This is truly the best bakery on Oranjeboomstraat. I've been coming here for years! Fresh, warm bread every day, a wide selection of food and household items. It's also great that you can pick up your parcels here! Top-notch service, always customer-friendly, and neat and clean! In short, it's more than just a bakery! 👌🏻
I'm truly disappointed with the poor service. Communication with the customer is completely lacking. If you're a company that provides catering for events, parties, and celebrations, I assume that proper communication is part of that?
Pressing people to transfer money "on time" can happen at any time of the day, but on the day itself, when the food is supposed to be delivered, there's no answer.
Showing up five hours late, resulting in many guests going home with empty stomachs.
We ended up taking the food we could still give to our guests and asking for compensation for the rest. It wasn't easy either... but thankfully, we did get it in the end. Once this mistake is made repeatedly, it seems like a choice to treat people this way. (Let's not forget the wedding incident.) And then having to pay your employees, or making them wait months for their salary... aibooooooiii. Anyway, there are a lot of stories and, in my opinion, excuses during the conversation, and they constantly play the victim, pointing fingers at everyone but yourself. I'm not buying it. Honestly admitting your mistakes will get you far in life.
If you want to PICK UP a meal, do it! But order catering and delivery; save yourself the time and money!
Anyway,
Thanks anyway for the compensation, that was the only positive part of this whole situation.
This year, I ordered oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts) from the gym. I picked them up the day before New Year's Eve, and they were dry and tasteless. On New Year's Eve, they looked like bouncy balls... in other words, inedible. I also made some at home, and at least those were eaten; the others were just decorations on the table.
We just picked up oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts) and ananasbollen (pineapple balls). They're both delicious! Not too greasy, but not too dry either. Delicious.
Absolutely no respect for customers. You stand there at the counter, and the woman in the kitchen acts like you don't exist, while the other worker is just eating in the kitchen where my food is being made. That's unacceptable, especially not in front of customers. She also throws a lot of pepper in your arepa even though you didn't ask for it, so the arepa went straight in the trash. 😒 You pay €22 for two half-cooked, poorly made arepas and two small quesillos. First time there, never again. A real waste of money, man.
The food is just like their service....
TOTALLY BAD!
We were here for lunch. This was served quickly. Maybe that's why my Caprese panini was rather lukewarm. There was no Mozzarella on it either, but regular young melted cheese. Anyway, that was all okay, because I was hungry. What I didn't like, however, was that the waitress didn't speak any Dutch, only English. And this in Leeuwarden, not the Leidsestraat in Amsterdam. Very strange.
This place is one big scam!! WOW!!! I NEVER GOT SO BAD FOOD!!! Waited 2 hours for our food! You order chicken but you get burnt beef!!! (4 mini pieces of burnt beef) DO NOT ORDER HERE!!! Most likely the positive reviewers will get money because this is completely wrong!! The number on home delivery is from a pizzeria that will then call the wok!! What a RUBBLE!
Ordered at 7:30 PM on Sunday (perhaps after the Sunday evening peak). It was delivered at 8:40 PM. The pizza was almost completely cold, and the portion of fries was so well-wrapped that the fries were wet and soggy. The delivery driver was friendly. Unfortunately, after waiting over an hour, the pizza, etc., were of good quality, and the pizza tasted like a piece of tough cardboard because it was cold... a shame.
I've read a lot of negative reviews, but we (2) thought it was very good. We had roti and rice rames (mixed meat).
The place looks very neat. Service and preparation are hygienic with gloves. The roti tasted delicious; well-cooked chicken that wasn't dry, good long beans, the gravy a bit thin but very tasty and not overly seasoned. The rames: excellent rice, a wonderful variety of meats, nicely sour, and crunchy beans. Everything super fresh and very flavorful. The satay was also good. Large portion, no overpowering aftertaste. In short, we thought it was fantastic.
Tip: fill the refrigerated display case; it looks a bit strange when it's empty.
We will definitely go again.
I asked the boss if they had veal doner. "Yes, sir." I ordered a veal kapsalon. I took it home, and when I went to eat it, I found lamb shawarma. I went back and asked why they were giving me lamb shawarma when I clearly asked for veal doner. The boss said that lamb shawarma was better and tastier than veal doner. He then tried to say it was a mix between doner and shawarma, but his own employee standing next to him contradicted him. So, he was just lying for the second time.
When I ask if they have veal doner, you can't just say yes and give me lamb shawarma. And when I come back, you're supposed to apologize and give me a refund. I'm guessing they did this because they wanted to get rid of their food at the end of the day, but I had to throw away €22 worth of food.
A reminder to this “entrepreneur” that the money he earns this way is HARAM money and that it has taken the barakah out of his halal money.
A very poor branch of this chain. They can't even change 10 euros. And then they just round it up to their advantage.
Will you let me know when they get the cash register back in order? Maybe I'll get a sandwich here again then.
