Beware of tourist scams. The bill clearly showed a total of €165. When it came time to pay, the waiter demanded €181, about 10% more, pointing to the "Btw hoog" line on the bill and claiming it was a card payment fee. This is false: "Btw" is Dutch VAT, and it's already included in the €165 total. It's not a card surcharge in any way. We ended up paying the correct amount in cash, but this kind of practice towards foreign customers is unacceptable. Double-check your bill if you're ever in this area.

Poor service and disrespectful behavior. The employee was completely unfriendly and almost threw the food/order down in front of us. I tried to stay calm, but the way he spoke to a woman was absolutely unacceptable. A real shame about this experience.

I enjoyed an evening meal here with my friends; we ordered a kind of platter with fries and grilled meat. What you get with it is usually very typical for a Turkish takeaway or restaurant; in terms of sauces, it involves whitish garlic sauce and a sort of reddish sambal sauce. A little lettuce, tomato, and cucumber on the side. They are mainly known for selling kebab or dürüm dishes, although kapsalon is also quite well-known. The service is usually quite fast, and you are served quickly.

Traveled 3 times from Rotterdam to get Corner Bakery. Everytime I showed up there was an excuse to why they were closed. None of the times we showed up, was there any notice or anything online to let us know that they are going to be closed.

I had the carbonara and my girlfriend had the chicken parmesan. We are both blown away by the quality. I understand that there are reviews of this place that have lower ratings based on the owner not wanting people to stand directly outside. I must say I agree with the owner as he is simply trying to run a business and wants people to be able to see into his lovely restaurant. I wish more people could come and experience the wonderful love for food that the people here have. Their passion is amazing. We were welcomed in and instantly felt at ease. I would have taken pictures but I couldn’t wait to eat 😊

Owner is extremely rude and unwelcoming. Drinks are overpriced and the place is generally dirty. Tables are greasy and the atmosphere is horrible.

Best place to buy Surinamese vegetables, cheaper or just as expensive as the markets, and most importantly, that they don't come from the cupboards.

Usually, especially as a local, I'm very skeptical with restaurants in locations like these. But the food is actually good and the staff is so kind, which is extra commendable in an area full of wacky tourists!

Nice place to have a drink. Cozy atmosphere, good drinks, and friendly staff. Service was also quick. Definitely worth a repeat visit!
