The main bartender (petite skinny lady with glasses) is unnecessarily controlling and rude to customers and other staff, and this turned the vibe of the bar off. To be honest, she was the worst-mannered bartender at 100+ speakeasy bars I’ve been to. And her cocktail isn’t even that good so stop being bossy and pretentious

Tourists are clearly not welcome when locals are around. We had a good experience on Thursday: the bar wasn’t crowded, the service was good, and the draft beers were nice. On Friday night, we were treated very differently. We asked for a table and were told to wait. When a table became free, we confirmed with a staff member that it was available and went to take it. At that point, another staff member stopped us and said the table was already taken and that “the ladies” would be using it, seating them instead. This was frustrating, disrespectful, and made us feel deliberately pushed aside. Based on this experience, service here depends on who you are, not on fairness or order.

We went there two weeks in a row on Monday nights. The first time, they had the most delicious pea soup ever! And the second Monday night, they had delicious tom kha kai soup. Compliments to the chef! My husband and son's burgers were also delicious.

We only tried the coffee at Lagom Amsterdam, and it was really good! The biscuit served with the coffee was delicious and a nice touch. The place has a cozy and modern atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Perfect spot to enjoy a quick coffee break while exploring the city ☕️🍪✨.

Great Indian Gugrati and Punjabi food, confirmed by Indian cuisine lovers directly from India. All additional requests fulfilled with grace and kindness. I recommend to try paneer palak/ spinach with cheese medium spicy<3 If you like more spicy take chana dhal. Most of tables are for maximum 4 peoples, but the owner has managed to join tables for 6 without any inconvenience to other guests. Walls are covered with beautifull paintings, but toilets could be renovated. An advantage is close do distance to the Centraal Station 3-4 min walk.

Very good! Generous portions. The younger waiter was very attentive, the older one couldn't answer our culinary questions… Basic place. But thanks to the unique and flavorful food, I'm giving it 4 stars.

The prime rib was delicious, but the rest was incredibly disappointing. The hype surrounding Cafe Bern is completely unwarranted, in my opinion. There were no vegetables to dip in your cheese fondue, just the prime rib, and you could simply order a salad with sauce. We were also constantly reminded to order the next item quickly because we could only stay so late. "Do you want to order dessert? You have 20 minutes left before your reservation ends." This happened several times. The coziness and hospitality are completely gone. I recommend Het Karbeel or Proeflokaal van Wees for a cheese fondue; the service there is much warmer and there's a wider selection of vegetables for dipping. The decor is also much more inviting.

My girlfriend and I wanted to enjoy a delicious cocktail in the evening and stumbled upon Cafe Cuba. Inside, it's a small, very authentic Latino bar with a great atmosphere. Spanish music plays in the background. The cocktail menu is impressive. The prices are fair – and honestly, you'd happily pay €11-€13 for a good cocktail, right? 😉 Food/snacks are available. We had the nachos with melted cheese. Highly recommended for a light snack. The staff is super friendly!! Definitely worth a visit ☺️

Used to be such a nice place with delicious margaritas. Some bald guy (I believe he was the owner or manager) kicked us out just because we asked for a table for 4. Being condescending about our knowledge of the covid regulations. Even the waitress was like "what are you doing". No wonder it's was the only empty place on the Nieuwmarkt yesterday. Drank a nice margarita at the Cuba instead with excellent service.

It's a lovely place. We had Hot Choco and Chai Masala Latte, both of which were very enjoyable, and the presentation was beautiful. I can't comment on the food since we didn't eat anything. The view is beautiful and enjoyable.
