Snack bar Jopie was quickly found while standing at a campsite in Vorstenbosch. Ordered online, time agreed and ready upon arrival. Delicious snacks and fries, the various dishes were also easy to keep down, in Brabant style. Great solution if you don't feel like cooking.
Everything tasted great, even the vegetarian dishes were excellent. We only had to pay €15 for two bottles of water, even though we'd barely drunk any. A bit odd.
We dined at Salty Seafood on a Sunday evening and it was truly a fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality, and the service remained consistently high throughout the evening. It was clear that the team truly enjoys what they do—that makes a huge difference.
The restaurant itself is atmospheric and thoughtfully decorated, but what truly stood out was the food. We opted for the 6-course menu, and each dish was perfectly balanced in terms of flavor. There was a lovely variety of flavors and techniques, with surprising fish varieties you don't find everywhere.
We especially appreciated their conscious approach to ingredients: almost every part of the fish is used, which feels sustainable and respectful. A huge plus!
Another lovely detail: during one of the courses, a matching non-alcoholic drink was even served—carefully prepared and perfectly paired. Extra credit for that.
In short: an evening full of flavor, experience, and hospitality. Definitely recommended to experience for yourself.
There's nothing quite like good old-fashioned South African customer service. We walked into the store and immediately felt like we were exactly where we belonged. The store may be small, but as the saying goes, dynamite comes in small packages. Their food, both cooked and uncooked, is a straight 10. The baked goods are incredible—moist and spot on. I might just have to make the 3 hours drive from Germany at least once a month to enjoy it all over again!
Very delicious! We had two Mokum Gyros and a Mokum Falafel. All the ingredients were freshly prepared and deliciously seasoned. It was pouring with rain, but we enjoyed it at our table outside under the vaulted roof.
