Never had such bad Indonesian food. It started with the reservation, which they couldn't find. We were given a table anyway, but they told us we had to be ready in an hour. Very hospitable!!!! The food was so bad that we left before then. Everything tasted the same, like the green beans, tofu, and bean sprouts. The sajor, gado gado, and frikadel were okay, but the babi, daging, and satay were terrible. The food wasn't even warm enough. Note: I'm Indonesian myself!
A luxurious, relaxed atmosphere on the edge of the Albert Cuyp Market. With delicious red wine and the Chef's Selection, the dinner was a success and very tasty. The DJ really adds to the wonderful atmosphere.
This was our second visit.
A very warm and friendly welcome. Attentive service.
I don't have much experience with Indonesian cuisine, but I found everything absolutely delicious... the satay sauce is amazing.
The food is very spicy, so be careful! 😁
First time at an Indonesian restaurant. We were excited to eat here and ordered the 18 dish special to share between 2. Beware, it is a lot of food.
The food was.. acceptable. I feel bad saying this, as there wasn't anything wrong with the food, but we were "whelmed". There were 5 or 6 standout dishes that were quite enjoyable, but the majority were just okay, with 1 or 2 not quite hitting the mark. I think a big problem was that out of 18 (really 14, since 2 are rice and 2 are topping/pickles to eat with the other dishes), 6 dishes were the same 2 meats, chicken and beef, but with a slightly different sauce: described as mild, medium, and hot. The meat ended up slightly dry and repetitive, with not enough variation in flavour and spice to justify 6 dishes. I also thought that the 3 spice levels were more: not spicy, mild, medium, which was disappointing.
Anyway, service was great and the restaurant had a good vibe. I'd still say the experience was enjoyable, but since food quality comes first for me, I wouldn't personally recommend it to friends. But I rate for my experience, so 4 stars.
After weeks of traveling across Europe, this was hands down the best Asian food we’ve had. Absolutely hit the spot when we were craving something comforting and flavorful. Huge thanks to Mahmoud for the warm and kind welcome — your wok skills are truly impressive! 🤩
P.S : I HIGHLY recommend the Thai coconut curry sauce with fried rice!
The food was delicious, and everything was exactly as it was at the mukbangs. The service was very friendly, and the location is great, right in the middle of all the shops in Amsterdam, so you have a beautiful view. I 100% recommend their homemade ice tea as a drink; it's super delicious. Wowcrab is truly the place to be; don't miss out!
We always enjoyed coming to Oslo. From today on, we'll never go back for dinner.
It's Wednesday, and along with two other tables, we were the only ones there from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service was pleasant and attentive, and we had a pleasant evening, but the snacks and dinner were a bit of a letdown.
The appetizers (12 pieces at €15.00 each) were lukewarm and limp. The appetizer was forgotten (and we canceled it), and the bavette dish was downright awful.
My table companion reluctantly gnawed through his overcooked bavette—ordered "medium-rare." I sent back my main course, ordered "medium." The meat was utterly tough and tasteless. Ten minutes later, the dish was served slightly better, but still tough and lacking in flavor. The fried potatoes were limp and lukewarm, and the grilled vegetables were probably overcooked.
Along with a few beers, wine, and some coffee, we paid €150.00 (!)
But it was still a fun time!
Crazy busy and it's a tight squeeze at this popular Chinese restaurant. The food was excellent and the prices reasonable, which must be why it's so popular!
Super cozy café with friendly staff and great coffee! The selection of cakes isn't too big, however the food I ordered on one of my visits arrived promptly. The Reuben Sandwich is good for the price, Flat White and Cappuccino are outstanding. Great for watching Amsterdam streets, grabbing a quick coffee, or even sitting outside if the sun comes out.
Very mediocre!
A concept focused on maximizing profit. Two choices:
A wafer-thin sliced baguette to start, with only a little butter.
Then a salad served separately: literally a few whole lettuce leaves in a bowl with 4 walnut halves.
Then sirloin steak or sole. No other choice. This is served plain, without vegetables or anything like that. With a side of fries.
It's more like an old-fashioned menza. Noisy, disinterested staff, and the music is too loud. Two shifts, but you wouldn't want to stay there any longer.
We had an excellent meal here. It was a little spendy, but it turned out to be worth every euro. The girls working were super nice and provided us with some very fresh and tasty meals. The tempura shrimp we ordered on the side were perfectly prepared. We will visit again when we return. If you like poke, I highly recommend!
Pekelhaaring to me is a perfect example of Bib Gourmand at its best. Creative dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients, expertly prepared, in a casual environment. I had arancini, fresh tagliatelle with deer ragu, and a poached pear tart, all for under €35 (if you share the dessert).
