I've been coming here for a few years now, and Wouter is the best restaurant owner EVER! I've celebrated my birthday here three times now, and it's always been incredibly sweet. Plus, the couscous is just so delicious :-)
What an exceptionally rude woman was behind the bar. There were two ladies working: a lady of Asian descent and a Dutch lady. The latter, in particular, came across as very unfriendly and disrespectful.
When I asked if I could get extra milk with my cappuccino, she looked at me strangely and answered curtly: “That’s how it’s supposed to be.” I indicated that I understood, but that I would like some extra milk. She then turned around visibly irritated, grabbed the milk, and poured it into the coffee without any friendliness, after which she immediately turned back around.
The customer after me also had a question and did not seem satisfied with the response he received. Again, I noticed the same attitude: little customer friendliness and the impression that she thought she was always right.
It is a real shame, because otherwise it is a nice place. It is a pity that the atmosphere and experience for customers are ruined by such employees.
An incredible restaurant, awarded numerous times by Gault & Millau, and you'll immediately understand why after tasting the food and cocktails.
The concept is truly delightful and authentically Mexican. They offer different types of tacos and tostadas. I recommend the tacos de lengua (a type of Mexican taco), which were excellent, but everything was truly delicious. It's a refreshing change from your usual fare. Use the two sauces and the fleur de sel they provide to accompany your tacos and tostadas. You can also ask for refills if needed.
It's highly recommended to make a reservation before coming, as the restaurant is so popular that it fills up quickly. Take your time and savor your tacos. You can order small portions to enjoy them with your drinks.
The desserts were also excellent; the special Jalisco crème brûlée was truly surprising. The combination of chili, sugar, and kumquat is perfectly executed and will transport you to another world, ending your meal on a high note!
If you're ever in Amsterdam, this is definitely a place to visit. It's well worth the detour, and be sure to book well in advance!
They are fraud.
We had ordered dinner from Himalayan Curry House via Uber Eats. The delivery never came. We tried to contact the restaurant but the number listed was incorrect. The address noted on Uber eats app turned out to be this restaurant. When we called here, they accepted taking the order and that the food will be getting delivered in another 20minutes after already having been delayed by an hour. We waited for another 40minutes, then tried calling them again. Noone picked up this time. After having waited for 2hours, we cancelled the order and delivery never came.
It has been highly disappointing and suspicious behaviour. Cannot understand why this is still listed on Uber eats under wrong name and contact number.
The food was really good. Only problem we have is the hygiene. So many people without washing hands putting lettuce etc on there falaffel. Let people first wash their hands, or let the staff do that. And the amount off falaffel was also no too much, small sizes.
Some of the best sushi we've ever eaten! A definite recommendation! We had many different types of sushi, and every single one was incredibly delicious. We also had the noodles. They're simply incomparable to the noodles you usually get on the street. We've never had such delicious noodles.
We would visit the restaurant again just for the noodles.
Of course, you have to keep in mind that this comes at a price. You should expect to pay at least €40 per person.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is very dimly lit, which is why we and many other guests had to use our flashlights to read the menus.
All in all, truly excellent and well worth a visit. Making a reservation is recommended.
