So happy to have discovered this bakery, this is the kind of sourdough bread we were looking for and is difficult to find in the Netherlands! Will come back regularly! :)
And on top of that they have a variety of other nice products such as Alon's pickles, kimchi, coffee beans etc.!
Had a delicious breakfast at De Lekkernij bakery. Cozy atmosphere and a friendly owner. Definitely recommended, and I'll keep it in mind for next time.
A friend recommended this restaurant for omakase. Enthusiastically, a few friends and I ordered the most expensive chef's omakase, hoping to experience the culinary skills of the Japanese chef known for his omakase dishes. My friends enjoyed it, but if you're familiar with Japanese cuisine, it's a complete disappointment. The sushi wasn't outstanding; it was standard sushi found everywhere in all-you-can-eat restaurants. There are a few things the chef should pay attention to. For example, the hamachi sashimi (ハマチ) in the photo has an uneven bottom edge, which looks unattractive and unprofessional. There was also a piece of tuna sushi, which we were told was O-toro (大トロ). O-toro has a soft, well-cooked texture and a rich flavor, and the color is pink with a hint of white. The chef could also call it a Chu-toro, though, because you can clearly see it's half pink and half red. One of the sushi pieces was made with herring, a type of Dutch salted fish. Herring is one of the cheapest fish in the Netherlands and is often eaten with onions on the street by the Dutch. Because the fish has been brined for so long, it's no longer fresh at all, so putting it on sushi is an insult. The Japanese eat sushi precisely to savor the freshness of the fish, and traditionally, there's a specific order to eating sushi, starting with the milder flavors and moving up to the stronger ones. But if you place herring, which is both salty and strong, in the center, your entire mouth will be filled with the flavor of herring afterward, and after a few pieces, you won't be able to taste any other sushi.
Overall, I was very disappointed. I hope the chef can improve his cutting techniques and delve deeper into authentic Japanese cuisine!
A fantastic artisanal bakery where you're not just a number. Johnny and Marica know every customer by name and what they like to buy. I've been coming here for years; you can also contact them for celebratory cakes or delicious lunches! A top-notch bakery 🙏💋
Truly amazing Thai food. I'm so glad they deliver, and that it's so good and always arrives perfectly. I order from them regularly and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, today the dish didn't include the promised Thai eggplant (which I love so much), but zucchini. The eggplant must have been unavailable. I immediately forgive them, because they're fantastic. They were also helpful over the phone when I once inquired about nuts due to my son's allergy. I hope you keep making and delivering delicious food for a long time to come! 🤗
Absolutely Loved the place and the vibes and the very friendly barista who had such a good aura, In the very chill music and I was able to work there for three hours on my laptop! Less crowd than most cafés, perfect for people who are looking for a cozy café to work where there’s not much crowd! And definitely a good place to just chill!!!
Can’t believe I haven’t been to this café until now. The decor is very creative and artsy. Touches of retro vibes and so cool!
Would be coming here almost every day if I lived nearby :D. But will definitely be coming back here more often from now on!
We first discovered Solinger Bakery through The Fermentary, where we used to order their olive lemon bread — only later did we realise it came from Solinger themselves. It’s truly the best bread we’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with a wonderfully unique flavour palette that stays fresh for days.
We recently visited the bakery in person and tried their babka and French bread with cheese, along with a filter coffee. Everything was simply outstanding. The quality, balance of flavours, and freshness truly reflect the craftsmanship behind their baking.
The moment you walk into the NDSM area, the smell alone draws you in — warm, comforting, and irresistible. Solinger perfectly combines traditional techniques with creativity, resulting in products that feel both rustic and refined.
Next time, I’d love to try their krentenbollen, as I absolutely love those. We’ve become so spoiled that we never want anything other than homemade sourdough now. I’ve started baking myself, and after eight loaves I’m only beginning to appreciate how complex it is. My deepest respect for the bakers — managing temperature, proofing, over-proofing, coil folds, and stretch folds — it’s truly an art form.
At €7, their bread is not only exceptional but also remarkably affordable considering the craft, time, and skill involved.
Highly recommended to anyone who loves honest, beautifully made bread.
Friendly, respectful, and helpful staff!
It's wonderful to see a small business that still connects with customers! And where you don't have to wait in line for expensive bread, etc., etc., without having to wait in contactless lines.
