Got a crispy chicken sandwich for my husband and me.. After we finished it, we got sick almost immediately, and we also had to wait an incredibly long time.
The staff were not wearing gloves either and touched all sorts of things while making the sandwiches. Bad business.
Today I bought grilled chicken, and I wish I hadn't. The guy brought me yesterday's chicken, and the fresh chicken was still on the rotisserie spit.
When I asked him if the chicken was fresh, he said yes, but I swear I'm going to throw it in the trash. I'm never going back there again.
I'm a regular customer at Midnight Roti Shop Ypenburg, but unfortunately, the quality seems to be declining lately. Last time, the Saoto soup tasted strange, as if it were spoiled. The whole bag smelled bad. No apology, but I did get a refund. Today I had to wait over two hours for my order again. It seems they're currently taking too many orders. The roti itself is fine, but next time I'll probably have to order around 4 PM so it hopefully arrives before 7 PM. And no more tip.
The meal was good. The Brabant meatball didn't leave me completely full, but it was filling enough. They had forgotten the toppings for the children, only powdered sugar. After mentioning it, this was brought later. The croquette sandwich was good. In short, satisfactory, but room for improvement.
The food lacked depth of flavor.
The satay lacked depth. FoeYongHai's choice could not be entirely vegetarian. The pangsit did not seem fresh. And the delivery took 40 minutes longer than our choice via Thuisbezorgd.
The TjapTjoi was nice and crispy, though.
The shrimp satay is unique and distinctive.
For a place with subpar coffee and coffeemaking* skills at best, they have quite the balls to put little cards on every table and at the entrance with heaps of specific instructions and rules. These rules feel on the verge of hostility instead of hospitality: no laptops here, no working between these hours, must order a drink every hour (!!!!), must order something to eat if you're staying so and so long and so many more absurd rules. I understand that this is a cafe and not a public library but they are too rigid in their approach. If you don't like serving the people in the current state of fast paced life where a lot of us unfortunately still NEED to do a few things on their laptop and prefer to do that outside instead of at home with screaming kids or whatever, then don't open a place in the middle of Rotterdam. Yes, real human connection and interaction is a vital part of life but feeling like you're a toddler being disciplined by these passive aggressive cards is not it. Ugh. The wait staff is sort of friendly and their pastries are good. All in all I'd say this is one of the most unwelcoming places in Rotterdam (born and raised Rotterdammer for a few decades who loves to visit horeca). Do better please.
* the cappuccino's and latte's are obviously not made by a barista with skills. Thick, bubbly milk foam that's either too hot or too cold. All that could be forgiven if this place made you feel like they WANT your patronage.
Very fast delivery , it came in like 20 minutes or maybe shorter. Friendly delivery guy and the food was very warm and good. I also didn’t expect the one person portion to be this big and with sauce included ;)great place to order food

What a huge disappointment! The food was really terribly bad and totally unappetizing. A waste of my money. I took a bite and had to throw the rest away. Honestly, even my dog would probably turn his nose up at this. 😳
I really don't understand how you can serve this to customers. For this price, you expect at least food that is fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, that was absolutely not the case. For me, this was the first and last time I will order from here.
