I had wanted to go here for a while. Not only because of the name and the location in the Hilton, but also because I was curious about the man behind the business, Roberto Payer. I have long been a fan of his vision, and it was wonderful to finally experience it for myself.
What stood out most: he is not only friendly, but also knowledgeable. The way he explains things shows that he truly masters his craft. That inspires confidence.
The food is refined and balanced. No excess, but quality that you recognize immediately. The atmosphere is calm and stylish, and the service is professional without creating distance.
We had dinner the other night at Arca, and it was a huge disappointment.
We paid €169 per person (water and drinks excluded of course) for six small dishes, with medium to low quality overall.
The meat arrived cold, which at this price point is simply unacceptable.
The service timing was honestly shocking. We were seated at 9:00 pm and the dinner was supposed to be completed before midnight, since it was New Year’s Eve. Instead, we weren’t even served the first course, not even the pasta, before midnight.
We only finished eating at 1:30 am, meaning the dinner lasted over four and a half hours for just a few plates.
To apologize, they told us they would offer champagne, but what they actually brought was a glass of Portuguese wine. When we pointed out that this was not champagne, the response was:
“Yes, yes, it’s champagne from Portugal.”
At that point, the level of professionalism and honesty was honestly embarrassing.
Given that this restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide, expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience was nowhere near Michelin standards.
Overpriced, poorly managed, and disappointing. Absolutely not recommended.
Simply wow 🤩
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and received a very warm welcome.
We opted for the surprise chef's menu and were not disappointed.
Our highlight was the swordfish carpaccio and the tiramisu for dessert.
The service was excellent throughout. We would definitely come back.
My experience was as follows:
We ordered breakfast and it arrived beautifully.
We ordered tea, but the employee didn't tell us they were out of it. We ordered five teas, but she only brought two. I asked her why, and she said they were out. I asked why she hadn't told me, and she replied that she looked but couldn't find any. Besides that, they served warm water three minutes before breakfast.
We had dinner at Pastini's in May during our 4 day stay in Amsterdam. The restaurant was less than a 5 minute walk from our hotel. Really enjoyed this Italian neighborhood restaurant. Great food, good vibe, pleasant service and a nice corner canal setting.

After reading the Design Icon-Beurs, we still have a small lunch. The location itself had a wonderful ambiance, which was as beautiful as it was, very comfortable and with a lot of charm.
Wel bleef an indruk hang the one beetje dead need to think about. Never in Germany, but also here in the Netherlands, he always has a voice in his hands and has young service workers in how the motivatie en uitstraling what is visible. The feeling will be noted in the summer moments as a second mate of on-again, off-again information, which is always the case in the morning in the morning.
Ok de menukaart what you notice. Prijstechnically what the het was before what the floor would be on the stevige kant; Two snows brood with what kaas voor tien euro voelt in the context behoorlijk ambitious price. Thanks to this, there is a beautiful piece of furniture with a beautiful interior and exterior that can be used to make the most of it.

After our visit to the Design Icon fair, we had a small lunch at the place right next door. The venue itself had a truly wonderful atmosphere, both inside and outside, very inviting and thoughtfully designed with a lot of charm.
However, an impression remained that was somewhat thought-provoking. Not only in Germany, but also here in the Netherlands, there seems to be a growing presence of very young service staff whose motivation and energy appear rather limited. At times, the atmosphere was marked by a noticeable sense of indifference, something that used to be less common in the service industry.
The food selection was also quite limited. In terms of pricing, what was offered felt on the higher side; two slices of bread with some cheese for ten euros comes across as quite ambitiously priced in that context. Nevertheless, it remains a very beautiful place with a great interior and exterior setting that still makes it worth a visit.

After our visit to Design Icon, we had a light lunch at the neighboring restaurant. The place itself had a truly wonderful ambiance, both inside and out—very inviting and charming.
However, we were left with a somewhat thoughtful impression. It seems that not only in Germany, but also in the Netherlands, one increasingly encounters very young service staff whose motivation and charisma appear rather subdued. The atmosphere was characterized at times by a certain indifference, something one rarely experienced in the service industry in the past.
The food selection was also very limited. The prices were rather ambitious for what was offered; two slices of bread with some cheese for ten euros seemed quite steep in this context. Nevertheless, it remains a very beautiful place with a very appealing interior and exterior, making a visit worthwhile overall.
