A little disappointing. Everything was tasty, and there was a lot of everything, but nothing wowed us. For that amount of money, I'd expect to be at least a little impressed. It was a fun experience and I'm glad we did it, but I wouldn't go here again. The service was fairly mediocre too.
I had a very good experience, the staff was very attentive and the manager was always attentive to our table. The explanations about the dishes made the experience even better.
I will return to try other dishes.
The blue cheese ice cream is amazing.
They don’t follow order instructions . I asked to include an extra ingredient which I paid for, and the request was ignored. This happend via delivery so I could not complain in the restaurant. I am disappointed and will not use this restaurant again.
We tried the chefs rice table. It was really good and well tasty. My only problem was, that the portion sizes were slightly too small. We would have loved another spoon or two of everything.
Had a fantastic meal here in this somewhat hidden gem during a couple day stay in Amsterdam. My friend and I had the 5 course chef's menu with the wine pairings and every dish was delicious and left us scraping up each plate. All of the wait staff were friendly and created a great atmosphere. Our lead server, Kai, was great. I highly recommend this restaurant as a place to seek out during your time in Amsterdam or as a local.
Nice place away from the city center. Just 5 minutes from there. Prices are high (regular for Amsterdam) and dishes are small. Food is very good. Steak was interesting.
Not sure why this restaurant has such a good rating, so I’m sharing our experience dining there:
- the food is decent, the only dish we really disliked was the black-legged chicken (zwartpootkip). I wish the waiter would have told us it is a sous-vide chicken breast, otherwise we would have never gotten it. It gives the chicken a spongy texture which we found not appealing. The menu doesn’t include any info about which part of the chicken is served and how it is prepared.
- when we expressed our dislike of this dish, our waiter then proceeded to ignore us for the rest of the evening. His overall attitude was “I’m a hot-shot working at a hot-shot place” which was slightly off putting to us.
- we ordered one bottle of sparkling water, and as we were about to finish it, the staff grabbed it away and immediately gave us a new one without asking if we wanted a second bottle. And of course both bottles were on the bill! A simple “Would you like another bottle of water?” would have been enough but the wait stuff never asked.
Overall it wasn’t a bad dinner, but we’ve had much better French food elsewhere.
Its not an easy place to order from, but the waffles were great. My kids and I enjoyed them which is why i cant say it was the worst experience. They dont seem to speak dutch or english, only turkish which is fine but not easy to navigate. You also do not pay at the table and there seem to be multiple shops to pay at depending on what you order which is neither explained nor told to you. Would be better if they had a QR code on the table to order and pay at. I was also a bit annoyed because they brought a drink to the table whilst i was away from the table. My kids drank a few sips of the drink not knowing any better. I feel this wasnt great to be honest because i didnt order this drink and it felt a little bit like a scam. I paid for it but i do think others should be careful eating here.
