Great spot with a fun atmosphere. The vibes were great, the food was really good, and I especially enjoyed the salad. The bitterballen were delicious too. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for good food, drinks, and a great atmosphere.
We visit this restaurant regularly and deliberately reserve a table on the terrace every time. To our frustration, we are subsequently sent inside almost every time. Afterwards, we receive the same excuses again, but nothing changes.
If you cannot guarantee a terrace, be honest about it when making a reservation. Promising customers the same thing over and over again and then failing to deliver is simply disappointing. It is a shame, because the food is fine, but unfortunately, the service and the honoring of agreements leave much to be desired. I went because it appeared open on the map, but the sign on the door said it would be closed for about a month. If you update the map, people won't come all the way to your door for nothing.
After having dinner here twice and not being able to try and the desserts, we came back today for soup followed by profiteroles and coffee. This is our home away from home in Amsterdam. Thank you team.
Once I arrived I was told I was too drunk to enter, I was told to wait an hour. After waiting an hour with friends I was given the same answer. When I wanted to say something about this I was firmly reminded that there was no room for discussion. The whole evening was ruined, what a bunch of sour bastards those security guards are.
Best pub in Amsterdam! True family atmosphere and just a great place to be!!!
100% recommend for anyone visiting or living here - this would be my local if I lived here
They're sticking to their origins and roots, very respectful for any pub anywhere these days! Give it a try!
The chef (and presumably) owner lashed out at us when we brought to notice that the menú pricing does not match what was put on the cheque — he started rambling about the war in Ukraine, raising taxes, and how the servant is at fault because she is a woman. We could not understand the chef (Itialian man of respectable age) half the time, and we had to extensively argue with him in order to get the correct cheque price.
The food does not match the previous 1-2 year pictures – the pasta, although homemade, was lacking ingredients and came out bland, unseasoned, and in a wet water puddle.
Do not recommend, we pitty the servant working here.
I visited Amsterdam last week and was staying at The Social Hub Amsterdam City. For convenience and convenience, I dined for the first time at the Ristorante Bar, where breakfast is served.
The menu features only a few courses, but the food, from pizza to pasta and main courses, is all, as they say, FEW BUT GOOD; in fact, I'd venture to substitute "good" for "excellent."
The atmosphere is youthful, with attentive, active, and friendly yet discreet dining room staff, as is the kitchen staff.
I enjoyed everything so much that I returned for an aperitif and dinner, eating well, spending a fair amount, in a jazz club atmosphere.
To be honest, our experience here wasn't exactly great. The food was really good, but the service was disappointing.
We were served by a waitress with dark hair slicked back. She looked very neat, but she constantly frowned at us and seemed very impatient.
There were two of us and we ordered quite a lot. If we didn't finish it, we'd simply have it wrapped up so nothing went to waste. But as soon as the staff saw how much we ordered, their reaction was clearly visible, and it didn't feel good.
This immediately ruined the atmosphere, and we ultimately didn't really enjoy the food.
