De beste restaurants in Amsterdam

Friendly staff, even though they are very busy. But I didn't like the fries at all. Weird satay sauce, a bit sweet, and I threw away half of my container. Normally I never do this, but I had to pick out and search for the good fries; the rest were hard and greasy (double-fried?). Maybe it was also my conscience telling me to stop eating this, because it really didn't feel right to put this into my body.

So... I find it really hard to come up with a good review and here is why: we went for dinner at The Greek Embassy and boy did we have a great meal! The food is great! A 10/10! But... where to start with our thoughts on service? Yes, I know Amsterdam is not exactly known for its great customer service, but this experience was a big dissapointment. When we were sat down we waited quite some time for the menu, only to be told after we asked someone that the menu is to be scanned via the QR-code that is hidden on a small candle holder. Why not mention this to (in our case: first time) guests? Also, not one of the staff members came to check in on us during the night ("how is the food? Would you like something to drink? Everything OK? Would you like a dessert?", you know the drill...) and at the end of the night we were presented with the bill without anything being said... it felt kinda like: "get out of here please" (often they ask you: "our kitchen is closing, would you like a last round?"). And it is not the case that the staff members were unfriendly (to the contrary: when they brought our food we were met with a smile) but it is lacking the basic principles of hospitality: a smile and some small talk to make the guests feel welcome goes a long way...

I ordered Soato soup, but what I got was a small bowl of very bland broth with bean sprouts and 3 small pieces of chicken. It tasted like nothing!! Once I pointed this out immediately and politely, they all just looked at me and said, 'That's how we always make it,' and the owner walked away. Silence fell, and no suitable solution was offered, so I tilted the tray forward. You know what, you can keep it. Yuck!! Absolutely not recommended!!! Never again for me!

Top place, very friendly staff and they handle food cleanly, definitely recommended.

The atmosphere is good, the food was super tasty, and the service was good. Are you open Tuesday weekend at 3 in the morning?

Nothing to do with sports. Always loud people on the street standing outside smoking (sports?) even though there are tiles indicating that smoking is not allowed. They don't give a damn about the neighborhood and the residents; what a nasty place and nasty people.

Hotel bar, lights to bright also kind of bland

Waited an hour for one course. I ordered one dish at 18:28 online (because they don’t provide physical menu anymore 😅 and the webpage translation didn’t work at first. I had to scan the QR code for 5 times before it successfully translated the menu. And during this whole period my Dutch friend can only see the picture. They don’t know the cause. They just keep asking you to reload and rescan) Around 19:00 I asked the waiter again in Chinese to see if the course was ready. He replied that it’s coming soon. Around 19:25 I asked the staff at the counter to cancel it and they just canceled. No reaction or sorry when I said I waited an hour for that (and it’s not the first time this happened) Between 19:00 and 19:25 I tried to get the attention of the waitress (by waving my hand) and she just kept ignoring me. I felt like she’s so obsessed with cleaning the table and greeting the new customers and that’s where her eyes were focusing on. They were so busy with tourist groups all the time. When I cancelled the order and went back to the table, the couple next to us was also asking for one dish because they also waited for a long time. And the waiter was like: “oh we ran out of lamb. We forgot to tell you.” And that’s it. I literally laughed because it’s so funny. Will never come here again because it’s not even the best Chinese food. No food deserves this kind of treatment.

Oliebollen bakery without oliebollen. What a joke. They don't even bake all day long. What a disgrace.

Great service and very nice people!

Excellent kosher cafe inside the Jewish Museum. It is yotze v'nichnas, make your own decision. We ate there, it was all kosher. Rabbi Pesach
