We ordered three pizzas (salami, tuna, prosciutto) to take away today. Preparation time was only 15 minutes. They tasted great even after the short drive. We'd gladly order again.
Deining is a nice restaurant on the coast and we have been there a number of times over the past few years. Upon entering, we hardly recognized it; last year it was completely rebuilt from the ground up. It looks neat and 'slick' but has become slightly smaller inside. Fortunately, the fireplace is still there. There were seven of us at a 5-person table, so it was on the cramped side. They have gluten-free options and if they don't know something, they check. The service was polite and good, although sometimes we had to wait a little longer for the drinks, or the order hadn't come through properly. It is painful that when you ask for water, you get a: "Shall I put a carafe down?" and then receive a bottle from the tap, which is presented by the wait staff as "Spa Blue," for which you then have to pay 6 euros! The 'Spa Red' also loses its bubbles quickly because no cap is put on the bottle. A bit of a rip-off. The rendang is a nice portion, but not special. Probably 'pre-fabricated'. The biggest disappointment has to be the burger; I asked for it cooked "medium," otherwise it's a waste of the 'black angus,' and that was noted by the wait staff. Upon delivery, the burger was completely overcooked, made with very finely ground mince, and had very little flavor. Two burgers had bacon, but the third didn't. The so-called Parmesan shavings were missing as well. The sauce—truffle or barbecue—was served separately; I've never experienced that before. There was some arugula on it, but no tomato. Just a bland burger. How something so simple turns out to be complicated. Upon inspection of the kitchen, the burgers are grilled in the afternoon, then chilled, and then warmed up in an oven; that explains the uniformly overcooked state, without any fresh grill flavor. The pizza was OK, nothing special. The desserts were slightly better; the vegan Bounty was highly recommended, the Affogato was OK, but the quality of the ice cream was not special. Conclusion: I understand that the costs of an expensive renovation need to be recouped somehow, but 6 euros for a 'small carafe of Spa Blue' is exorbitant, and the quality of the food really needs to improve, otherwise they won't see me again.
Nice place, staff very friendly too, but the price/quality of the food left something to be desired.
Starter: beef carpaccio with arugula, or rather arugula with carpaccio. The meat was rolled around the arugula; if you separate the pieces of meat... you end up with a plate full of arugula with little to no truffle to be found, let alone Parmesan. The waiter came to ask for olive oil to be drizzled on the plate... I would look for a different solution for this... perhaps use a smaller pouring spout or put a small bottle on the table... 28 euros for this.
Main course: Tagliolini con polpette... 2 balls and a small pile of tagliolini in the middle... really expensive for what it is... and you really don't feel like you've had a full meal.
Conclusion: beautiful setting, friendly staff, but the food leaves a bit to be desired... we were left wanting more.
It is a real shame because the food is good. But the service and customer friendliness are truly substandard!!! We ordered the food on purpose at 16:00 so that it would be on time (18:45) for a birthday, and it just arrived an hour later. When calling, you were spoken to in a completely despicable manner. It went wrong last time too, but the food was good, which is why we wanted to give it a second chance. But now we are never ordering here again!!!!
edit: after reading some of the answers from the person responding to the reviews, you really have to ask yourself if you want to spend your money here!
I have been going to Alibaba Eethuis in Apeldoorn for years, and it is always truly top-notch. The Pasta Pollo is amazing and absolutely my favorite. The pizzas are also delicious, with a tasty crust and generous toppings.
The shawarma is truly absurdly good, and the fries are different from those at most other places, but that is precisely what makes them so incredibly tasty. In all those years, I have never had a bad meal here.
Additionally, the staff is always friendly, hospitable, and helpful. You really feel welcome there. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good meal in Apeldoorn!
The food is excellent, and the drinks are excellent too. However, we had an unpleasant experience today with the service of a young, blond employee. There were four of us, including two dogs, so we needed a table outside by the wall, which had just become available. However, two other people were given priority over us, even though they were already seated at their table, and were given a table for four. Since we were also waiting for the people who had gotten up, we left after the two other people were given priority and the waiter offered no solution after we spoke to him.
From a business perspective, this makes absolutely no sense for the restaurant! They lost four customers, moved two people to a table for four, and left a table for two empty and unused. What a shame!
Hello, I am Joost. My fellow travelers and I were picked up last night by Taxi Nabil. The taxi was prepared and arrived with military precision. However, it did not do the vehicle any credit that it had been struck by a flat tire. This was, however, resolved extremely professionally by Mr. Nabil. The return journey proceeded slowly but steadily; the maximum speed was no higher than 50 km/h the entire way back. The climate control was also in good hands with Mr. Nabil. We experienced both subtropical temperatures and various polar winds, which were perceived as very pleasant. After we arrived at our destination, we were kindly asked for a tip, which we naturally donated generously. After being dropped off at home, we were concerned about the outcome of the flat tire debacle; we are still debating this.
We had to wait an incredibly long time (almost 1.5 hours) for food (bavette), which was extremely red, not particularly flavorful, and not very warm. The fries were fine, but that was the only downside. Because of this, we decided to skip dessert. How do they manage 3 or 5 courses here? It must be like working late into the night.
If the restaurant had been full, I would have understood that the wait would be longer, but that wasn't even the case; the terrace was empty too, so all in all, it was a shame. A disappointment for us, especially considering the prices. I am speaking only for myself here; the rest of the group was perhaps even more disappointed.
