Had a really tasty chicken burger. Highly recommended. Great fries.

We were staying at the hotel where this brasserie is located, and one night we were too tired to go out, so we decided to give it a try. The service was pleasant and polite. The pace was normal for a European restaurant, though I can see how Americans might find it a bit slow. The food was actually better than expected—proving that low expectations can sometimes be a good thing! 😂 My husband, being hungrier, ordered a salad and a risotto, both of which he said were surprisingly good. I stuck to bar-style food: fried calamari and diner sliders. The calamari was just average, and of the two sliders (one burger, one fried chicken), only the burger was decent—the chicken was overcooked. I had a mocktail, which was underwhelming, and my husband had a beer that didn’t live up to the amazing Belgian beers he’d been enjoying earlier in the trip. All in all, it was not bad, but nothing remarkable either. The total bill was around $90 USD, which is about what you’d expect from a hotel restaurant.

Would give 10 or more stars if I could, I developed a very serious addiction to Johnny cake with chicken and cheese and Johnny cake bakijou cheese and their food in general and actually fighting the temptation to drive there right now. But everything they have is to die for delicious so I will probably not be able to fight the temptation for long 🤣 It has been 4 days since my last Johnny cake and the withdrawal is hitting badly now🤭 The cakes are to die for delicious too, whatever you try here you will be delighted, the struggle is really to pick something because it’s all to die for delicious!!!

On a recommendation from a colleague, I went to you today. I was surprised by the variety of options available, and it's also Halal... I was immediately sold, haha. I had a delicious sandwich with my colleague. The atmosphere was good, the music was good too, and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommended. Thanks.

I'm from America but moved to Amsterdam and don't have internet yet. I had to take a 7am CT call and this hotel had the only cafe open within walking distance (haven't purchased bikes yet) I got first rate service while sitting on my call, including a double espresso, two cappuccinos, and water. My hands are shaking but totally worth it. And I wasn't even staying in the hotel Def come to Issimo

Location and service top but the prices and food quality are not. Sushi quality is mediocre. Fried stuff is from frozen premade food. And 8€ for water is insane. Will not return and I don’t recommend this place. Price quality balance is definitely not met in this establishment.

At any time of year, the Ijsbreker is a great choice, from a quick drink to a full dinner... with a very well-situated terrace. Good standard items on the menu, excellent staff.
