In the past, I used to get the tastiest telo and soato soup here. But recently, I picked up my telo and got food poisoning. I was sick for 24 hours, vomiting and with stomach flu. I had to throw half of it away. I quit immediately.
How can the oliebollen stall at Bakery store Arjaans in Oldenzaal improve?
By listening to customers who complain, letting them finish their conversation, and by being polite. I couldn't get past "hello" or "good afternoon." I just wanted to say the oliebollen I got for New Year's Eve were great, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time with the apple fritters; something had gone wrong. I couldn't even explain what was wrong with all 15 of them, as the lady at the stall immediately defended herself by saying: "You should have come sooner, and my number is on the side. I don't listen to customers, and an apology would have been appropriate."
Especially when the customer says they don't want anything in return, but only reports the problem and says they did come back earlier, but they were closed then, and then the same defense is still unanswered. They won't see me again, and I come here at least three times a month.
Nowadays, you have to enter your order at a terminal, just like with a Mac. Soon, you'll be able to make your own pizza with your own ingredients and pay for them. That time will come, I promise.
What a terrible butcher shop! One ounce of smoked meat is 5 steaks with 6 pieces of plastic in between, and the bread was definitely not fresh. I think day-old bread is simply sold as fresh. And I won't even mention the friendliness; it's nowhere to be found.
Potato wedges and fries were undercooked. I ordered extra meat, but it wasn't included, even though I paid for it. The pita sandwich had only one slice of cheese or no cheese at all. And the pizzas were cold.
An elderly woman who was in the store with me was looking for an apple pie. There were five apple pies. Usually, you can choose which one you want. The woman wanted one that wasn't burnt (which makes sense). But the staff thought otherwise and tried to foist a burnt apple pie on her, arguing that they had to go first. Luckily, the woman refused and left the store without buying anything. I then left as well.
A cozy pub, just the way a pub should be: a few tables and standing tables with chairs and stools, a bar with stools, restrooms, and nice music (soul, poku's) that's not too loud, making it easy to chat. The terrace is permanently covered. It's directly across from the M54 Reigersbos metro exit. Friendly staff and a lively crowd.
One year later. We've landed there again from Limburg - and it's still an exceptionally cozy pub.
The price level at 't Klokje is reasonable by metropolitan standards.
PS: Someone complained here about having to pay for the restroom. It's clearly written on the door. Just have a drink, and no one will ask you to pay for it. Maintenance, paper, water, cleaning, and heating all cost money, so the request for a small contribution is justified in my opinion.
A reasonable roti for a very reasonable price! More like a Surinamese inspired Chinese dish with lots of sweet chili sauce, but personally Loved the Tahu/Tempeh combination. Polite staff. Will come back to try the sandwiches 😀
Kazik in Amsterdam is like stepping straight into Poland, everything from the vibe to the flavors is spot on. The zapiekanka is exactly how it should be: crispy, cheesy, packed with flavor, and totally nostalgic if you know the real deal.
It’s comfort food done right, and honestly, probably the best zapiekanka you’ll find outside of Poland. Whether you’re Polish or just a fan of great street food, Kazik is a must-visit. Authentic, satisfying, and full of heart.
