Atmosphere and service decent.
The food though. Amsterdam is expensive and that’s fine. But this place is like getting robbed on the sidewalk.
If you come for the nice looking pancakes, knock yourself out. I wanted a sandwich.
“Chicken, onion compote, french cheese”
I got cubes of dry chicken. Barely spiced, just orange looking. DRY. Served on a Lidl Kaiserbread. With Lidl honey mustard sauce and cheap lettuce. Parmesan cheese.
SEVENTEEN (€17) EURO.
Absolutely unacceptable. I feel completely insulted. Shocked.
The first night we were in Amsterdam, we stopped in here on a whim because we were looking for something close to our hotel after a long day of traveling. Daphne and Terrance were amazing and the food, drinks and atmosphere were so good we at least stopped in for a drink every night we were in Amsterdam. It seems like a heavily visited local watering hole; it was pretty busy every night, but they make time to get around to all the tables. If you are staying at the InnSide hotel at Zuidplein, or just in the area, you should make a stop over, it will be worth your while. Whenever we return to Amsterdam, I'm sure we will find our way down there again.
We loved everything about our visit at cornerstore. The staff was very nice and helpful, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. 10/10 would recommend!
I ate here for my birthday.
First of all, the staff was friendly and cheerful, the decor was warm and inviting, and the aromas from the kitchen were pleasant and inviting.
Upon receiving the food, we were enthusiastic, and the presentation was beautiful.
Both cuts of meat, combined with the pepper sauce and gravy, plus the winter vegetables and fries, were delicious and very flavorful.
The steak tartare, however, was a huge disappointment: grayish meat, no sauces, very coarsely cut, and a subpar taste experience.
When I reported this problem, no solution was offered. I think the cola that was removed from the bill was a nice gesture, but it's not in line with the price charged for the tartare. This way, you don't get a tip, and you end up shooting yourself in the foot.
The fact that it was my birthday was also ignored.
All in all, there are areas for improvement, and I hope you will handle this better in the future.
Normal place, nothing special... unpleasant smell inside. Terrible staff, rude and without a shred of humanity. Having someone with us who wasn't feeling well, they made us leave!!!! Because it gave a bad image of the place!!! There are no words x xx
bubble tea was really good quality for the price! lots of fruit slices and real pomegranate. owner was sweet and accommodating, and the restaurant was very pretty. hopefully next time I'll get more tapioca! highly recommend :)
A dear friend suggested to try Belcampo for a thanksgiving dinner. The price was friendly and charged in advance. The experience was awful and frankly offensive in its lack of quality and carelessness. Bland food served cafeteria-style (not a problem per se) but in paper plates and with plastic utensils that broke while we ate. Stress over chairs that were barely sufficient for the amount of guests. Bright lights made the loft space look more like a disaster shelter than a restaurant on a festive occasion. To add to the poor experience, staff was walking around with large trash bags, emptying out the table items while we still were there. Never again.
