Do you eat ice cream 🍨 in winter ☃️?
You know I do. 😋 But, for some reason, there are so many people who don't 🤷. In fact, most 🇮🇹 Italian gelato parlors close during the coldest months (which can last as long as 8 months, apparently 😅).
In Amsterdam 🇳🇱, one of our friends took us to a parlor he used to go to when he was a child. On our way there, he told us he didn't know if the place was open because the owners tend to close in winter... or when they feel like doing it! 🤣
The place is called Venetië Ijs and... it was open! 🥳
Apparently the place is quite famous cause we had to queue. It looks almost vintage. And the ice cream itself is vintage... I can understand why somebody who ate there as a child likes it. But I've tried so much better ice cream in Amsterdam... sorry, I've liked better other ice creams: in the end, it's all a matter of taste. 😇
I had hazelnut, which was pretty good, and pistachio, which I didn't like much cause it tasted a lot like cream and not so much like pistachio. 😔
And the pistachio cream melted quite fast. 👎 The cone was good though.
The service was ok and the prices were reasonable for today's standards and the quantities (which were ok, sufficient): €3.25 for 2 scoops, €4.9 for 3 (and they offer a 1-scoop kid format 👏). Another good thing is that you can sit inside and outside: I always find it better when I can relax and enjoy my cream instead of just standing outside or walking. 👍
I wouldn't mind having ice cream there again, but I wouldn't go there on purpose. 🤷

Restaurant that looked promising but underperformed in taste by a large margin, worst ramen and gyoza i’ve ever had, and for a very high price. Terrible.
Inedible, I'm already feeling nauseous. It takes ages to get your food. Spareribs are hard to separate. Want a refund? You can't even take a bite. Aggressive staff.
If you want to throw your money away, order here.
Way too expensive for 2 chicken noodle soups at 50 euros.
The food took 2 minutes to arrive, and the noodles were cooked too long.
They were already prepared in advance.

Food was extremely cold when it arrived, and I haven't even mentioned how disgusting it was. They gave me the wrong thing, which is why I called the company. I got a response saying "sort it out at thuisbezorgd" Antisocial, bad, cold, in short I'd rather get ebola than order from here again.
Confidently ordered a large box of sushi and side dishes. We're new to the neighborhood, so support your locals.
We ordered online around 7 p.m. and, yes, waited almost two hours, so we called twice in between. The phone was answered with "Hello" and a slight nudge.
What arrived was a completely wet, leaky, soggy bag/box. (Where all that moisture came from is still a mystery.)
But the tuna was vomit-inducing. It was a brown/beige, soaked-in bit. And the large box of edamame contained mostly shells without beans.
So this was a complete disappointment. Our last call to report this, to spare them further suffering given the spoiled fish, was ignored.
The large amount of sushi was okay, but there wasn't much variety, only two kinds of the same. It wasn't cheap either. The trash bin was especially full.
The only drawback was that the oil in the deep fryer did not seem fresh, which resulted in a slightly tinged, buttery aftertaste. Nevertheless, the calamari was fresh, as were the small bait fish and oysters. Overall, the seafood quality was great.
