I've rarely seen a pizzeria with so many incompetent people. There were nine of these people in the shop: two of them were working in slow motion, two were on their phones/opening their Snapchats, and the other five were entertaining each other. And this was during a quiet night. I have no idea what disastrous consequences this would have if it were ever busy. I waited an excruciatingly long time for my pizza, which, by New York pizza standards, was actually quite good. But yeah, how do you mess that up?
I would strongly advise against getting food here, especially if you have to catch a bus in 30 minutes. There is an upside: while you have to wait for your next bus, you have a warm spot in the shop, because you get to wait another 20 minutes. Not the best move if you want to get home that same day.
Give these people a kick in the ass and clean that place up, because it looks awful.
Once again, the pizza itself was delicious, I picked it up.
Best regards
As a family of four visiting Amsterdam, we stopped at this place after leaving the busy arena area due tro Ajax fans exiting the arena, hoping for a quick meal. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst food experiences we’ve had.
We ordered 4 pieces of fried chicken and 2 large portions of chips (€25). The chicken was incredibly dry, and the chips, though hot, were also dry and completely tasteless. For the price, this was very poor value.
I genuinely regretted not waiting in the queues at KFC or McDonald’s, which would have been a much better option. Now I understand why this place was almost empty while others nearby were packed.
Sharing this so future travelers think twice before eating here, you’ll likely save your money and your appetite by choosing somewhere else.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent, high-quality food. Kudos to the chefs. All the ingredients are genuine. I saw the kitchen with my own eyes, and it was clean. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The view of the lake is stunning, and you can eat inside or outside. The place is very spacious, even for large parties. I recommend everyone come here at least once!
Vapiano Amsterdam: A definite no-go and a disgusting experience
My recent visit to Vapiano in Amsterdam was an absolute nightmare, and I feel compelled to issue a warning. What started as a pleasant evening ended in deep disappointment and a very unpleasant aftermath.
The wait for our order was incredibly long, which was frustrating enough, but the biggest shock came with the food itself. My pasta didn't seem fresh at all and had a strange smell. The sauce was watery, and the ingredients felt limp. It simply didn't taste good, but we were hungry and thought it might be our fault.
Unfortunately, the opposite was true. Within hours of eating, we both became violently ill with clear symptoms of food poisoning. It's outrageous that a restaurant like Vapiano, an international chain to boot, serves food of such low quality that it endangers the health of its customers.
This experience was unacceptable and unforgivable. I will never eat here again and strongly advise everyone to stay far away from this establishment.
