De beste restaurants in Amsterdam

What a great experience here. The food was really incredibly tasty and exactly what we were looking for for a good lunch. Everything tasted wonderfully fresh. The sandwich with generous portions of meat stood out immediately, in particular. The portions are substantial and the quality is top-notch. We had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back.

Nice coffee, very rude barista. I have contacted the company about the latter when visited the cafe via Instagram, yet there’s still no response from them (it’s been about 3-4 weeks).

By 7 p.m., three of the dishes we wanted were already sold out, so we had to choose something else. There was also a mistake when taking our order; not all the staff were friendly. The food is also rather expensive for relatively small portions. Six euros for a lukewarm, very small beer is also very expensive in my opinion. It's also a shame for a vegan restaurant that the food is served in disposable containers. But all in all, the food was very tasty, presented in a very original way, and served very quickly!

Too greasy. Bland. Nothing like our delicious crêpes in France. The place is original and friendly, and the service is genuinely warm! But the taste just isn't there. Too heavy!

Disgusting, they clean the glasses just dipping it on a sink with water darker than the night,no soap, no dishwasher, I sat in the bar counter watching the barman doing it and my beer started to taste like *** after watching how they wash glasses, what a disgusting show

Review: Tolhuistuin I recently had a delicious meal at the Tolhuistuin. We had just come from the movie at EYE and were a bit early. Because the kitchen doesn't open until 5:30 PM, we had to wait a little while. We ordered a beer in advance and looked at the menu, which was printed on the placemat. To be honest, we didn't find the menu very clear; it took quite a while to find what we wanted. The dishes were arranged from left to right and from cold to hot. That might make sense to regulars, but if you don't come here very often, it is a bit confusing. In the end, we were able to make a choice. I had the pork satay (3 skewers). The satay tasted delicious, but unfortunately, there was very little satay sauce on the skewers. Additionally, I would have really liked a portion of fries on the side with my meal, but unfortunately, they don't sell those here. I really consider that a missed opportunity and a downside; I prefer just plain fries without sauces with my meal, rather than poached potatoes or another potato dish. We did find the prices to be on the high side: €14 for 3 satay skewers €6 for an alcohol-free beer Well, in Amsterdam these days you pay top dollar for the hospitality industry! The service was generally friendly and good, but even there a minor issue went wrong. When we ordered another beer during our meal, the employee said he would pass it on to a colleague. Ultimately, this didn't happen, meaning my boyfriend didn't get a second beer. Of course, he could have just walked to the bar himself to order it, but it could have been handled just a little better. Conclusion All in all, the location on the IJ is beautiful; it is a truly fantastic setting! As a tourist and as an Amsterdammer, you naturally pay a premium for that. The food was tasty, but due to the somewhat smaller portions and the high prices, the price-quality ratio was a bit disappointing. Additionally, it would be a real plus if they simply put fries on the menu. Despite these points for improvement, I had a nice evening and really enjoyed the atmosphere!

This was our best meal in Amsterdam by far. Lovely service, excellent food - every dish was just great. The space is well designed with tables not too close. Cocktails were also very well made. Will return when we come back to Amsterdam.
