Don’t miss it when you’re in Amsterdam.. absolutely loved everything about Stone‘s Cafe…The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was top-tier.Big shoutout to the manager, such a sweetheart and so involved with all the guests. Will definitely be back 🤩
Cute atmosphere but the sushi is very questionable. I think they’re microwaving frozen fish for the sushi. The rolls are cut very inconsistently and the fish is warmish and has a ton of stringy chewy bits in it
Particularly expensive bread, pastries, sandwiches, and patisserie. Beautiful building with a huge display case crammed with croissants and other related items, piled up nicely and glistening with butter. The staff is, to put it mildly, politely distant, devoid of any friendliness or pleasantness, and comes across as particularly uninterested. They make it clear that they are solely focused on their work. Everything I have tasted from this bakery, from the bread to the coconut cake and madeleines, tastes like a bag of sugar with a buttery flavor. Apparently, this bakery assumes that as long as there is enough butter in it, it must be good. The prices are high and disproportionate to the product. The bread is limp, sweet, and yes, once again, full of butter. If you want good bread, there are more than enough bakeries in the neighborhood that do sell tasty and healthy bread; for delicious and even cheaper patisserie, I recommend Arnold Cornelis, across the street. As far as I am concerned, this bakery has not moved with the times and is resting on past glory, which is no longer relevant for Simon Meijssen.
Super friendly, personal service and outstanding food. I loved that every dish was a surprise, made with incredibly fresh ingredients. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special night out. I'll definitely be back :)
Terrible disappointment, the website menu is apparently years old. Now only vegetarian pizza and fake burgers.
And that for a large international campsite!
The worst pain au chocolat I’ve ever had in my life. Taste is subjective, but I genuinely can’t imagine one tasting worse than this. Dry, disappointing, and completely lacking the buttery, flaky texture a good pain au chocolat should have. If you actually enjoy pastries, do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.
My girlfriend and I wanted to enjoy a delicious cocktail in the evening and stumbled upon Cafe Cuba. Inside, it's a small, very authentic Latino bar with a great atmosphere. Spanish music plays in the background. The cocktail menu is impressive. The prices are fair – and honestly, you'd happily pay €11-€13 for a good cocktail, right? 😉 Food/snacks are available. We had the nachos with melted cheese. Highly recommended for a light snack. The staff is super friendly!! Definitely worth a visit ☺️
Avoid. I ordered via Uber Eats - a build your own salad with hot smoked salmon. They didn’t contact me but just sent me a salad with no salmon, a pile of chicken and a note saying they had run out of salmon so swapped it out. I’m a pescatarian so I can’t eat a salad covered in chicken. Complete waste of my time, a waste of food (that I now have to dispose of) and a pretty stupid thing to do.
