Absolutely a beautiful, atmospheric place, but in terms of waitstaff and service, it falls short. The cappuccino was served cold. I had to ask for the drinks myself. The staff walked past the empty cups and glasses several times but didn't ask anything. Additionally, staff walking around acting so unappetizingly that I thought, "I'm never going to eat here." Coughing heavily while going around with food is a no-go. Or someone else covering the fries on the tray with their hands while you can also see someone sitting with their hands in their pants—another no-go! And coming past with the trash cans in front of you while you're sitting there drinking—all things that aren't necessary and simply stem from the behavior of poorly instructed staff. It's a shame, because it is a beautiful place.

Inefficient and expensive. Many drinks aren't included in the children's menu, so you have to pay extra. This isn't indicated when ordering. Unfortunately, reviews from previous years are still accurate.

Walked the Mheer-Noorbeek route. The junction points listed in the route were completely incorrect. Either compiled by an agency or hadn't been checked in a very long time. It was also strange that lunch was scheduled only at the end of the walk (in our case at 4:00 PM).

Ga je straks avonds door de mac drive moet je 10minuten tot 15 minuten wachten op je ijsje. Terwijl je met 3 auto s in de drive staat. Super slecht!

Through the McDrive. The pole we were at wasn't working or wasn't noticed, so we reversed to the other one. The McFlurry was okay, but the empanadas are inedible: dry and tasteless. Don't think they're going to improve the recipe, so best to skip this one.

In this dark hole that hasn't been cleaned in years, walks a grumpy Polish owner who'd rather you be gone than on the patio. Cash only! The toilet is filthier than your average dump, but that suits the interior, which was installed at the beginning of the last century and hasn't been maintained since. The carpet stinks like a million bucks, but that keeps the rats and flies at bay. Ambience? None, because nobody comes. There was one gambler inside and a beggar on the patio. Food? I wouldn't dare order it there because you'd be afraid of catching something just by stepping inside. Service? You'd have a better time getting beat up by a team of 20 hooligans than in this filthy den. Don't go there!

A sandwich was delivered well after its sell-by date. I mentioned this at checkout, and the response I got was "that's OK." Couldn't you just say thank you, say you'll look into it, or briefly explain if the expiration date isn't important? On the platform, I noticed a second sticker had been placed on my sandwich to hide the old expiration date... which I don't appreciate. Besides, many sandwiches were sold out, and the employee wasn't busy and was wandering around to kill time. The visit was on November 17, 2025, around 2:50 PM.

The portions of fries are sufficient. Poffertjes are dry and seem to have come straight out of a microwave. Pancakes are okay. Furthermore, it is dirty everywhere outside with bird droppings. Also, the staff (old generation) is terrible. Not friendly, not helpful, and very cheeky.

Wat een ongelooflijk respectloos personeel staat daar bah. Er valt niet met de mensen te praten en ze gaan gelijk over tot bedreigingen zo dra je woorden hun niet aanstaan. Vooral yvonne falize vindt het nodig om zelfs familie en vrienden te gaan bedreigen. Staat je netjes als zeekoe eigenaar. Nooit meer daar gaan eten en boycotten dit stelletje ongeregeld.

Nestled within the University Library at Drift, this café is nothing short of a haven in the heart of Utrecht, owing much to its outstanding team. Every single team member has always given me very good service and they’re always open for a chat. In view of another review I just read, special mention must be made of the two more experienced ladies on staff: their presence is a cornerstone of the café’s inviting atmosphere and they’re friendly and provide impeccable service. As for certain scathing reviews, such as the regrettable one by ‘Mel Bonnet’, they are entirely unfounded and grossly misrepresent the unparalleled experience offered at Café Lodewijk. One really cannot help but pity such negativity, for it speaks more of the reviewer than of the café itself, which remains a paragon of excellence. I recommend it unreservedly!

We were driving from Belgium to Rotterdam for a nice night out. We thought we would have a nice stop at the bitterballenbar, at 7pm (bar should have been opened till 8pm), but it was already closed. A very BITTER (well, unfortunately not) disappointing moment. Update your website or close the doors, it's very unprofessional.

The only drawback was that the oil in the deep fryer did not seem fresh, which resulted in a slightly tinged, buttery aftertaste. Nevertheless, the calamari was fresh, as were the small bait fish and oysters. Overall, the seafood quality was great.
