Food was great but I forgot to pay, please take this 5-star review as an apology!

​Hands down the best Chinese dining experience in Amsterdam! ​We had an absolute blast at Sea Palace. The iconic floating restaurant itself is visually stunning, offering incredible waterfront views while you dine. ​The food was top-tier—an incredible selection of authentic Chinese dishes and mouthwatering dim sum, all packed with rich flavor and served fresh and hot. Despite how large and busy the restaurant gets, the staff was surprisingly fast, organized, and genuinely friendly throughout our meal. ​Eating amazing food on a spectacular pagoda boat right on the water makes this a truly unique culinary experience in the city. 10/10, highly recommended to anyone visiting Amsterdam!

Went there today after reading reviews. Found that the place was closed. Kantjil & De Tiger, as of 11 Sep 2025 seems to be permanently closed.

We got a set of appetizers — and it was a great choice: everything is different, but it all goes together perfectly. Now we definitely know what to start with next time.

We’ve been there with a big group. Service was quite unfriendly, no second order possible, no one coming for the bill. Dinner / dishes were of great taste.

Average food but very nice people. I was expecting more. You can try!

The worst steak I’ve ever had. I ordered a ribeye, but it was so dry that it was almost impossible to eat. On top of that, it had so much fat that I couldn’t even cut it off properly. I can make a much better steak at home. €46 completely wasted. Maybe I was just unlucky, but personally, I would never go back to this place.

If I were to visit a restaurant for the location, this review would be fantastic. Both the building and the ambiance were captivating. However, for me, it is more often about the food, and unfortunately, that was disappointing for me here. For the starter, I had the ouef de mayo twice; however, it was more like a mayo de ouef, because I couldn't find the eggs properly due to the gigantic dollop of mayo. The truffle pasta was exactly as the name suggests: truffle and pasta, nothing more. Quite bland, and the truffle itself had little flavor. The stuffed eggplant was tasty, though. The spinach that came with it as a side dish was tasteless. The sgroppino was okay, but a bit on the sour side for me. The coffee was very good. I wouldn't be quick to return, but should it ever cross my path again, I will give it a second chance.

The poke bowl was fine. The burger was a bit chewy. The burger at the airport is much better. The service was decent.

Great place , nice quality of food but the dutch girl is 2nd time that brings the receipt but at the card payment she add different ammount... well tips should be earned not taken sneaky... I live in Amsterdam and i have seen this story again by local waiters or bartenders...

Extremely rude staff - do not recommend, plenty of other nice and friendly alternatives close by.

The food is splendid, the meat is exceptionally delicious. One of the most beautiful things about this place is its people and the atmosphere. Very friendly staff, the waiters are always kind. Even when the restaurant is busy, you will always be attended and get a table. They are very fast, polite and responsive. I definitely recommend to visit Marmaris for its excellent cuisine, delicious Baklava, and heartwarming service

Best breakfast I have had in Amsterdam. Easy spot to get to and staff are very friendly.

A warm and welcoming café atmosphere in the heart of Amsterdam, with fast and friendly service. The croquettes are amazing and the coffee is excellent. I highly recommend it!! 😌

While the food and quality is good.. the service - just getting the attention from staff made the dining experience much to be desired for. We had to remind and wait patiently for them to remember to bring basic stuff like plates and spoons before food, missed order for water bottle , waited and reminded gulab jamun, some were just chit chatting with other customers on clothes shopping in india while we are patiently waiting next seat for our order to be taken and plates be served . then spoons were forgotten , plates came after food. Like there were multiple staff attending random fashion instead of 1-2 person doing all the thing so there was so much service discontinuity. At one point I wanted to ask if we can get Ganga water cos the water bottle took like 2 reminders and 20 min .staff apologized for the delay but water bottle man. And at the end we r waiting to pay bill someone else cuts in and we are again held waiting while the staff is texting on his phone. So much chatter between the staff like a class room while customers were still there and we were trying to get attention no focus on customer service continuity. Very bizzare for a restaturant service. Which is an established global chain. Want good food yes its available here. Want attentive service. Sorry not on the menu.
