I came here two weekends in a row for this heavenly goat chesse sandwich. But other dishes are delicious and nicely presented too.
The relaxing and cozy atmosphere, great attention to details and hospitality of the crew is not something you can find everywhere, especially with this price range.
Thank you team Le French Cafe!
Delicious lunch, the food is good and the portions are generous! There's an exceptional selection of wines by the glass (and bottle), with excellent advice! The team is clearly having a great time too.
I had the best time as a solo diner here. My server Bo (or Beau 🫣) was amazing. She extended great patience and gave me some really helpful recommendations.
The food was amazing, the bread was warm and the crunch of the crust was such a delight! The only thing was, I was offered the bread whilst I waited only to realise I had been charged for it at the end, but since it was really good it was okay.
The Ribeye was melt in your mouth and the dressing on the Caesar salad was to die for.
Overall I had such a relaxing, friendly experience. Thank you for making my birthday dinner so lovely. :)
Skip: Waygu burger rice, matcha bingsu (too much and strong matcha bitter taste). Matcha latte don’t order very strong taste with normal sweetness. Order normal matcha taste, but also just ok.
Good: Soba was not bad, shrimp tempura was good. The matcha tart was decent but too small.
To be truthfull, my experience really sucked!
Food was dissapointing. We got two burritos, both of which has such cold ingredients it even hurt the gums in my mouth. The rice had very hard dry pieces which were inedible. The beef was nice and soft, chicken average. The nachos were okay, but much too overprised for such a small portion.
Atmosphere: most tables were dirty and salsa bottles greasy. At some point we were three tables and the place was empty when we got in, so there was plenty of time for employees to clean a bit.
Service: not great. No smiles or friendliness, employee was moody.
Cosy place for a morning coffee in Amsterdam
I had the croissant and jam which tasted light and delicious
In a cold day it’s a good option to sip your coffee while overlooking the busy streets outside
Never saw a cheeseburger cooked so much, couldn’t even eat it. When informed the staff, they didn’t care much. They offered to take if off the bill with an attitude like I owed them
Otherwise, great vibe but unfortunately poor food and even poorer service
Terrible experience, completely ruined by one staff member: Juliette.
She was rude from the start—unwelcoming, condescending, and visibly irritated by simple questions. When we asked about the menu, she replied with sarcasm and acted like we were wasting her time. Basic requests, like asking for clean cutlery, were met with sighs and eye-rolls. Her attitude was nothing short of toxic.
She clearly has no understanding of customer service, no respect for her role, and no interest in making guests feel comfortable. In fact, she seemed far more invested in her own conversations than in doing her actual job.
Frankly, someone like Juliette has no business working in hospitality. If this place cares at all about its reputation, she should be let go immediately. No amount of decent food can make up for service this bad.
One employee like her can sink an entire business.
Avoid until they clean up the staff.
