Delicious polder bread, but it is such a shame that the loaves are getting smaller and smaller. Stop this shrinkflation; they are now just tiny slices. This is simply unacceptable after yet another price increase.
Terrible place. Been there before and it was already enough to make you cry.
Yesterday, from at least 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the entire Grutstraat was allowed (read: forced) to enjoy their private party. The whole street was packed with diners, but Xava's blaring, forced music drowned out the entire street. It also got louder and louder, and a new record started every 30 seconds.
I expect it was a private party hosted by the owner or something. There were some very "peculiar" crowd there too. They should be ashamed of themselves!
I picked up pastries and rolls at Bakkjerij Braam in Zevenaar. The pastries were wrapped in a paper bag. It was raining quite heavily, so I asked for a plastic bag. 50 cents! Considering they already charge top dollar for a simple brown roll: 75 cents!! I didn't think that was okay; they are making a profit on a plastic bag that costs 5 cents.
Bad service, and that is a deliberate choice. There are plenty of bakeries in Zevenaar that do NOT do this.
No more Bakery Braam for me.
Wow, just had cold old soup. I asked the employee "is the soup cold" before I served it. She says no, it's warm. Afterwards, I offered to microwave it for me. But it is understandable that they do not have a microwave. What isn't there isn't there. But no one was eager to ask for my money back and they just stood there in amazement while I walked around with a cup of old soup for €3.99. So I just ran away. But I feel a bit sick from the soup that's why I'm writing this, the soup can't be fresher than 2 days. A real shame, because the soup seemed tempting with all those pumpkin decorations and a ceramic pot. And if the soup was fresh, it would have tasted delicious. And the idea is also nice in winter. But not the first time I was disappointed by back work, at a fair I once received a frozen croissant. Really pay attention before you take anything with you from back work, taste a small piece first and then pay. And take a good look at sandwiches before you take them. But if I have to put in so much effort, I might as well bring home some homemade ones.
Update: I just had the soup again. Delicious pumpkin soup, one of the best I've ever had. Everything has been handled well, sandwiches are well stocked. I could even choose a sandwich that was just running out.
If this were an Italian restaurant, I'd be the Pope.
Any Italian would be mortified by what's served here. Everything fresh from the freezer. From pizza crust to toppings. The staff walks from table to table with their pants half-down; it's not what you'd expect from a so-called Italian restaurant. The word "disgusting" is appropriate here.
Wednesday morning, I ordered three large cream cakes with the message "Grandpa Jan's 90th Birthday." And I paid.
Then my niece went to pick it up, and unfortunately, no cake!
It was delicious, so Grandpa didn't get any cake for his 90th birthday.
Now I have to find cakes for 30 people.
So, no more De Vocht bakery for us!
Dirk de Vocht has since contacted us, and Grandpa will still get the cream cake for his 90th birthday.
We are so happy with how this was resolved.
Thank you so much, Dirk de Vocht!
Good quality products when it's not too busy. When it gets too crowded, the quality declines. The products are a bit pricey, and the amount of sauce is sometimes too little.
