De beste restaurants in Amsterdam

Just like a top restaurant, Mater has a small selection, but everything on it is of exceptional culinary quality. Artisanally made, with love and ingredients chosen with such care that, after years of buying bread here, I can hardly appreciate any other bread anymore. It feels like coming home. You no longer find products like those at Mater in the market dominated by mass production and food manipulation. In addition, a great team of young people works there. And not only that. A few weeks ago, I was standing in line (yes, one of the few places where you enjoy standing in line). Then a man cut in line. People spoke to him about it, but he reacted verbally aggressively. I tried to de-escalate the situation with humor, but that had the exact opposite effect. He became extremely intimidating and verbally violent. Among other things, he said: "If there hadn't been a child, you would have gotten such a slap in the mouth from me that all your little white teeth would be lying here on the floor." All the customers fell silent and looked the other way. Including the woman who had originally spoken to him. I stood alone against this aggression. I was genuinely scared. Then a young man came out of the kitchen. He spoke to the man calmly, and together with another employee, he protectively escorted me to the kitchen. It felt like they had saved me. I rarely experience this in Amsterdam, a city that is unfortunately increasingly being tainted by individualism and indifference to others. That is why I offer my deepest thanks and great appreciation to Philip, the owner, and all the employees who stood up for me. To me, that was an act of courage and humanity that I will not soon forget. Mater is not only a place where exceptional bread is made, but also a place where people still look out for one another. Best bread ever! I will never go to other shops again. You get addicted to quality!

Cappuccino, very good almost the best I ever and I drink a lot of this beverage.

It's very nice and very peaceful, a perfect escape from Amsterdam's super noisy bars. The menu is very extensive. Prices are in line with Amsterdam standards.

It might not always be busy, but Eddy’s bar in Albufeira is truly amazing. The McJet is highly recommended; a delicious burger at a reasonable price. It has everything you could want, it is simply fantastic. If you are in Albufeira, you absolutely must eat here for a day (or all of them). Eddy himself is a great guy too, and Eddy’s Special cocktail is delicious as well. In short, go eat here!!!!!

Excellent coffee and delicious pastries. The price is very reasonable and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Lovely place with delicious food and bubble tea

No idea about the food and service. It says it's open online, but I arrive and it's closed.

Very limited selection for lunch. Quiche with salad was the only option, but it was fine, not terrible. Not vegetarian. Good coffee. Service was mediocre. However, it's a nice place with a pleasant interior.

Please update your opening hours normally, you've already been to a closed door 3 times, amateurs

Good food, but a long wait. (almost 2 hours, maybe because we were a bigger group). There is a indoor swimming pool next to the restaurant so you can kinda smell the chloride👌

My wife and I always love going there; top-notch products, and especially the currant bun or the ginger bun are delicious. I have to say, the best buns I have ever eaten. Top notch!

Good food always neat, respectful and kind

This place has one of the best chicken in Amsterdam, definitely recommend this place!

The food is delicious and fresh, but as others have mentioned, it's not worth €21 if you buy it through TGTG. One container, one meal—I wouldn't even buy it for €7, but I did pay for it through TGTG. I was there for 12 hours, but they made me wait half an hour because it wasn't ready yet. The people were very nice, though, and my son got to play racing games for free, which was a fun pastime for him. But never again, because I expect more food from TGTG, and that's not worth the detour and the wait.

Yesterday, I ate here with a colleague. I ordered the mixed grill for €29.50. To my surprise, I received only half an Adana, a few small pieces of meat, and a few pieces of chicken. At first, I thought a mistake had been made because the portion was very small and meager. For this price, I had expected much more. Unfortunately, the taste was also very disappointing. The food was not tasty and absolutely not what I am used to from a mixed grill. To be honest, I felt ripped off. For me, this was the first and the last time I will eat here.
