De beste restaurants in Amsterdam

Unfortunately, the pho was not the best I have eaten. The usual garnishes, such as fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime, were served with it, but I did not find the taste very authentic. In my opinion, the taste resembled Chinese cuisine more than the traditional Vietnamese cuisine as I know it. Additionally, the wait staff spoke almost exclusively English. This can be difficult for customers who primarily speak Dutch and have limited English skills. All in all, I found the experience somewhat disappointing. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, I would personally not recommend this place. I hope that in the future, the dishes will acquire a more authentic Vietnamese flavor and come closer to traditional Vietnamese cuisine. It would also be nice if communication with Dutch-speaking customers improved. Personally, I would like to see more authentic Vietnamese restaurants open in the area in the future so that there is more choice for lovers of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

Used to be such a nice place with delicious margaritas. Some bald guy (I believe he was the owner or manager) kicked us out just because we asked for a table for 4. Being condescending about our knowledge of the covid regulations. Even the waitress was like "what are you doing". No wonder it's was the only empty place on the Nieuwmarkt yesterday. Drank a nice margarita at the Cuba instead with excellent service.

You walk in and order before you sit down. The one-page menu shows the a la carte options on the left or the mixed or vegetarian Rijsttafel (rice table) on the right which is an assortment of 8 dishes, plus plain and fried rice, with shrimp chips at 30 euros pp. You have to order a minimum of 2 orders. You'll also have to order your drinks as no tap water will be provided (this is written on the menu). The Rijsttafel for 2 is more than enough for 2 people. We couldn't finish everything. I don't believe the food is made-to-order. Some dishes were pretty good and some were just okay. We went during the heat wave and there is a local a/c unit so try to get a seat on that side of the room that the a/c is facing.

Nice place, but the staff didn't really make me feel welcome, so I decided to leave after my coffee. I came for lunch.

My wife and I had a couple of beers and ate the Burrata and flammkuchen. Everything was excellent. The beer was cold and the food was great. Outside seating is a plus. Recommend.

I went to this place yesterday with two of my friends. We just wanted to have some drinks but it turned to be very fun so we decided to have dinner there as well, the drinks and food were great. Our server, Miguel was very friendly and lovely! You guys should praise his work, really!

Since host Vagarsh Mogatseljan took over this brasserie, the quality has improved dramatically. Chef Berend and his team ensure superb quality with fresh ingredients at truly fair prices, especially compared to other Amsterdam restaurants. The wine list is well-organized: no nonsense here, just expert selections. Highly recommended, without a doubt!

Come here if you enjoy the taste of store bought salsa and guacamole. On the plus side they do serve free water. Atmosphere: non existent.

I came here when I was 20, and now I've been with my 20-year-old son. The shawarma is still tasty. It's in my top 5 in the city.

This wasn’t my first time visiting this restaurant, and it has never disappointed me before. However, this time the overall experience fell a bit short and was more expensive than I expected. We had a reservation, yet we still had to wait more than 20 minutes at the bar before being seated. I can understand that delays happen, but what I found frustrating was that no one came to acknowledge or assist us for the first 15 minutes. The ingredients are of high quality and the food is cooked very well. That said, charging €30 for a pork chop with sauce and no side dish whatsoever, no vegetables, potatoes, or any other accompaniment, feels excessive. At that price, you can order lamb, duck, or other more expensive cuts of meat at many other restaurants. The cabbage cordon bleu was delicious, as was the prawn cocktail, but I still feel that the portions don’t quite justify the prices. Dessert was a canelé with avocado sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. However, €9.50 for that dessert also seems expensive, especially when compared with the restaurant scene in Amsterdam. This is simply an honest and objective review. I’m not trying to criticize for the sake of it. Everything I ate was genuinely delicious, and the service was warm, attentive, and friendly once we were looked after, despite the initial wait. I truly enjoy what this restaurant does and will likely come back. My only suggestion would be to reconsider the pricing, include more substantial side dishes, or perhaps rethink the way some of the dishes are structured so that the overall value better matches the cost. This is, of course, just my humble opinion. They clearly know how to cook and deliver quality food, but I think they should reconsider their pricing.

Genuinely one of my favourite little spots in amsterdam, whenever we get into the city I always swing by Lucy's on the way to the hotel, serves extremely good quality food/cakes and does fantastic drinks both hot and cold, would highly recommend!

Lovely small restaurant, went here for dinner with my partner whilst on holiday in Amsterdam and was very impressed with the meal and service. It was very relaxed and had a lovely atmosphere 🙂

Best baklava ever. Been for the second time now. Was great.
