your system. You get a cocktail beforehand, and then beer or shots in the ice bar itself. I would recommend finding a cozy bar in the city instead :)

A wonderful and truly cool experience in Amsterdam. Although similar ice bars exist in other cities, we really enjoyed this one. The staff were very attentive and in a party mood.

Found this place a bit of a con personally. Beer was cold that’s about it. You get a small glass cup which I thought was cool no pun intended but moulded in such a way that you got about 200ml of beer and I found that a bit cheeky having paid a fair bit to enter for such a short time.

As a young French couple, we were disappointed: The ice bar was far too crowded for its small size; we barely had room to turn around to take photos. We were also disappointed that not everything was made of ice as advertised. The floor and counter, in particular, were not ice. Finally, our biggest disappointment was that we didn't have time to enjoy our two complimentary drinks inside the Ice Bar, as we were only there for less than 20 minutes (the time it took for everyone to enter, order, and take photos). Furthermore, we weren't reminded beforehand that we were about to leave and therefore to collect the drinks we hadn't yet ordered. Fortunately, we were able to get these drinks, but in the regular bar area, which is nothing special. On the contrary, we were crammed in with people waiting their turn to enter the Ice Bar! Finally, the photos taken turned out to be quite expensive and cost money.

Unfortunately, the Xtracold Icebar was a bit disappointing. The ice room is very small, so with many people it gets crowded and uncomfortable very quickly. The bar inside the ice area is tiny as well, and there was only one bartender — which means you end up waiting a long time to get a drink. Overall, it felt underwhelming for the price/expectations.

Its so small once you get inside the actual ice bar itself-only 2 seats & its tiny. Noone stayed in there for more than 15 minutes it was that small & rubbish. Also, the guy who prints the pictures that get taken expressed to near by fellow citizens that he doesnt like the british and if that he had the choice he would put a sign up inside the bar saying 'no british allowed'. He said it loud enough for me & my partner to hear (we are british) he actually said it really loud to which him and his audience all proceeded to laugh hysterically then said something to them in his own language. Very racist. Very unprofessional. Never again.

Ice bar was such an inviting and fun experience despite it being FREEZING! Marco was especially incredible and brought so much personality and energy to his customer service

€25 euro which includes 3 drinks. The drinks are either a Heineken 1/3 or a pint or a shot. And the experience is like being in a large freezer. Terrible experience, incorrectly advertised and generally terrible experience. 0* would Not recommend

Let's start with the positives - staff were friendly, cocktails were yummy and I got the photos I wanted. Negatives - Very over crowded when taken into the ice bar..when we first got in there you couldn't move let alone take a photo! I used their gloves as forgot my own and they were smelly! Floors were also very sticky. Deffo more of a tourist trap then a fun experience. Wouldn't bother to go back unfortunately.

Bar was cool for the price. Marco at the front bar was super friendly which made the experience nice. The lady ‘Captain’ running the ice bar was super friendly as well. Not bad price for having 3 drinks! Ice room was a little small, and a little staged (not everything was made of ice).

Initially drawn to the polar bear by the entrance for a selfie, we were then captivated by the unique atmosphere! Drinking a shot in a frosty bar at -9 degrees Celsius... once inside, we found ourselves in a large walk-in freezer with melting ice, where our time inside was limited to 20 minutes! Luckily, the staff provided a warm jacket and gloves. After the initial "wow" factor and a shot of nougat vodka, we realized it was truly freezing and lacked a certain liveliness... in short, a curiosity worth experiencing, but nothing exceptional!

A wonderful and fun experience to share with friends. The organization was excellent, with entry divided into groups to avoid crowding the ice room. €22 for three cocktails is a truly great price. Recommended.

It was a fun and enjoyable experience. If you drink alcohol, it is great value for money. Although if you are sober, not so much. The ice room is beautifully decorated for those insta quality snaps but not big enough to really chill with your friends due to the number of people present. Definitely worth a visit none the less.

Dear ice bar, your pathetic excuse for a supermarket freezer does not count as a bar made of ice. The random B-tec captain Morgan pirate added a complete sense of confusion randomness. The constant repetition of the phrase "argh" added very little to the non-existant ambience that was there in the first place. Overall the experience would have been better if I decided to clap with poo in my hands. 1/5 one of my worst experiences in Amsterdam. If the owner responds by some chance, please don't bother with your fake copy and pasted response.

A completely freezing experience... you can't stand it for very long, the drinks are delicious, the cold is extreme and they lend you their jackets but it's best to come prepared with your own coats

Pretty disappointing more like a walk in freezer than an ice-bar. Coats and gloves provided where poor. Myself and my partner stayed for a total of 3minutes before giving away our drinks tokens and leaving. If you have ever been to a real ice bar - like in Sweden I would not recommend coming to this one in Amsterdam as you will be disappointed such a shame 😒

Very rude. First time in Amsterdam and honestly we are disappointed. Me and my partner went there for my 24th, not even in the ice bar for ten mins and a man tells us to “get out” the man was tall with long brown hair. Tells another group of men to “get out” if you aren’t drinking. Would not recommend if you want to save your money. Honestly it’s put a damper on the rest of the night as it upset me. (We didn’t do anything wrong to be told to get out)

We were a little disappointed… The concept is brilliant: immersing yourself in ice and having a drink with friends or family is a fantastic idea, except when it lasts only 10 minutes and there are 30 of us crammed into a 5-square-meter room. And then we're thrown out before we've even had our second drink inside the ice bar. Perhaps trying to maximize profits and accommodate too many people detracts from the quality of the experience.

The Ice Bar is a really fun experience, especially on a hot day — stepping into such a cold room is surprisingly entertaining! I think it’s decent for the price, but if you don’t enjoy the cold, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s definitely best with friends; I really enjoyed it. I would also suggest going in the evening rather than during the day. There’s lots of vodka and sweet cocktails, so it feels more fitting later in the day. Overall, a cool and unique experience!

It's a total tourist trap. The drinks were awful, we couldn't even drink them. The cold room is tiny, and they pack us in like sardines and you can't even walk around. Don't go there, it's a waste of money.

Go for it, it's amazing! Before going into the fridge, you wait in the pub with a free drink included in the entrance fee (25 euros I think), but it's hard to get served because it's so crowded.

Fantastic experience. Make sure that you get there 20 minutes before your slot so that you can enjoy a lovely cocktail in the 'warm' bar. The actual ice bar was really fun, although some people were complaining that they it was too cold... What were they expecting?! The staff were all great fun too, I would definitely recommend this as an unusual thing to do.

It's a scam involving tourists and a pointless scheme.

Not really worth the money. There’s just no space to stand let alone breathe. You only spend about 20 minutes in the ice bar which is really small and cramped, you’re rushed to get drinks, and before all this you have to wait in the upstairs bar for up to 20 minutes as well and then watch a few minute long video which makes the whole thing seem more exciting than it is. The only good part was the vodka shots and the lovely bartenders.

A really nice experience! We had a reservation, so we arrived on time and there was a maximum wait of 10 minutes. The speech at the hot bar was amusing and prepared us well for what awaited us: 20 minutes at -10°C. The drinks were very good, served in ice glasses, which was pretty cool!

A really fun experience! However, the signage isn't very clear, and it's easy to get lost if you arrive a little early. The time inside is quite limited, and you have to drink a beer before getting a shot... by the time you've finished your beer, they're already telling you the experience is over. Nevertheless, I'm giving it 4 stars because it's really fun and the staff is very friendly!

We bought our tickets through Tours & Tickets, highly recommended for any tour. We paid €30 per person, which included one gold coin equivalent to a drink at the first bar and two silver coins for the Ice Bar. The place is old, the music is terrible, they need to invest in the sound system, the speakers, and the quality of the music to create a better atmosphere. It's worth going into the small cabin, which holds about 20 people, with a temperature of -9.3 degrees Celsius 😅🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶 The cold is definitely something to endure ❄️. We opted for beer 🍻 served in frozen glasses, and for the second drink, a shot 😂😂. Before going in, they give you the option of putting on a jacket and gloves. Of course, we couldn't last the full 20 minutes of the experience, but it's worth it if it's something to do in Amsterdam.

Disappointed. The staff wasn't very friendly or understanding. At the entrance, they didn't really explain the concept. We were taken to a room/bar to wait for our time slot. Once our slot arrived, we were shown a promotional video that didn't correspond to the place at all, in my opinion. Once inside the ice cream bar, you have to queue for your "free" drink, which has a limited selection and isn't very good. The room is very small; you're constantly bumping into people, and you only have time to take two or three photos. It lasted 10 minutes tops. Be aware that photos with a camera cost €8, I think (for nothing). And when you come back inside, you can get a drink of your choice, but it's not good, and again, the staff isn't friendly. It's a shame; the concept could have been cool. 🤷🏼‍♀️

The concept is funny. For the price of admission, you get three coins: one gold and two gray. With the gold, you order at the pre-bar, which is at room temperature, and from there you're taken to the cold bar. It's a room at minus 10 degrees Celsius, and that's where you spend your other two drinks. The experience is supposed to last 20 minutes. I couldn't stand it... hahaha

While strolling around Amsterdam, we saw this bar and wanted to try it. But since we weren't planning on drinking, we didn't pay the 24 euros per person entrance fee. We couldn't stop in or grab a bite to eat.

Fantastic place. -10 degrees Celsius in the hall. The hall could have been a bit larger because people were pressing in from all sides. But other than that, it's a really interesting place worth visiting.

What an amazing experience 👏 the staff is amazing and make a really cool pirate atmosphere, feel like reel explorers. Cocktails are well balance , special mention for almond / Nougat vodka really delicious, highly recommend! If you are in Amsterdam this bar is a master class don't miss it.

It started with a quick cocktail, you won't get the time to finish your drinks while in the ice room. A quick 10 minute drink in a cold temp, don't waste your time. The second drink is a waste, you will not be able to finish or even get it. It's a money machine.

We booked and visited the Ice Bar whilst in Amsterdam for the week. Highly recommended if you have never been to one before.

I wouldn't recommend this, honestly you're best off putting your head in the freezer, at home. Lol. Probably the most pointless thing I've ever experienced. Pants

The experience isn't worth paying for. They don't tell you anything during the meal, the time is short, and the ice they give you is of dubious origin. Plus, you have to use the same glass for both drinks; they don't give you a new one. They don't warn you, so you drop it anywhere, and when you go back to order more, they tell you that you need it. When you go to get it, there are 203 other glasses next to it, so it's impossible to know which one is yours. If you go, don't let go of your glass.
