I heard from a friend of mine who also works here that Joei, if I spell it correctly, calls a friend of mine chubby. I don't think this shows any respect towards the customers.
You can have a fine meal here for lunch. Pricey, but fine. I will definitely never have dinner here again. The burgers are super dry and way too overcooked, the kids' hamburger doesn't even have a sauce or pickle on it, the meat on the chicken satay was dry... Spent €100 for very unappetizing food. A shame.
Nostalgic hospitality establishment in Dordrecht. Beautiful and modernly extended terrace. Inside, you see little evidence of the modern elements. An old-fashioned pub with a dark atmosphere.
The food was delicious. It was a bit on the high price, though. The staff were not all equally sharp; it was difficult to reach the bar staff. They were more focused on their own lunch/food at the window.
Still, a nice place to visit every now and then.
I don't know if €20 for three regular drinks is normal, but it didn't feel like it at all. Either we were ripped off, or this margin is out of proportion.
Friendly, good food but very noisy. With a noise level of 78 dB. Next is one ladies' and one men's toilet that stinks badly and hasn't been cleaned in 5 hours. No air freshening. With a small table right next to the toilet entrance, where people are walking in and out all evening.
Truly appalling service — one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences we’ve had.
The restaurant was barely 40% full, with only one other table occupied inside, and there were 2–3 servers outside. We waited approximately 15 minutes just to have someone take our order. Eventually, I had to go looking for the waitress myself and ask whether we could sit anywhere.
She said she would come by. Another 10 minutes passed. Still no one had taken our order — not even drinks.
When I followed up again, rather than apologising or acknowledging the wait, she responded sharply that they “didn’t have enough staff.” Being short-staffed is understandable. What isn’t understandable is continuing to seat customers without informing them that they won’t receive basic service.
What made the situation particularly frustrating was that we could see the waitress intermittently sitting around the bar or at a nearby table while we were waiting (I’m sure on site cameras can verify this around 12pm on 27/09).
After roughly 25 minutes of sitting there without even having our drinks order taken, we left.
So, unfortunately, no review of the food or drinks — we never got that far.
If you’re unable to serve customers, be upfront about it. Leaving people sitting for 25 minutes and then snapping at them when they ask for service is simply unacceptable.
Very bad, moldy bread with chicken on it. When I mentioned it, "Oh sorry, you don't have to pay for it," they said, "No duh." I got up and left. There were only two of us. One tip: walk past; there are many much better places in that area.
We dined at Beren Schiedam on Sunday, September 27th, with a large group of 95 people. The food receives 3 stars because the bread with the Garlic Grana was too meager. That aside… Tom and his colleagues helped and served us incredibly well. Special requests were no problem at all. Settling the bill went great! Thank you very much!
We have ordered here often and participated in a points promotion for a discount. I was supposed to receive a discount when the card was full, but it didn't work when ordering. I mentioned this at the counter when picking up the order. She said she would have someone look into it, but I never heard from her again. This is how they treat regular customers!
