Most inadequate service I’ve ever experienced! We had a reservation for three people and initially only 2 chairs were available. Not only that but we had to wait for 15min for the second chair to be given to us. The waiter couldn’t get our order correct not even once - first I received the wrong wine, then my friend never received hers. We kept reminding him and asking for service, and eventually gave up and went to the bar ourselves. Next round, same story. When we tried to get the bill, we asked more than three times and waited for over half an hour, until eventually, again, we went to pay at the bar.
Kenkey is not a meal you can up and prep at the comfort of your home especially in the diaspora, at least not for me, so I look forward to enjoying some when I get the opportunity so all I will say is, I had a great experience enjoying my kenkey and pepper with some fish. My only reservation is if I’m eating kenkey with some shito, the shito ‘must shito okay’ and it should start with the aroma even before it hits your tongue but hey, I guess I will normalize going to kenkey places with my own shito😭🤣 A girl just wants some taste okay…Anyways, that being said, my experience was great overall. Oh and very affordable too, everything on the picture in this review costs less than £10 (this included one meat pie too).
I have never received worse service in an establishment.
Three shop assistants and me alone in the queue and they haven't even paid any attention to me.
I have asked them about the sauces and, as if I were invisible, I have not received an answer, I have left without buying
Good food but ordered dessert at about 10pm and they came back and told us they couldn’t do it as the chef had gone home and we had to leave as they were shutting up. All a bit weird on a Friday night in a capital city.
Ordered €50 worth of sushi, then the place was closed. Calling didn't help either because the phone wasn't answered; very bad, never experienced anything like this before.
The döner isn't döner at all, but cubes of meat. The durum doesn't taste good and is incredibly expensive. You can't pay by card, so you have to transfer the money using his debit card. The next day, I ended up with food poisoning.
Avoid this place if you can.
Excellent espresso despite not being in Italy. Excellent beer, and a friendly and helpful owner. Recommended, in the beautiful setting of the Albert Cuyp Markt.
The atmosphere might be nice, but we came as a group of four. Two of us paid €21 for two beers and were pressured to buy a drink for the other two to stay on the terrace (€10.50 for two Cokes). I don't recommend it.
