Unfortunately for us: once and never again. A huge disappointment.
It actually started right upon arrival. The entrance is incredibly poorly signposted. We walked around the entire building before finally finding a welcome sign and realizing where we needed to go inside.
We had reserved a table for two for 6:30 PM and were assigned a very dark corner. Moreover, the chairs were completely uncomfortable, which is naturally not exactly pleasant during an evening of long dining.
The evening then began with an alcohol-free mojito that had such a strange, sharp taste that it burned my throat and stomach. At first, I thought it was just me, but my boyfriend had exactly the same experience. We sent the drink back, and fortunately, it was properly removed from the bill.
After that, the waiting began. We were told we would receive a bread roll on the house, but after about 45 minutes, we still hadn't received anything. Eventually, we had to approach someone ourselves to ask where it was.
We also found the system with the paper order slips very cumbersome. You fill out a slip and place it in a holder, after which the staff is supposed to collect it. However, our slips were simply left behind several times, and we had to ask ourselves if someone would take our order. We sometimes waited close to forty-five minutes between courses.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food absolutely did not make up for the wait. The prawns were pale, tough, and barely cooked. The fried shrimp sticks were stuck together and incredibly greasy. We also found the quality of the other dishes to be very disappointing.
In the end, we only had three rounds and a dessert. We were there from 6:30 PM until about 9:30 PM and had simply had enough by then. We actually wanted to order another round, but after hours of waiting and disappointing food, we were done.
What we also found very unfortunate was that there was hardly any attention paid to the long waiting times. It was not indicated that it might take longer, there was no apology, and we were not asked in between if we wanted anything to drink. Meanwhile, we regularly saw the hostess talking to colleagues at the bar.
We have dined at a similar concept before and know that it can really be done differently: better quality, faster service, and a much more pleasant evening.
From the unclear entrance and uncomfortable seating to the enormous waiting times and the disappointing quality of the food: all in all, a major disappointment, and that for over €100. For us, ’t Zusje Deventer is unfortunately incredibly overhyped, and this will be our last visit.
I used to love coming here. But now...? Dirty windows, sticky tables and chairs, a dried-up flower on the table, empty scented sticks in the toilet, and just about everything is broken or falling apart in the washroom. The staff looks burnt out. What a shadow of its former glory.

The food is good but on the pricey side, especially considering the quantity; the fries are messy.
Super friendly hostess!! A real winner!!
Just picked up a lot of nice food (chicken/fish/cheese burgers, nuggets, Big Mac, cheese snacks, fries) and everything was fresh and hot. Ready quickly! With the app discount, you get the food for a reasonable price. The staff at the counter were efficient and friendly.
