Really bad service. After paying they told us they were sold out of the sauce we paid for and just handled us dry chicken with no sauce at all. Also waited over half an hour for a pre-made slice. Chicken was dry and pizza was greasy. Expensive as well
I rarely review anything, but Strandtien deserves one. I've had several delicious meals in a lovely, beautiful location, and the price is excellent for the quality you get. Fantastic!
We hebben heerlijk gegeten. Leuke en erg lekkere gerechtjes. Goed bereid en erg smaakvol. De bediening is erg vriendelijk. Nette prijzen. Kortom: een aanrader.
Tipje: in de avond zit je op het dakterras best wel in de wind. Ik zou alleen boven reserveren als het erg warm is. Gelukkig mochten we naar het restaurant verplaatsen omdat het niet zo druk was.
Disappointing. The food was decent, though not as good as comparable sushi restaurants. The sushi was also cut very thickly, making it difficult to eat. Furthermore, many items were "out of stock." There were many delicious items on the menu, but they couldn't be ordered through the app. We still had to pay the full price, which was truly unusual.
I had to scan a QR code with my own phone, which was very confusing. It's a real shame that you can't order from a menu or a tablet with pictures. Eating out is a time without a phone; it makes it so unsociable. Why not just order from the staff, or provide tablets? How can someone order with a dead phone or someone who doesn't have one?
During the last few rounds, we wanted to order ice cream, but even there, many items were "out of stock." She mentioned at the table what was in stock, and we ordered verbally from her. Then, when we paid, there was an extra €10 on the receipt because the ice cream we'd ordered from her was apparently only part of the "deluxe" menu. I'm talking about four scoops of mango ice cream for which they dared to charge €10. This despite the fact that almost all the ice creams on the standard menu were gone, and she offered them to us herself. She insisted that they cost extra and that they were listed on the menu. I got angry and said that they hardly have anything in stock, yet they empty your wallet. I demanded that she remove the ice cream or I wouldn't pay. After much grumbling, they removed it. After I paid, she walked away without saying a word. It's a shame, because she was the only staff member who could speak Dutch and was even remotely polite.
Don't go there. It's a real waste of your experience. There are so many better restaurants.
La Place... a real trucker-cafe vibe. It's not cozy, there's no romance, just tables from a trucker's cafe and overpriced food. The food is okay, but paying €20 for a bottle of iced tea, a hamburger, and some fries... that's a bit too expensive for the experience you get. Friendly young staff.
Great atmosphere, delicious food (the menu changes every few weeks), and above all, friendly staff. We've been coming here for many years and will continue to do so for a while.
I had a delicious meal at this location yesterday. I'm shocked when I read the reviews! So I wanted to share my experience.
I found the staff and service to be very friendly and good! The people were friendly, and everything went smoothly. The only disappointment was the cocktails! I had to wait 30 minutes, if not longer. A different recipe, overly sweet, with little mint, and just plain not tasty. The Havana seemed to have been replaced by a cheap German version. I only had one glass; I normally drink them all evening!
The food was delicious and the service was good, so apart from the cocktails, I actually got everything I expected!
We had dinner at this restaurant in Rembrandtplein and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We ordered the barbecue buffalo chicken with roasted sweet potato and the chicken saté. The buffalo chicken was overcooked and partly burnt, while the saté became overly sweet and heavy after a few bites. We were also assured that the saté would be made with chicken breast, but it clearly wasn’t.
On top of that, the fries we ordered never arrived. The place itself isn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t feel particularly clean. Overall, I wouldn’t go back.
