📍by the water
🪑nice decor, but a bit of a chilly atmosphere for my taste.
🛎️friendly but I find them slow. Especially because it was very quiet in the place.
💰it is more expensive than average but with 1 main course you can easily manage.
🍽️food was good. Personally a bit too salty for me.
🅿️you can pay at the door but there has to be a spot available.
🚽toilets are in need of renovation.
📋person not dissatisfied but due to the hype it still feels disappointing.
Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent service. The meat was delicious, the best burgers in Amsterdam. Homemade pizza too.
I've been eating salt and pepper squid for over a decade, from overseas to Hong Kong and Guangdong (farmhouses, chain restaurants, private kitchens), and I've never had such soggy salt and pepper squid. Considering its mid-range price, we packed some to take home to avoid waste. The bitter melon was incredibly bitter, as if it hadn't been blanched in salt or water beforehand. The Peking duck, iced lemon tea, and milk tea were good; the three-piece combo was average.
A truly unique interior with even more unique food. The Japanese burger, a la Smash, is delicious! A unique take on the popular chain's Big Mac. A big plus! We highly recommend it.
The broth was really nice even without adding anything to it, summer rolls were also good but 5.50€ a piece is a bit much ngl
The self made drinks like iced tea etc. are in small glasses just fyi it’s not 330ml
Plus waiting time was really long, we probably did wait about 30 minutes until we got our food.
Staff was very nice tho, it’s an okay goodish place to check out.
Excellent food!! Burgers were delicious. The Croque Monsieur was also very good. Very quaint atmosphere. A great first meal for our trip to Amsterdam!!
Friendly staff and a great menu. Unfortunately it was just a bit too loud in the restaurant as the conversations from the nearby group made it difficult to enjoy the evening.
We have eaten at Ron Gastrobar five times now, but unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience.
There were a number of things that were very disappointing. We ordered a dish for two people, but ultimately received only two rather bare pieces of meat without any garnish or side dishes. Additionally, we had ordered fries with Parmesan cheese, for which an extra charge applies. However, the amount of cheese was minimal and completely disproportionate to the extra cost.
The prices are also starting to get a bit out of balance. A glass of champagne as an aperitif costs €30 per person, and we ended up with a bill of €220, even though €30 had been deducted. It turned out afterwards that this is the standard deposit that is normally paid via the website. However, we had made a reservation by phone and were unaware of this.
Finally, Spa Red was placed on the table without us asking for it. Subsequently, €5 was charged for every refill. Surprises like that make you feel less comfortable about the bill afterwards. It is a shame, because we always enjoyed visiting Ron Gastrobar. The quality and experience were precisely the reason we kept coming back. This time, however, we unfortunately felt the price-quality ratio was no longer balanced.
